Dinner was excellent and Emerald our server was great!
Food and service was great!
It had been a while since I had eaten at stonewood. It was very good enjoyed it and it was not noisy. Great experience
Love the menu! I don’t know when it changed, but it was wonderful. So many excellent choices. We also caught part of Happy Hour on a Friday night! Will definitely be back.
Our favorite neighborhood “happy hour” place! Kylie was a great server .......and Kyle is also really terrific !
Be sure to make a reservation regardless of time or day. Delicious food and excellent service
I had the Beef Boursin medallions, which were good, I thought there were four when I bought the same dish before. This time there were only three that seemed sort of small. The best part of our evening was when our server ( who was wonderful) surprised us with a fantastic chocolate bread pudding with a Jim Beam butter sauce and vanilla ice cream for our 38th Anniversary along with two glasses of champagne. That was truly a surprise. My husband said it was the best dessert he’s had in a long time! We’ll be ordering that again. Thank you.
My friend and I had a wonderful meal at the Stonewood Grill & Tavern. We ended up choosing to sit at a booth in the bar area. For a Thursday night they had a steady stream of customers coming in. I noticed it is an older crowd. The atmosphere was very nice. they have tv's placed around the bar. Our waiter was very nice and took our order quickly. He brought a basket with an assortment of bread items to munch on while we waited. Our meal arrived in a very timely fashion. I had the cheeseburger and my friend order their steak salad. My cheeseburger came with fries. My meal was very hot. Not a complaint. The hamburger was thick and juicy and cooked med well as I had ordered. My only problem was that with the nose level. They had music playing and on top of the people around the bar area it was difficult to have a conversation and hear what my friend was saying. All and all it was a very good meal and I do plan on returning again.
Good is excellent and selection very diversified for different choices each night. Our server seemed to be MIA several times. As with the last time we had server problems another server by the name of Aleesha inquired if we needed help. Seems she is the most customer centric employee in the place.
We've heard good things about Stonewood and decided to give it a try and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent. Our waitress was very friendly but not as attentive as we would have liked. Our saying is if we have an empty cup of coffee/water the wait staff is not doing their job and that was the case the night we visited. I would recommend Stonewood.
Savanna waited on us. We were very satisfied with her service.
The food was excellent. The service was poor. We do not attribute this to being a busy time (Mother’s Day). The server seemed to just be going through the motions; not personable at all. The server never asked how our food was (not after the salad, not after the main course and not after dessert).
The server did not seem to notice that we had no silverware. We flagged someone else and they brought us each a fork and knife; but no napkin. We then flagged our server to ask for a napkin. The server went to the bar, grabbed a bunch of paper cocktail napkins, put them on the table and sprinted away. We then flagged the other person who brought us two cloth dinner napkins.
We ordered the chocolate mousse cake for dessert. The server placed the dessert on the table and again quickly walked away. We noticed that the whipped cream had entirely melted. When we touched the plate, it was extremely hot to the touch. The chocolate mousse cake is chilled. The mousse started to quickly melt, as well. We mentioned to the server that maybe a chilled dessert should not be served on a hot plate; we asked because we were not asked by the server if we enjoyed the dessert. No apology from the server; response from the server: “Good point”.
Not sure, but we may have been overcharged for an ala carte lobster tail.
We will return. As said, the food was excellent. The restaurant has a nice ambience. Maybe, the server just needs some additional training on how to be more personable, attentive and ensure that guests feel welcome.
Love Richard for taking good care of us. Great good and staff!
They did not get us a table until 20 minutes after our reservation start time, so that did not make my son very happy. Then the bread they brought had only one white roll so one kid wasn’t so happy and we had to wait a long time for another white one. My kids each got cheeseburgers and one was normal the other was bright red in the middle. So much so that I saw the person who was checking on everything spy it from across the table and hesitantly ask if everything was ok. Luckily the kid that got it didn’t even notice but still....any normal kid (and me as an adult) would have not eaten that. I got the flounder with crab on top, we got the chocolate mousse cake and calamari. Everything was mediocre. Maybe because it was a busy night. IDK.
Service was outstanding. Food is excellent. The decor of the restaurant is a little dated, but it’s clean and organized. Definitely will come back.
Never Disappoints! Our favorite place to get good food and service!
