Opened in August 2013, Stoneacre Pantry was a neighborhood restaurant focused on sustainability and a positive relationship with our local environment. We brought these same values to our newest restaurant in Washington Square in September 2017. Our menu is small, seasonal, and supports nearby farms and fishermen with fish from nearby waters and meats from local farms that raise their animals humanely. The wine list highlights small producers from France.

The food and service were excellent! The ambiance was great. We highly recommend the muscles and creme brûlée!
Liked the atmosphere and although it was quiet which was mainly due to our early reservation. Service was courteous, responsive and on point. Food had an American bistro feel and the drinks were excellent; bar staff knew their stuff. We would definitely recommend Stoneacre bistro to friends visiting Newport. Parking was also plentiful (by meter) around the block, too.
Party of four enjoyed an excellent meal. Service was slightly slow, however pleasant.
The servers were friendly. The food was incredible, the best meal I’ve had all year. I ordered an elderberry lemon spritzer as my drink. It was delicious. It was our anniversary and they gave us free champagne after our meal! I love the decor in there, the tile floor reminds me of the airport in Paris.
We were coming from the Newport Folk Festival, so we were hungry! Food and wine were great! We got the table in the front alcove and were able to have our festival chairs and backpacks around the table and out of the way. Worked out great!
Awesome! We had a lovely dinner!
Amazing food, amazing service!
We had a wonderful meal! The service was attentive. We had a great view of a rainbow. Overall, a lovelt evening!
The Farm to table menu is exceptional. Historic industrial vibe very fun and appealing the wait staff is very friendly
We arrived for a reservation and the hostess had to check some things before seating us even though there were many open tables. Then after sitting and waiting a bit of time with zero acknowledgment I actually had to ask someone passing by if they were our server. While they were extraordinarily friendly it felt understaffed. But then I noticed the menu in house is not the menu on OpenTable. Some of the items are the same but many are eliminated and they apologized for the fact that open table had so many items that are no longer available. Given this fact we decided we would order drinks and an appetizer and go somewhere else for dinner. But the appetizer came out so salty we took our initial bites and had to send it back.
Cocktails and servers were great!
Upon arrival, 4 employees noticed up but never acknowledge us or that the hostess will be with us shortly.
Food was good, limited menu but interesting. Not sure the prices are relative of the menu.
Coffee was served cold, creme brûlée was undercooked but had good taste.
Everything was great except the creme brûlée was off a bit.
It is a nice restaurant, but at 5:30 on a Sunday there was loud music playing in the front bar dining area, and less music but tons of unruly kids in the back dining area. None of the wait staff appeared to know the menu or have any experience.
Great brunch. Comfortable seating, service was very good and food was great!
Great spot in heart of Newport. Delicious food. Service a little slow but nice staff! Coffee was very bitter.
Overall excellent brunch with good food and great atmosphere delicious food
Very cute part of town. Old Fashioned and other drinks were excellent. Steak on the steak frites was really hard to chew - much left on the plate. I would go back just skip the steak.
It wasn’t acknowledged
thank you MacKenzie and the chef for a lovely meal.
My 3 stars is because of portion size. Food was delicious, but I left starving. I ordered the kale salad with shrimp. Yo their credit, they tell you in advance that they are charging $12 for 4 shrimp, but I assumed they would be large in size. They were not. What is worse is that the kale salad itself was incredibly small portioned. A few bites of kale and not much else. Thank god I ordered the deviled eggs for an appetizer or I would have had to order something else. Why skimp on ingredients that do y even cost them much? Why allow customers to feel so deprived of food? The rest of my family had similarly sized portions. I know this is true of many restaurants these days: overpriced small portions. Head over to Jo’sAmerican Bistro for excellent food and very generous portion sizes, and a great ambience. Sadly I won’t be returning here.
Great atmosphere, food, and service. Highlights were the smoked trout deviled eggs and the chocolate mousse. Cocktails were inventive and tasty. Entree portion sizes were perfect.
Unfortunately, it did not resonate at all with me. They have 2 different venues. This was their supposedly higher end venue. It felt more like glorified bar. The food was well prepared but uniformly lacked flavor. The pasta was overwhelmed by mushroom flavor. The olives lacked seasoning. The beets were, well beets. The food looked the part, but unfortunately, did not hit home with my palate. The limited dessert choices were also disappointing. Sorry.
