Opened in August 2013, Stoneacre Pantry was a neighborhood restaurant focused on sustainability and a positive relationship with our local environment. We brought these same values to our newest restaurant in Washington Square in September 2017. Our menu is small, seasonal, and supports nearby farms and fishermen with fish from nearby waters and meats from local farms that raise their animals humanely. The wine list highlights small producers from France and many of our cocktails have house-made components.
Love EVERYTHING about this place and it's not crazy pricey!
Just awesome. Food is incredible. Space is beautiful. Cant recommend enough
Food was great service was even better. Only problem I had was my guest and I were sat WAY too close to another couple. So close it was obviously uncomfortable for the server to get between the tables to take our order. In hindsight I could have asked to move but I felt it was blatantly uncomfortable for all parties. Would definitely return and be more vocal about where I sit next time.
Our waitress was outstanding. I love brasseries in general.
My wife and I tried to duplicate a previous year’s visit recently. During that visit we were both pleasantly surprised at how great the entire experience was. Great service. Intimate table and a nice atmosphere. All the food was delicious. Afterwards we kept talking about how great it was and were eager to go back for the same experience. Unfortunately it was almost the exact opposite. I had made a reservation two weeks in advance we were seated when we arrived.
We were herded into a crowded back room which felt like we were walking into the kitchen and were seated between two other couples at a small table. We weren’t approached by a server until after we sat there for 20 minutes. She asked us if anyone had read us the specials. No they hadn’t. Isn’t that her job? We let her know at that point that we had an hour and twenty five minutes before we were trying to make it to a show. We quickly ordered some appetizers and small plates which she said she would bring out as they were ready due to our timing and we both agreed that sounded like a good idea. But instead they brought everything out at once. We ate what we were served and other wait staff cleared the plates and our table.
And then we were ignored for another 35 minutes. When our server returned she brought us dessert menus and asked if we wanted coffee. No we didn’t really want dessert or coffee after our appetizers. We would have liked to have ordered a main course. So we took that as our cue to leave.
During the first twenty minutes we were ignored I joked with my wife that we should just get up and walk to another restaurant. We should have. On a positive note I will say that of the food we were able to order was very good. The next day I received an email asking why we didn’t make it to our reservation. I don’t think we’ll be trying them again.
An eclectic delicious experience. One of the best burgers ever. Beet salad was amazing. Lobster risotto was loaded with lobster and so satisfying. Can't wait to go back.
I loved this restaurant! The service and attention were perfect from the minute we walked in! Friendly staff, samplers from the kitchen - just great. The onion soup was so tasty and entrees were good portion size and delicious! A+
Wonderful!! First time, had no idea this place existed, absolutely loved it!! Service was top notch, and food was incredible!! The noise level was a little bit high considering how far away my partner was at our table, but we made the most of it. Would love for the allergens to be clearly marked on the menu so I don't have to ask the service about every little thing I'm interested in.. but that's just me, they were super knowledgeable and could make custom dishes for my dietary needs.
It was a quiet Sunday night. The host gave us a fantastic high top table in the corner. We had two wait staff throughout the night that were extremely attentive, met every request and were super friendly. We started with chickpea fries. They were really yummy and came with a delicious dipping sauce. Everyone had the burger. It was perfectly cooked, and I highly recommend getting fries! The drinks were tasty. I had the Jane Pickens, with Aperol, gin and elderflower. We had a great experience and I can't wait to go back for dinner again!
The atmosphere and staff were really good. The food, for the most part was really good, but anything bread was such a huge disappointment. They really need to find a bread baker to supply them with bread that compliments their food and stop serving Texas toast and store brought pita. Those two bread selections really, really detracted from good food. Will not return.
The French Onion Soup was unbelievable! So tasty! The meals were very fresh and delightful as well.
Located in the center of the bustling Newport downtown area, this restaurant has a classic French bistro/brasserie vibe. We liked the food and the atmosphere. The service was relatively attentive, except for the last part (maybe due to the change of shifts?) Overall, it was a good experience.
This is a newport gem as they are consistent, have space and parking.
Great service, attentive but not overbearing. Steak frites were delicious- we even ordered extra fries after! Loved the happy hour Mondays in the winter! I've told a lot of people to head your way!
