Stonewood Grill & Tavern - Brandon Ratings and Reviews
All in our group of six celebrating a 75th birthday were well pleased with the seating accomodations, noise level, light level, prompt service (Brandi), food quality and
courtresy. Was visited by manager for a very cordial conversation about how pleased
we were with everything. Two newcomers from Plant City were pleasantly surprised and
without doubt will be returning. Was happy that I was able to introduce them to a new
experience at a beautiful restaurant in Brandon. Must also mention how well Britney, Kate
and Sara took care of us at the bar. A most pleasurable experience for all.
The food was good and hot as usual, but the serving sizes appear to have been decreased somewhat. We also had to remind the server to bring our wine, but otherwise the service was good. Have been a longtime patron, and will continue, but the value has gone down a little bit. Still very good atmosphere.
I love this restaurant. We are always seated right away when we have a reservation. I've never had a bad meal here and the prices are perfect. We like to eat here because it's quiet and private enough to have an intimate conversation. The sangria is very good and the steaks are always perfectly done. Great choice, excellent service and fantastic food! It's one of our favorites.
My blackened chicken pasta was amazing..however my boyfriend's steak came out rare instead of medium. It was sent back...then charred to the point the outside was totally black. They "fixed" it by taking the side salad and two beers off his tab. We won't be back. Server was great though.
The restaurant was very quiet and staff was friendly. There are several options for dinner that range from $15-$30+. We both had a steak, which were prepared perfectly. We were there for our anniversary, and we noted on our reservations, however there was no mention of it from the staff. That aside, it was a very good meal, staff was very nice, and we did enjoy ourselves. We will likely return, but probably not for a special occasion.
This was my first time visiting. I ordered the chicken breast kid's meals for my twins and the chicken was so dry that I had to request barbecue sauce.
The waitress was extremely slow. Countless times we had to request a refill, napkins, and even the check. Overall, it was a nice restaurant but it wasn't for me. I will not be returning.
This evening the food was very good. It needed a couple tweaks though. The dish I ordered was a new chicken dish with pasta and there was about a tablespoon of sauce so it was dry. I had to ask for more. My sister ordered the grouper sandwich and she got a piece of fish and a plain bun. There was not sauce, mayo, lettuce, tomato, nothing on it. I think that was a mistake. A friend ordered a grouper entrée and was happy with hers. The only problem with this restaurant is that it is hit and miss. Last time our meal was not good. This time it was very good after the adjustments. The waitress AMBER was EXCELLENT. The lemon drop martinis were also very good.
We had never been to Stonewood before but had received a gift card from a friend and so decided to try it on our anniversary. We were not disappointed!! Excellent service, delicious cocktails and great happy hour deals on wine for my parents. Three of us had a steak type of meal and Dad had the Pork Marsala which he loved. Our steaks were served at the correct level of done-ness and delicious. Mom requested the end piece of the prime rib and was rewarded with a lovely and large portion of her favorite cut. The creamed spinach was delicious as well as the breads in the basket--all winners but the pretzel rolls stood out. We were also surprised with a large slice of key lime pie for our anniversary which everyone shared. A great experience that we will definitely repeat again.
Went to celebrate a birthday which I put in comment section of reservation. I also told the Host upon arrival. The persons wife told the waitress it was his birthday he might have got a free desert but nothing else. The table across from us had a birthday they got a candle and a song. Very unhappy about this situation.
I thought for the money the food portion was small but tasty and the meal was cold but my fault for not saying anything as I did not want to hold the party I was with up when they were done with there meal.
But all in all I would give them a second chance as every body or restaurant has a bad day now and then.
Very good as always! This is our special occasion go to place! Tried something different this time... They're running $16 specials and I had the blueberry chicken just as pictured. It was delicious! Hubby had grilled salmon and likewise was delicious. Never had a bad meal here!
We dined at Stonewood Grill in Brandon on a weeknight for our anniversary and looked forward to a good quality meal and a special experience without having to drive into Tampa to a nice restaurant. Unfortunately we were disappointed. Both my husband's filet mignon and my prime rib were cooked incorrectly (we ordered medium, both were served very, very rare). A baked potato was undercooked/hard, the salads and rolls were just average, the iced tea was very strong and had to be watered down. Our server was nice, but seemed a bit new and spoke so low at times we could hardly hear her. Overall, for the price of the meal we felt it was not a good value (way overpriced for the quality) and we will probably not return.
