   Really nice pub, serving home-cooked food that’s actually cooked by chefs that know what they’re doing, using ingredients that are clearly well-sourced, and served by friendly staff that are on top of their game! Have recommended this pub to many friends already. Thank you for another excellent meal out 👍 Nick Bailey

   Food was lovely but I was disappointed with the ambience (or lack of). After all the online comments following the refurbishment I was expecting something a bit more upmarket to reflect the prices. It looks like the same pub to me with a different coat of paint.

   Was really looking forward to this Sunday lunch as we had heard that they had overcome their teething problems. The place was fairly busy but not packed. We had quite a wait for the food, around 45 minutes plus, and when it arrived it was average. A sparse lamb dinner (the meat was tough and chewy) made to look larger with the addition of a Yorkshire pudding. Wasn't worth £14 per head. There are other places locally that you can get the same quality for half the price. Just glad we didn't bother with wine, which would have come in at around £28 a bottle. Shame really, because the place has been renovated to a good standard. We aren't big complainers, we talk with our feet, won't be going again.

   Excellent food and the waitress was lovely, blonde lady from Czech Republic. She took the time to engage in conversation with all tables and made it a special experience. Service a little slow , we had to ask twice for our drinks other than that a great experience. We went for mother’s day and had 3 courses for £22 each including prosecco which was really good value for money.

   Mother’s Day meal. Unbelievable service it was fantastic. The food was brilliant and enjoyable. Great offer of 2 or 3 set meals for the day. Drinks a little expensive be great all round

   Overall very good, service a bit slow. Service staff very pleasant and hospitable. Wine a bit on the expensive side.

    Arrived to be told that the pizza oven wasn’t fired up because it was outside and pizzas would be cold by the time they brought them to us ?! This took out nearly half the menu. Mashed potatoe was wet and sloppy and tasteless. Chips were good and Chicken Caesar Salad was good. Overall the food was pretty disappointing. The refurbishment is disappointing and appears to have been done on the cheap. The old windows frames are still there with lashings of gloss paint, as is the single glazing. The internal cladding has been painted dark blue, but poorly painted as the bare would can still be seen at the joins. Either that or since the wood has shrunk they haven’t bothered to touch it up. Overall, probably Ok for a lunch but disappointing for an evening meal.
