Great place josh the manager is fantastic
Trout was absolutely fantastic. Wife’s Asian salmon almost as good both very well presented. Service excellent and friendly.
We didn’t have a lot of time, since we were headed out of town. We opted to eat in the bar area and order a few appetizers. Bruschetta is #1 in my book. Smoked salmon and bleu cheese chips are really good, too. We’ve been here many times. Always good food and friendly staff.
Friendly service. Excellent cheeseburger
One of my favorite local restaurants....always consistent, service is always good and quiet enough to have a conversation without shouting.
Service was very very slow. Took forever to get food. FOREVER!! My $36 medium steak was bloody. Sent it back and sat for probably 25 minutes to get it back. Had the waiter (who by the way was very personable...really liked him ) box the food up and brought it home. Probably won't go back for a long time if at all. It's a shame...we always liked Stonewood. This is the 3rd bad experience there.
Every employee makes you feel important and special
Went to Stonewood on Mother’s Day. Our waiter never offered the two Mother’s who were there a complimentary glass of champagne. We had to ask for it. He told us he thought they had run out but he did find some so we did get our champagne. After our meal he did not ask us if we wanted dessert. It was getting close to closing and it appeared that the restaurant was ready to close. When we asked for the dessert menu he gave to us but when we asked for the creme brûlée’s we were told they were out. On a holiday like Mother’s Day you would expect that a restaurant would not run out of the most popular item on the dessert menu. I also feel like there should have been a special dessert not on the regular menu since it was Mother’s Day. I have discovered that the wait staff at this restaurant are much better at their job when you don’t come close to closing. Also as a side note....the asparagus was over cooked and not good. Other then that everyone was pleased with their meal.
Had their Mother’s Day special prime rib and lobster tail. Also every time I go I have to have a cup of their delicious New England chowder soup best I’ve ever had anywhere.
About a 7-8 oz cold water lobster tail. prime rib was cooked to perfection, roasted asparagus absolutely delicious made for a wonderful Mother’s Day dinner
Great food, calming atmosphere, impeccable service from Triston!
Friendly fast service on Mother’s Day very appreciative
Best food EVER! We recently moved from Indianapolis and have been trying different restaurants. Yours was by far the most impressive delicious!!! Our server, Chris, was wonderful!!
I had made reservations, so little wait time.
This was our best dining experience inFL, as well as Indy. I can almost taste the Tuscan Chicken now. YUMMY.
WILL BE BACK!!
Shannon was excellent and I enjoyed my meal. My issue is that my credit card was compromised. My card service notified me of several odd charges early the next morning. There were many charges after I left the restaurant leading me to think it was skimmed. I had the card out of my wallet only during the time of the transaction, approximately 5-7 minutes.
Please try to improve this type of behavior. This most likely another customer or from the parking area. I am hoping it was not a Stonewood staff member.
Sally our waitress very friendly and efficient. Onion soup and French dip delicious. Love that the noise level is low and can have a nice conversation. Ambiance has a club like feel very comfortable
“Disappointing visit with food being returned and feeling rushed to leave.”
It was the last day of our holiday and we wanted somewhere special to eat our dinner. I booked Stonewood as we have been here previously and always enjoyed our experience. Unfortunately last night was a total disappointment.
My husband ordered a starter but I mentioned to the server I did not want a starter as I was saving myself for desert. My husband ordered the burger which he enjoyed whilst I ordered the chicken pot pie ~ this was barely warm so I sent it back. When a hot replacement was delivered my husband had almost finished his burger so sat watching me eat mine. Once I had finished my plate was removed and the check appeared!!!! There was no asking if we wanted desert despite my saying earlier that I did.
Unfortunately a very disappointing experience ~ I would not go back and therefor I am unable to recommend this restaurant ~ there are so many others too choose from in Sarasota.
We are never disappointed when we dine at Stonewood Grill. We've tried several different items and loved them all.
We'll be back! Enjoyed ourselves so much we didn't pay attention to time...had to hurry to catch a plane. Thanks David for the speedy service.
I had the Short Ribs which just melted in my mouth. My husband loves his comfort food so he had the Chicken Pot Pie. Our guest had the Lobster Mac & Cheese. She said the lobster was perfectly cooked. And she should know she comes from Cape Cod and knows her lobster.
It was a delightful meal with great service.
We haven't been for over a year because they dropped the lamb chops. This visit was good for the prime rib but not so good for the flounder, it was mushy, not firm. Cocktails were great at happy hour prices. Drew did a good job as our server. We will come back for the prime rib and leave the fish to Duval's.
as always, a bit noisy, and a small wait for our reserved table. Service was excellent, and food very tasty. Generous portions.
