Wonderful Staff. Great food and well worth the price for high end dining
Ate just after resturant opened. Good service but there was a downer in play. My Caesar salad was served in a small soup bowl instead of a plate. Then there was a over abundance of anchovy paste I the Caesar salad dressing. The shrimp & grits special was good but I never understand while they serve this dish with the tails on. This won’t keep me from coming back though.
Outstanding filet mignon, tasty sides and great salads.
Perfect as always. We love the atmosphere, the employees are so kind and the food is absolutely delicious! We went with the tomahawk this time and it was incredible. Always a great time and great food.
The 8 oz prime filet was so delicious. We both had it, and both our plates were clean. The crème brûlée was a perfect finish, but wait - there's also a chocolate mint at the end! Fabulous meal.
One of the best steaks we have had in a long time!
Outstanding service and meal! Great place for celebrations or a quiet evening out.
Went out for my birthday.
We waited two hours for our food. They were very busy and seemed overwhelmed.
We had the best experience at Stonehouse! We had a quiet table for two and the manager checked in on us multiple times during the meal. I was concerned because there was a large table next to us with reserved signs. I told my husband that it might get loud in here but no one ever sat at the table. There were beers poured and waiting for people, but no one came. We got our meal and the artichoke dip was so delicious. Our steak was perfect. We very much enjoyed our experience. As we were leaving, I asked the waitress what happened to the party that was supposed to be at the table next to us and she said those beers and table were for the 13 fallen soldiers in Afghanistan this past week. I nearly started crying right there. The dinner was so delightful, but the patriotism displayed by the owner/manager by far outweighed the wonderful meal. We are from out of town and would easily choose to come here again next time we are in town. Go visit!
Great night. Most impressed by the tribute to the 13 fallen soldiers in the prime seating in the restaurant. Well-done Stonehouse. That will keep me coming back, period. Food and drink excellent, too.
First time here and it was outstanding! The atmosphere, service, food was amazing! Best spinach dip I’ve ever had! Steaks were tender and cooked perfectly to our liking. The bar tender made the most excellent margaritas!!! It was a little pricey but we were celebrating our 40th anniversary and it was worth every penny!!! Highly recommend StoneHouse!
This was our first time to eat at Stonehouse..we chose to for our anniversary Loved dinner. Staff was great. Great experience. We will definitely go back!
Steaks felt boiled and not cooked. We were seated outside and bombarded with flies. I guess there is an up charge for ice, as were given very little for our tea. The Mac and cheese was good, but the meat felt like it was cooked in a skillet that wasn’t heated properly and high enough. Maybe it was an off night, but I don’t recommend. Try Doe’s Eat Place if you want steak for close to the same price.
The outdoor patio seating on July 16th was perfect in every aspect (weather, temp, and ambience). Our server (Darlene) was great and attentive although they had her spread out all over the the outdoor seating area which made for moderate delays in addressing requests (more water, iced tea, etc). This is where there is a fork in the road. It took a tad over 3 hours from being seated to signing for our bill. Both Darlene and the bartender came by to express their empathy about the kitchen being sooooo very slow in getting out what were simple entrée' orders (3 filets, 1 salmon, 1 scallop special). I will give them a pass this time because the food was perfectly cooked and the presentation was nice, the service staff were very good, and the ambience was perfect. As a chef myself, the kitchen should "NEVER" take three hours to get such simple dimple entrees out. Shame on the chef for allowing this take place but I will be back and give this a third try!
Stonehouse is always great.
Really enjoyed the food, steak were great. Cheese board was actually a charcuterie.
Service was excellent but it was a very slow Thursday night when we went for our first time. As a chef myself, the food was well prepared, nice plating, and very well cooked. The sticker shock was out of line for my meal as a $48 filet with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables was bordering on outrageous. In Dallas, that same meal would cost 15% less. Oh well, we will come back for another try.
Great food and experience
I was looking forward to dinner out w my girls. Reserver w table for six. Upon arrival, we were seated promptly and kindly. Waitress was nice but not completely available. Most of us would have ordered a second round of drinks had she come to check on us more than just after our food was served. Now, the food. I ordered the yardbird w a side order of mushroom risotto. My chicken was so dry I had to gulp half a glass of water to wash it down. I don't send food back but I did this time. I wasn't paying $30 for dry chicken w zero flavor. The risotto had no flavor other than mushroom .. no seasoning and it was mushy, too mushy, even for risotto. My friends steak was incredible, my friends shrimp scampi was good, my friends blackened salmon was so-so, other two girls had salad that they enjoyed. The blueberry martini was the best thing I had there. Highly disappointed and absolutely unimpressed. I could have made us a better dinner at home for far less. Won't be going back.
The setting was absolutely amazing with some light piano in the back ground, the wait was well worth it.Some of the best cuts of steak I have ever had with the most perfect scenery sitting directly in front of me!
