We have “discovered “Stone’s Throw”Restaurant recently and really enjoy eating there.The food was excellent,however,this last time we asked for our three sirloin burgers to be medium well and all three almost mooed!
Otherwise,the meals have been perfect and desserts sublime.The apple tart was beyond wonderful.
The staff,food,view are something to brag about to friends.We will be returning.

My date and I chose this place because of the good reviews it was getting. Got there on time and we were seated immediately. Hostess was very professional. The waitstaff was a little lacking as we sat for at least 10 minutes before we were acknowledged. Finally got menus and ordered drinks. My beer showed up quickly but my dates drink did not. Waitress finally comes back to the table to ask what she had ordered. 2 minutes goes by and then the drink shows up. No specials that night due to the fact that they had a wedding reception there that afternoon. I ordered bouillabaisse and date ordered the duck breast. My dish was ok, the mussels were dried out and the sauce was just ok. My dates duck came out nicely but the presentation was horrible. Two large chunks of duck meat with the sauce on it and the veggies. The thing that really bothered us was that the side room they had the reception was also access to the deck and the doors were open . As it was cold out that evening we asked them to close the doors a number of times. Finally I got up and closed them.

We were seated in a glass greenhouse with no artificial lighting – not even a candle on the table and acoustics were horrible.

Service was poor and not because of lack of staff. Honestly, our waiter was a nice guy but seemed clueless as to how to be a waiter. Bread was very good but we had to ask for it. 2nd round of drinks was not brought until we were done with our meal, and even then, one drink was forgotten.

Quality of our entrées ranged from excellent (bouillabaisse) to poor. The best description of the diver scallops is odd. When you see a description of a dish that is diver scallops with prosciutto and wilted spinach with a lemon sauce, you don’t expect scallops with no browning, inconsistently cut CHUNKS of prosciutto, a few pieces of spinach tossed on top, and a tasteless sauce. Finger potatoes with not a speck of browning on them. Honestly not sure if these were even scallops - not as small as bay scallops but not the size of typical divers and not one of them was in a single whole piece.

The food was great. Wonderful choices for kids. The patio was open and the view was spectacular.

We went for Sunday brunch.The service and food were outstanding.We enjoyed ourselves and we will be coming back.

We were seated at a window front table as requested. Waiter was very attentive... almost too much in fact, but that was OK. It wasn't crazy busy so he had the time to make sure we were fine. The food was plentiful and extremely delicious! Can't wait to return on a warm summer day so that we can enjoy the wonderful patio, sunshine and music.

They renovated recently and the food is much better. Drinks are excellent. Decor and ambiance are very relaxing. They were very accommodating of my food allergies and modified/substituted items without a problem. Location right on the river is beautiful and they have a lot of outdoor seating, so we will definitely be back in the summer to sit outside.

Nice formal dining experience, food well prepared, relaxed environment with open view of Housatonic River. The bar menu offers burgers and wraps if just grubbin' a chow down. Outdoor seating and happy hour/live music entertaining time spent.

Been here 3x. First 2 were for the bar menu which everything was wonderful. Went for dinner Saturday. Hub really enjoyed hangar steak. Mom’s crab cakes were really good. My boullibase was not good. Scallops and shrimp were so over cooked. The scallops had the texture of over cooked swordfish. Huge gritty muscles and 1 clam that wasn’t warm. The broth was decent. I didn’t complain, as my 94 yr old mom was treating us. On our previous visits, we loved the fried potatoes so much that we requested a side order so hub could try them. Was told we couldn’t order them. I asked him to please check with the kitchen, and he came back and said no, you can’t order them. He was very nice, and a good waiter - Eduardo, but I persisted and asked if the people at the bar tables were also not able to get the fries. Apparently if we were at the bar tables we could get them. He came back 2 minutes later and said they would let us have them. A minute later a tray goes by for a table in the adjacent room with 3 orders of fries. I totally understand that you don’t want your dining room used for people only ordering a few apps, but that wasn’t the case here. We had full dinners and cocktails. On top of that, the first Pinot Grigio came out in the smallest carafe I’ve ever seen. My hub remarked that it looked like a sample. The 2nd was in a wine glass and a more decent pour. Aside from these hiccups we probably will return again, but sit at the bar tables. We actually spent more $ on the bar food and it was all excellent. Wonderful choices, and way above typical bar food.

There was a band playing in the bar. It was loud and we probably should have sat in the far room but the ambiance is nicer in the first dining room. Food was good - pasta and a lamb rack. Drinks cold and delish. Waitress was 👍🏼👍🏼

Nice brunch menu! Can’t wait to go for dinner!! Great food great service bottomless bloody Mary’s where awesome! Also live jazz on Sunday u just can’t hear it in the room we where in...so I guess that’s my only complaint...we had to listen to music from my phone
