   Can’t fault the food or service at stones. The food was outstanding at the price point and the wine they suggested was also great

   We treat ourselves to an evening meal here two or three times a year. Doesn't seem to matter what you choose from the menu it's always delicious.

   This jem of a restaurant is down a steep flight of stone steps, but totally worth the effort. The staff are extremely helpful and caring. Nothing is too much trouble. The format of the meal is perfect with detailed menus, to tempt ones pallet The restsurant caters for all levels of taste. I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to eat special food in superb surrounding, which overlook the river.

   Superb cocktails on the River terrace. Excellent variety. We had the tasting menu.

   Our favourite venue for meals with family and friends . Brilliant food, wines and service . Perfect venue for leisurely lunch.

   Having not gone before to Stone's restaurant, we booked probably rather hastily after the place where we wanted to eat had no tables available. We had no real grid as to what to expect. The ambience, the well trained staff and white table cloths were all wonderful and the canapés and small 'in between' dishes were very tasty. However the main course for us did not deliver. Haute cuisine is not our preferred eating style and the tiny portions, though artistically presented were a disappointment. We should have done our homework about the restaurant truly but after asking for the meat to be cooked 'medium' when it arrived my husband's duck was so very pink that to him it was inedible. He took my lamb and I his duck but I also had difficulty. I know many would say that that is the way to serve duck but not for us! The manager was very apologetic and did grace us with a free desert . Overall, if you like Haute cuisine and don't mind very pink duck, the restaurant would be actually a great experience. Very attentive staff but not overly so, obviously well trained, beautifully presented and tasty canapés and interim courses. For us though, an expensive night out that left us hungry.

   Excellent as always - pre dinner cocktails by the river , our favourite restaurant.
