Stonewood Grill & Tavern - Naples Ratings and Reviews
Stonewood has always been a favorite of mine and my date’s. It is a fairly low noise place where we can have a conversation and at the same time not be involved in what is going on at adjoining tables. Our server was pleasant and attentive.
The problem we had was with the steak my date ordered. She ordered the sirloin cooked medium. When it came, however, it was very rare and had to be sent back twice. That has never happened at this restaurant to either of us before. Because we were going to an event, this made us a bit late.
Have eaten here before with friends. Never rushed, have sat and talked with friends for an hour to catch up before even ordering an appetizer without any complaint or hurry from staff! Food was always good. This time a bit different. Seated at a table near kitchen entrance where wait staff was"hanging out" and found we were part of their weekend plans to drink and party. Heard no noise from kitchen though, just staff near entry to kitchen. Food was luke warm at best, and broccoli was over done and dry. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable. I'm sure we'll go back, after that visit will determine if we return again.
The food and service was fine at the restaurant. The trouble was when I tried to use an open table gift certificate to pay for dinner. It took them a half hour to process the certificate. Then the manager told me he was doing me a favor by doing it since he said the restaurant couldn’t redeem it till the next day. That was very irritating.
We have eaten at Stonewood Grill for years, however our dinner last Sunday evening was awful. The salmon was overcooked, the soup was cold and even after being reheated was barely warm. Our waiter told us Sunday evening was not a good night to dine at Stonewood. We had intended to buy gift cards... decided not to !!!
We have had dinner here a few times in the last couple of years. We felt like the food quality has dropped this visit. Maybe it was just a bad night for the kitchen. I was in the business for years. The food seemed cheaper quality or a new chef. We will try again. Hopefully it goes back to the way it was!
I have dined at Stonewood in Naples and in Fort Myers many times over the years . My wife and a group of our friends of about twenty have chosen Stonewood many times to get together. We had lunch at the one in Naples for Thanksgiving and had the turkey special and were very disappointed in the meal. Crackerbarrel, Bob Evans, and Perkins serve a much better turkey dinner all year round. We chose Stonewood thinking it would be a special meal for the holiday. We expected more from a restaurant that we thought so highly of.
I️ had been wanting to go back to Stonewood for quite some times do we finally made it there this past Saturday. Stonewood had been one of our favorites before we moved here 4 yrs ago and soon following. Not so Saturday. I️ had grilled Shrimp and scallops with broccoli and rice. The broccoli wad wayyy overdone and the rice was tasteless. We had to ask for bread and received one basket for 6 people. In addition, when our server asked if we wanted another round of gin/Tonics, the two guys who had them said yes, I️ said no and 3 gin/tonics came out. Stonewood used to wow us. After this last visit, not so much
We dined on a Thursday evening and had a slight delay in our reservation. When we left, there were still people waiting for a table in spite of the fact that about 25% of the tables were empty. The restaurant was uncomfortably cold. We were told the kitchen was hot so they turned the air conditioner down. Our dinners ( cedar plank salmon) were fine, but the service was slow. With so many restaurant choices in North Naples, it's hard to recommend Stonewood. The whole operation seemed very disorganized.