Staff was attentive and food was delicious as always; however, the acoustics in the restaurant make it impossible to have a conversation. We will return again and again though.
The Stonehouse has a beautiful setting. The food was excellent. Great dining experience.
Stonehouse is my favorite restaurant so I dine there often. Unfortunately my last visit was not good specifically the service. When I was seated I was given a menu and I had to ask for my waitress after 20 minutes. We then ordered beverages and appetizers.
Our first course of salads did not have any dressing. 15 minutes later we asked for our waitress again to request salad dressing. When the waitress came over she had our entree’s. We needed steak knives so those were delivered but our meals were no longer warm. But the toppings for our entrees were missing so the waitress said you will not be charged for the additional toppings. Alas the appetizers arrived, but just one, so we mentioned it and said don’t worry about it. It was brought to us right before we received the check. Hats off to the bartender who assisted with tea, water, cutlery and ponzu sauce.
Seated in in small 2 seat table against corner at 5:30...and proceeded to fill in tables around us with a large group in center of room celebrating. We ordered drinks and Had appetizer of jalapeños sushi (it was quite good - sadly the only thing that was....) our entrees of yard bird was very dry and the shrimp scampi was also a bit dry (hardly any sauce).
Cant say I’ll return but thought we try it.
The food and service were awesome.
I wish I could comment on the food but since we never received our food after waiting an hour and fifteen minutes, we gave up and left. We were seated promptly for our 12:30 Easter Brunch reservation and water was served. Our server came back in a few minutes and took our orders. After waiting 45 minutes with no one checking on us, I finally waved down another server to see if he could check on our food. He came back and assured us the kitchen told him it would only be another five minutes. Our server finally came to ask if we needed anything (having forgotten that my husband ordered coffee when she took our orders). We waited another 25 minutes and finally after two tables that were seated after us got their food, we gave up and left. I was so looking forward to coming on Friday nights to listen to the live music but there is no way my husband will ever come back here.
We were seated outside with no shade and all four of us went home with significant sunburns. Our orders weren't taken for a half hour after we were seated and our food took two hours to prepare. Fortunately the server tried to take as best care of us as he could but they were clearly unprepared for an Easter Brunch.
Good overall experience
Server went above and beyond! I’ve never had such outstanding service. We had our 3 year old daughter with us and the waiter did everything in his power to appease her. Made our night so much better. 5 stars!
What is very cold until waitress turn the air up for us. Food was excellent but one of our plates came out with the wrong food. Our drinks were good but then again we had to wait forever to get them like 15 minutes also one of our bar drinks came out wrong. Very very frustrating when you pay $500 for a meal for birthday. Was super excited to have our daughters party here and it backfired in my face a little bit this time. The service used to be a lot better and Stone House. Overall it was just one of those very frustrating dinners and we are polite so we just dealt with it. I would say that I normally would recommend to go there but at this point after our last experience I will not recommend for groups!
Atmosphere was great. Drinks were ok. We got the brat platter and it was filling. Service was great!
Lovely atmosphere. Great service. Ask for the chef’s special... it is always on point!
Always a great experience at Stonehouse.
Our hostess told us our table was booked for an 8:30. We were shocked! What did she want us to do-eat fast, don’t visit, no dessert. You never tell a guest that the table is booked after them. So rude! We eat out all the time and have traveled and eaten at wonderful restaurants. I have never had a host or hostess tell us such a thing.
Please train your hostess.
The salmon was very good. The salad was a hand full of spinach 3 slices of strawberry and goat cheese the dressing was great!!!! The filet ordered was medium but came out rare with no grill marks. The table beside me there steak looked very good. We had bananas foster the chocolate cake was so dry!!!!! And bananas was not cooked as like bananas foster supposed too
The steaks were cooked perfectly and tasted amazing! We really enjoyed our dinner. I highly recommend this place. We will be back!
This was my husbands birthday and we were enjoying a night out without the kids. We were expecting a tomahawk but they had run out. We were surprised they currently had a porter house which we were also interested in trying so it worked out great. The steak ended up being cooked more well than medium but either way the steak melted in your mouth. Potato wedges were our favorite side. And the Cesar salads and the bread that came with it were also above and beyond my expectations. The staff was nice but not a personable experience. The volume of the restaurant did fluctuate from a great volume of music to having complete silence other than some whispers from other tables, making it kind of awkward. There was also a very long turn around on our drink orders, but the quality of drink was top shelf worthy. Overall we enjoyed the experience but there are some minor things I would love to see worked on.
It took an hour to get our 2 entrees, understandably but our server was really not very attentive until the latter end of our visit. She was probably overwhelmed with her other tables, but our drinks stayed fairly empty during the wait. We would’ve spent much more on drinks had we been visited more frequently. Loved the patio service!
My reservation did not go through, I had to argue to get a table and when I was seated I was told we are out of pretty much everything.