We visited Stoneacre Brasserie for an early dinner before a show. It was wonderful! The food was great, the service impeccable, and the ambiance was perfect. We'll be back!
The appetizer - charred cheese with candied kumquats was fantastic
Fantastic as always! The food, service and atmosphere create an overall warmth that makes you look forward to your next visit. Must haves are the Roasted Garlic share plate, Grilled Octopus was simply amazing and not to be missed is the very simple Roasted Chicken with Polenta! Look forward to our next visit!
We enjoyed a Saturday night meal here during slow season. Our waitress (and the many servers who pitched in to help her) was fabulous. We asked for recommendations and she did not steer us wrong!
We ordered the garlic and ricotta appetizer, the squash soup and the green salad to share. All were incredible. Then we shared the sweet potato cavatelli which was also excellent. We closed the meal with the quince upside down cake and coffee.
Timing was excellent. Flavors, textures and temperature were excellent. Service was excellent. Music was mediocre and too loud. That was my only complaint.
Would absolutely eat here again.
Always great food and service!
Beautiful and different!
New Years Eve Dinner 🥂
The staff was extraordinarily knowledgeable and extremely hospitable. It made for a very delightful evening. Menu was well presented and favorable.
Amazing will be back
We went for a later dinner with our children and it was amazing! The waitstaff was great and very accommodating to my long list of dietary restrictions. Great food, environment & wine selection!
Lovely spot for lunch with friends!! Great menu selection... and make sure to have a biscuit; they are delicious!
Can’t wait to go back!!!
Super food and service! Great atmosphere and decor!
The atmosphere was very nice. The servers were friendly though ineffective at times. They brought coffee without sugar and we tried to get their attention for five minutes. By the time we succeeded our coffee was cold. The risotto was a little undercooked but the flavors were delicious. I would go back.
Great food, great service, really nice ambiance. My wife and I both agreed, one of the best meals we've ever had.
Wonderful food and atmosphere along with great service!
Fresh and imaginative food. Always outstanding.
We went here for their special menu on Christmas Day! In a word, spectacular! The menu was creative and imaginative, featuring items such as grilled octopus, rabbit and an excellent take on lobster thermidor! The food was superb and the service was top notch! Stoneacre has elevated it's game to become one of the top restaurants in Newport and is a must stop for any foodie!
Christmas Eve dinner. 4 course prefixe. Creative preparations. Beautifully presented.
We didn't know much about the Stoneacre Brasserie before going but it turned out to be a wonderful choice. Really good food - a squid appetizer with crunchy black rice was particularly delicious as was my cod main course. We had a great table at the corner of the restaurant with a view over the entire place. The decor is great and I particularly liked the impressive iron beams that support the bar. The location is in a great area with plenty of interesting shops. Destination restaurant as far as I am concerned. We will be back!
I have eaten here four times in the last month. The food, atmosphere and service has been outstanding!!
I had a great time here! The location and atmosphere are excellent. Everyone really enjoyed their meals, appetizers and drinks. Menu and drink choices were unique. For example I ordered lobster ravioli. This choice was made primarily based on its description that it was cooked in a miso broth. This was excellent! Not a big fan of the heavy cream sauces so I usually pass on this type of dish. Service was fast and all staff members were courteous. I highly recommend this establishment and I definitely plan on going back myself.
Olives app was good but hot not warm, beet salad and crocque madame were good but mousse dessert was more like a tasting served in a thimble.
I have been to Stoneacre twice now, once for lunch and once for dinner. Both were excellent experiences. The staff is friendly and the food and drinks are delicious. I look forward to returning the next time I am in Newport!
Our server was the rudest most indifferent server I have ever encountered. We were the only party in the restaurant, it was as if we were an inconvenience to her. Never again.
Atmosphere was great, servers were very friendly and attentive. Food tasted good, but small portions and priced higher than we expected for a neighborhood brasserie concept. Every dish we ordered was smaller than we expected it to be when it arrived. Overall experience was fine, but won't rush back.
We had a wonderful meal and the service was terrific. We shared an appetizer, a salad and an entree and we really appreciated that the salad and entree were split for us. Cocktail and wine selection was also very good and we loved the atmosphere.
