My wife and I went there to celebrate out 45 anniversary. Everything was perfect. We had a cocktail with our appetizer, (the stone bits) and it tasted delicious. I had filet mignon and it was done perfectly and tender. My wife had the asian chicken and lime salad and had so much that we had to take it home and finish it the next day. We have been eating there for over 10 years and I can't recall ever having a bad meal there.
Great Date Night with the Husband
Great service with great service - nice to carry on a conversation without yelling
First time st this location, but Stonewood’s is consistently good. Predictable but doesn’t feel like a chain.
Usually always a good experience but not this last time.
Wine glassstill had lipstick still on it from whoever used glass before. Over all atmosphere was nice but very disappointed that both my wife and my steak was over cooked. They offered to remake steaks but by the time we received the over cooked steaks we where to hungry to send them back. I assuming that we just caught them on a off night.
I had a reservation for 7 pm. I requested a large booth (we were celebrating my son’s and mother’s birthday)with open table. We arrived at 7:00 pm and checked in. It was 7:20 and a lot of other guests had 7 pm reservations. When I was asked if a half booth/half table would worked, I jumped on it. Our family felt crowded with this arrangement, but I was concerned we would not be seated until after 8 pm; one hour after my reservation. Stonewood needs to improve dining room management.
The food is always excellent as is the service.
I have visited Stonewood numerous times and have always been impressed by their consistency, but our latest visit was an exception. Six guests and two received the wrong entrée. Food was warm at best. Very NOT Stonewood. The wrong entree's were corrected, but by the time the correct ones arrived everyone else was finished. Service was much slower than in the past and it did not seems to be any busier than usual. I'll mark it up to a bad night and plan to return soon.
Great food - the flounder was excellent! Savanna was very attentive.
Reservations are a must on a Friday or Saturday night. I took a date who had never previously been to the Stonewood. Our server was very attentive. She was young and a bit too friendly but very pleasant.
We started with the bruschetta appetizer and it was the best I have ever had! It was absolutely perfect!
I ordered the Parmesan crusted grouper. It was very good and the fish was fresh, but the portion was a tad small. My date ordered the prime rib and she raved about it. For dessert, we shared the chocolate bread pudding. It is quite wonderful and we both loved it.
We had reservations at 8 pm and the restaurant was a bit noisy when we arrived. By 8:30, the restaurant was not as crowded and conversation was much easier. The noise level is my only significant criticism of the night.
Celebrating friend’s’ wedding anniversary. Heidi and her trainee, Embry (sp?) were excellent. Managing Partner Michael greeted us and ensured we had a great evening! All party members enjoyed the evening. Love our Stonewood!
Our experience was great!Hostess there were 3 of them need more training, did not even greet us,we waited to see how long it would take them to acknowledge us!
This is a neighborhood restaurant and we enjoy the food - ambiance - and love our waitress Cassie - great dinner and they were prompt with our reservation and request for Cassie
Actually there is nothing negative I could find. I wish I could remember the waitress' name, but at 82 forgetting is what I do. She was wonderful. We totally enjoyed the meal.
The service was pretty bad and the waitress had the nerve to come over to the table with the bill and make the big pitch for a tip we were like really once she took our order we never saw her again never brought the bread at the begining, never poored the wine throughout, never checked on how our dinners were. Good thing there were other support staff around we could call on.....
Our server Star looked after us very well.
My biggest complaint always is the length of time it takes to get a drink from the bar. We must have waited 20 minutes for first glass of wine and had almost finished Our meal by the time the second one came.
Great food and service as usual. One of our favorite places In Jacksonville.
Always a great experience!
From the moment we arrived, service was excellent. Accommodating our need for storing a walker for my mom was so easily executed. Food was absolutely amazing. Stonewood has always been a favorite, but based on this last visit, it is truly my favorite restaurant.
Stonewood and the staff were extremely accommodating-we had a older wheelchair bound guest, and they were very helpful, and understanding. They gave us an easy access table and were solicitous throughout. The menu was what we’ve come to expect, and all four appetizers and dinners were perfectly prepared and served.
Food here is always good. Was not crowded at 5:30 on a Sunday and was happy hour until 7:00.
To start with, everything we had was delicious. However...
We waited and waited for a server to take our order. We waited and waited for our drinks. We waited and waited and waited and waited for our apps. 90 seconds later, our entrees arrived. Nothing at all, then everything at once. The interminable waiting was back for our dessert and check.
A very tasty mean, but a very annoying experience.
First visit in many years. Delightful waitress and food was delivered quickly and according to our order. Food was served hot and our pasta dish was delicious. Portions were large enough that I would have felt uncomfortable if I'd had desert. Would definitely try it again for a special night out.
Waiter claimed managers didn’t know how to apply open table coupon. Manager claims he wasn’t aware. 30 minutes of waiting and the blame was passed. Very unenjoyable evening out our which I do not wish to revisit. Is it open table that makes this so difficult or are the restaurants just not trained on what to do??
Always live dining at Stonewood and Cassie was an outstanding server.
We were there for a Valentine’s double date with close friends. Our server, Emerald, was exceptional. The food was good as well. I ordered the shrimp and scallops entree and found it to be well seasoned and tasty. My hubby enjoyed his prime rib. We’ll be back!
Really enjoyed our Valentine dinner. Thanks to Ty on the bar and the floor staff for great service.
Very pleasant and server very attentive
Jenna provided great server, and made the evening a special experience.
Great fine dining with their food, service and atmosphere. It has a local feeling with a good menu variety selections from pasta, seafood and beef. They also have specialty entrees. Also available is a deluxe hamburger and pot pie. For appetizers I recommend the bruschetta and crab & spinach combination dish. And do not leave without enjoying the creme brûlée.
Everything was top notch! And even on busy Valentine’s d
Service and food always good. Plenty for the price.
Great place for a family of 3 to celebrate Valentine's Day. We made it our tradition now to come here for Valentine's Day every year. Food is delicious and service is impeccable.
We enjoyed very much and the service was great and the food cooked to perfection
Food was wonderful...service was exceptional. I will definitely be back next time I am I Jacksonville.
Have been there a number of times, got right in, odd thing was the booth we got my feet were 3" off the floor and I am 5' 8", not real short. Our waitress was ok, friendly, but didn't know that rye and bourbon were different. Tried to order a Manifest Rye which was on the list of stocked items and they were out and didn't have another rye to offer. The food was tasty and hot. The wedge was pretty good, but the lettuce was rusty in parts and not real appetizing.
Normally, a great place to go, but this trip was just ok.
We were celebrating early our first Valentine's Day together! We had some lovely red wine (he had PEPPERWOOD GROVE Pinot Noir & I had SHOOTING STAR BY STEELE WINES – ZINFANDEL) and a shared appetizer (StoneBits). For an Entree, I had the GRILLED CHICKEN, ASPARAGUS & BRIE SALAD and my companion had the SEAFOOD CAVATAPPI. Everything was quite tasty and really outstanding! I had plenty of salad to take home for the next day! The portions were generous, and service was excellent!
Our "go to" for a special neighborhood restaurant. Always consistent. Always very good.