Exceptional service and good food at a reasonable price.
It was a birthday lunch with my best friend. I ordered the chicken salad combo with N.E. clam chowder. The chowder was good, but very disappointed in the chicken salad. It was almost all dark meat chunks and had no flavor. My friend had the brisket sandwich. It was quite fatty; onion soup was good. The creme brulee was very nice.
Great Easter Dinner of roast lamb
Went on Easter and had the leg of lamb. Had a 5pm reservation and we're seated promptly. Our server greeted us in a timely manor. We ordered our drinks and said we wanted a few minutes to enjoy them. My husband asked a question about the salad dressing and next thing we knew we had our salads. Would have liked to wait a few more minutes. Our food also arrived pretty quickly. The potatoes were hot but the lamb and asparagus were just warm. Can't recall our waiter coming back to check and at that point I just ate it. I'm sure I would have enjoyed it more if it were hotter. Not sure if the waiter was new or very busy. He brought the check without asking if we wanted dessert or anything else. Don't usually do dessert but it was one time I may have.
Usually excellent. However, this time salad was soggy- not so fresh as usual. Steak was very good. Sally, our server, was super
Very special / exceptional dining experience. Never disappointed, but Easter was beyond terrific. 'Sally' is very special.
Our experience with Stonewood Grill & Tavern was outstanding. My cousin highly recommended this restaurant time after time. Because of her high praise, she, my husband and I had Easter dinner at Stonewood and were thoroughly pleased. The service was excellent, the ambience was pleasing and the food was delicious and plentiful. We are planning on celebrating my birthday in May at Stonewood on University Parkway in Sarasota.
Even though it e=was a holiday, we were seated proptly had great service and great food.
Our experience was very good, especially for a holiday. We were seated at our reservation time and the service was quite good. We never felt like they were trying to turn over the table for the next party, which is quite unusual for an Easter holiday event. The leg of lamb special dinner had an extremely good flavor and was a nice size portion.
We (4 people) enjoyed a quiet, nice paced Easter dinner at Stonewood Grill. The choice of food was great, the server pleasant and we left saying we would be back again.
Had a wonderful Easter special lamb dinner here on Easter Sunday very tasty Everyone was very friendly and the service at our table was great. It was busy but they still managed to serve us and take time for us .Will definitely come back soon
I used to love it. Seems the quality is getting less and less. I felt I could have gone to Applebees and gotten about the same. My steak was poor quality and my father was a butcher so I know a good steak.
Our party of 4 had a great meal made even more enjoyable by our server Skye. We each chose a different entree and were pleased with our choices. We had made a reservation on line and were seated on time and agreed that we were neither rushed nor neglected. We will definitely make another visit.
We are regulars and always enjoy our meals at Stonewood. It's everyday dining and we have a favorite server who always treats his customers with special care. Try prime rib or prime rib sandwich with Au Jus which is yummy. Great wedge salad with blue cheese dressing. Loaded baked potato never disappoints. Great bar too! Try it....you'll like it!
We were seated in a side room because people were still at our reserved table. This was ok because it was quiet and our party of five were only people in room. However, room decor was terrible....old tables and chairs, no ambience at all, and several large cobwebs were visible when sun shined through window!
Just needs spruced up. Waiter was great and food very good.
The only problem we had was that after dining and we were the only people there at 3:30 was that when we got home there was an email that we did not show up for our reservation I guess spending 71 plus dollars is not enough so as always eating at Stonewood I had to call Opentable scan my recite to them to show them we dined there and then received my points awaits of my time
We will no loner dine again there it happens every time
It is due to inefficient people at the check in desk
Actually your food and service is excellent
We are full time residents not your snowbirds
Love the Stonewood Grill! Food is excellent. The service was attentive and good, however, it takes too long to get a cocktail and the food comes out too fast. Will definately be going back again!
We met friends from North Carolina at Stonewood. We had a great dinner. Josh was our waiter and he made the whole dining experience perfect.
The staff at Stonewood Grill in Sarasota went above and beyond to make our evening really special. The food was excellent, and the staff was very attentive.
We will certainly be back, and I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.
We waited approximately 15 minutes for a waiter to finally approach table even though the place wasn’t that busy. When we finally had our food the waitress and other staff were sweeping the floor right near us which was a turn off to then trying to eat and enjoy your meal. This place is worse than a cheap diner. The staff are only interested in cleaning and closing up even though it was about 845 pm.