Great food very well presented. Vibrant colors and striking art on the walls. Good cocktails and friendly efficient service. A+ highly recommend!
Fantastic beverage program, great food, service, and pretty much the only place I frequent when I’m there for work!
Stoneacre has been in this location for about 5 years now. It is a good place to go to meet a group and it has a variety of seating options, tables, high tops, bar, etc. The food is average but the menu is different from other restaurants. The waiter was efficient but lacking in personality. It was Sunday night, maybe he had had a long weekend. The restaurant is very noisy and we were in a nice corner by a window. We have had great meals there, this was not one of them but I would go back for a casual Sunday evening meal.
Great restaurant! The food & vibes were great. Would def come back again
First time to restaurant. We are here for a month and this was supposed to be our special dinner with our daughters who came for weekend. I had booked it over a month ago. When we arrived we were told that our table was the one in the window by the door where people were lined up to check in. No ambience or view of actual restaurant. We were told it was our only choice or we could eat at the bar. We could have a table but had to finish in under an hour. I guess there were several large groups in back rooms. We would have appreciated a call in advance telling us of the poor seating options so we could have saved the uber money and come another time. We chose to eat at bar which was fine except very hard to hear each or talk as we were not facing each other and a pair of guests near us were very loud. Not their fault! They chose to seat at the bar. That said the food was excellent as well as the service. We even enjoyed sipping bourbon as dessert for 3 of us. By the way... several other 4 tops were never filled while we were there from 7:00pm to 8:45pm. I was so excited about coming here. We are coming again later this month with friends that are visiting. We will be sure to make a backup reservation elsewhere in case of a table issue.
Newport trip! Booked on the fly and was not disappointed
Really nice waitstaff, great setting, but unfortunately our food on this visit was mediocre. I had the French onion soup and it was incredibly salty. My daughter had a burger that had an overly spicy sauce she wasn’t expecting. Then I tried the lobster barley risotto with peas: it was watery, the peas tasted neither fresh nor sweet, and the seasoning was strange. I only ate a couple of bites. Nice place for a drink, but I wouldn’t eat a whole meal there again.
Overall good food and service -- Menu somewhat limited but good
Snap pea salad was outstanding! Mussels were great and everything was perfectly done. We loved it and will be back!
Service was amazing. Olivia was very attentive and patient as we took alittle longer than normal to make our decisions. Everything tasted excellent. Definitely glad we went with our gut and chose this place for our last night in town.
The place was about 2/3 full. We ere seated immediately in the back. We were served water right away and placed our drink orders. We waited ten minutes for drinks and had to ask for them. We were offered bread, two pieces that were about the size of a paper dollar bill. We were never offered more.
The meals came, the grilled fish and entree of mussels . The portions were small, the fish filet was the two inches by five. Tasty.
The mussels were served in a dish of a pesto wine broth, not bad. The portion was fair.
We waited agin for our second round of drinks and when my Chardonnay was served it was clear from the condensation on the outside of the glass it had been sitting on the bar awhile before it was served to me.
We elected to get the check and leave and forgo dessert, we did not want to wait all night.
Olivia our server was polite and kind, she made excuses for every delay, but the management should have a better process and not put it on a waitress to explain their short comings, portion size and wait times for food.
Beautiful setting but food wasn’t amazing.
Music level turned up a little high as we were finishing up dinner, but everything else was excellent
The food was average at best and considering the price, I can’t recommend Stoneacre Brasserie. My wife and I ordered the Crispy Cauliflower to start along with the Kale Salad. The tahini dressing for the cauliflower was too citrusy bordering on sour and we could really taste any tahini. The kale salad was the best dish we ordered. For entrees, I had the steak frites. Oddly, the waitress didn’t ask me what temperature I wanted the steak cooked, when I asked afterwards about that, she said it was restaurant policy. Apparently all steak is cooked how the chef likes it. My wife had the Lobster Risotto. The grains were dry and the lobster tasted like it was frozen, not fresh. Overall, it wasn’t up to par from the very high expectations and reviews we’ve heard from friends and read online.
Love this place. Citrus olives, Moroccan almonds, great beers.
Food was overly salted. Decor was nice.