This had been one of our favorite restaurants for years. Being mother's Day we decided to go out and try it once again. Setting down we noticed they had a Mother's Day special which was supposed to be their prime rib, lobster tail and two vegetables for I believe $35. My wife decided to go with that. We also were treated with a free bruschetta which was excellent. However 10 minutes after ordering the waitress came back to inform us they were out of rare prime rib and all they could offer us was medium or well. Obviously that was not even an option since she wanted rare. She was very disappointed as she really was looking forward to the prime rib as was I. The waitress checked and was able to swap the prime rib for a ribeye and it ended up being very good. Overall the meal was excellent except for the disappointment of not being able to get prime rib. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meal.
Service staff is always efficient and well trained.
We celebrated Mother’s Day a day early and it was wonderful!!
Food is always outstanding at Stonewood and our servers were friendly and attentive. We will be back!
My husband and I celebrated our 51st Anniversary at Stonewood Grill and Tavern. Jenna was an outstanding server. She had a delightful personality and made our dining experience an excellent one.
Our dinner was superb.
We thank you for the nice glass of Champagne and the delightful dessert. We had such a lovely Anniversary at the Stonewood Grill and Tavern in Jacksonville.
Reservation was. Ready on arrival. Service, food and drinks very good. Enjoyed.
I think my friends had a great meal and visit. I was horribly sick before I got home. I live almost an hour from the restaurant and it was an indescribable trip.
As I am gluten free I can only think my food was not carefully prepared or was cross contaminated. I have not had this degree of reaction in three years. I am paranoid when I go out to eat and always very cautious. This was my third visit to Stonewood and the two previous were positive, I was confident when coming.
I am sorry I will not be able to come to eat again. I will recommend it highly to those of my friends that do not have any food issues or allergies. Those of us who do, I will have give them a very cautious warning.
Food ok at best.
Service GREAT - May have been just a bad night!
Stonewood has been around for years and it’s always a goto. We are never disappointed. The food is always on point.
We love Stonewood Grill and have for years. Fantastic food, a comfortable place to eat and always have had better than average service!
We brought family from out of town here. Their Stonewood Grill closed 2 years ago and they had always loved it there. Made my reservation with open table and we were seated right when we arrived. That was about the only good thing that night. Over booked under staffed. Bruschetta was soggy, steak under cooked. No bread until our entree’s arrived an hour after placing our order. We had to flag our waiter down to remind him he forgot our drink refill, sour cream, etc...certainly not worth the money.
Delicious food. Reasonably priced. Excellent service
Stonewood is consistently a positive experience. It provides quality dining with a lovely atmosphere. The weekly specials for wine is helpful to manage the costs of dining out. The wait staff is always courteous and attentive to details. Not many higher quality establishments offer chicken pot pie and burgers to compliment their steaks and seafood.
I was a little disappointed with our dinner at this restaurant. I ordered flounder but they were out so sole was recommended. It was just ok. The serving size was mediocre. Bread was average. Rice was good but a small portion. The best part was the chocolate Martina. Ambiance was average. I probably will not go back to this restaurant.
Went for Easter Dinner. Service was as if you could not find enough staff so you put anyone on that you could find. Entrees were slopped on the plate. Steaks were so over seasoned I might as well have ordered them Cajun blackened. Inedible. Sides were horribly overcooked and/or flavorless (tri color potatoes shriveled and brussels sprouts which claim to be balsamic sprouts had no balsamic and were hard as a rock). Chicken sandwich had little crumbles of bacon on it. Ahi Tuna was cut incorrectly and therefore had more sinu then necessary.
Stonewood used to be our go to restaurant for special occasions (holidays, anniversaries, etc.) What happened? It was awful and I do not know if I would ever go back. You should be as embarrassed for what you served as I was angry for paying what I did for it.
We frequent this restaurant as it is just a mile from our home and has a menu to please everyone in the group. The service is always good. The food is very good, but not great. Nice place for a fairly quiet meal in this age of noisy restaurants!
As always another great meal. The food and service was wonderful.
Easter with Family
Stonewood is our favorite place to celebrate, to have a quiet meal, just to get great food and atmosphere. We have never had a meal that was not delicious! Our go-to restaurant!
Excellent flavor on the food, asparagus could have been a bit more. everything else was great.
Everything worked well and as always the service was excellent. The food was great. Thank you for being open on Easter. It was a lovely meal with our 94 yr old mom and she enjoyed it very much!
It was my parents 55th Anniversary & there 1st time there. Everything was perfect right from the beginning. Everyone fussed over them & made them feel special. Our server, Alison, was absolutely exceptional. The mgr came with Prosecco for us to toast my parents which was very thoughtful. We will certainly be back & refer our friends & Family. Thank you all so much! Happy Easter! 😊
Always pleased with Stonewood. Our favorite place.
Always a good restaurant whether you want a large meal or just sandwiche or salads.
