What Insiders Are Saying
Stone Park Cafe is one of Park Slope's best staple restaurants, and has consistently been serving its people for the better part of a decade. Chronic Brunchers, get your asses over to Stone Park.
The waiter guy was great. The food was so so. But when they served the desserts, my companion and I noticed that something was awfully wrong as if a piece of fish or garlicky meat was accidentally dropped into the mix. It spoiled the entire impression but the worse thing was that they person who served our dessert didn’t show any regrets and wasn’t even apologetic to what happened. They just said, We won’t charge you. I thought it was pretty offensive and wrong. We left a minimal tip but still paid $100 however left with literally a ‘bad taste in the mouth’.
As always, an excellent meal at a warm and friendly place.
Oh yeah so good
From soup to dessert, the presentation, taste, and service was impeccable. Had my favorite cocktail, Negroni, prepared to perfection. Our server was lovely and very well versed on the menu. This restaurant never disappoints!
Stone Park is a very good, local restaurant that consistently pleases with its interesting menu.
Service is attentive.
Underwhelming. Poor service. Overall a disappointment. Won’t be back.
Eight of us ate there before Keith Urban concert. We were loud and the staff was great! Gave us materials to make a sign for the concert! Waiter was so patient with 8 crazy women. It was my birthday and they brought a special dessert and all sang, even those at the bar! Memorable night. Thanks Stone Park!
Consistently some of the best food in Park Slope with thoughtful, attentive service. A couple of special requests were honored precisely. Prices are reasonable for the neighborhood and prix-fixe menu is excellent value.
Everything was great as usual. The only detraction on this occasion was the side I ordered -heirloom tomatos. The serving size was very generous -too much for one, but the overall flavor was just ok so it ended up being a kind of uninteresting dish that didnt compliment the other excellent items
Restaurant is walking distance from our home but we do not go frequently. The food is excellent, well prepared and artful. They are creative in several ways and the food is slightly different from the description in a positive way. The service was good early in eve but the waitress forgot about our coffee when she was too busy. The only negative was the bread. Initially it was heated old bread, a bit stale. But waitress brought out new bread 30 minutes later when asked. The price is reasonable for the food and the prix fixe is a good choice with the right price.
Stone Park Cafe never disappoints. We go regularly and each meal is better than the last. It has become my go-to spot to take visiting friends and family. I've ordered a wide variety of menu items and they've all been phenomenal.
The experience was good. Food was good. Nothing extra ordinary. Nice enough place.
Always wonderful service, delicious wine and food, great cocktails. Never had a bad meal or bad experience.
I have decided that Stone Park Café is now my restaurant of choice for all those special occasions. I have spent numerous holidays there, such as Thanksgiving, Rosh Hashanah and Passover and several birthdays. When my children are home, that's where they want to go for a delicious treat. For one, the food is consistently fine, very creative and tasty. The wine list appears thorough but I am not a wine drinker. I can't remember a false dish here. Totally recommend to all. My only complaint is sometimes it is noisy so if someone is hard of hearing maybe the party should be earlier.
Went on saturday with some family. We made a RSVP and our table was ready when we arrived. We decided to sit at the bar and have a cocktail before dinner which was excellent. The service on a whole was excellent and the food was delicious. The only hiccup i felt the octopus appetizer was too chewy/tough but the entrees and other apps were great. Will be back!
Food is phenomenal and service was perfect, not too invasive but there when we needed someone. I realize this comes with the territory in Park Slope but if you go early there will be a lot of kids in the restaurant, and it looks like they cater to this as there were not many options for tables for 2 when we arrived. At 6:30 pm with only 4 tables sat, 2 of the tables were occupied by four and five year olds enjoying $25 entrees while they argued over toys. Well come back at a later time next time.
Consistently great food. Attentive service. Love this place.
This has become a go to place when we want to go out and know we are going to have a good meal. We will be back
Stone Park Cafe is a gem in the heart of Park Slope--amazing food and drinks, great service, not overly formal. The chef's specials are always worth checking out, with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Or, for simpler fair, even the burger is one of the best pub style burgers probably ever. Highly recommended.
I’m never disappointed. The food is always good, great cocktails, friendly staff.
Longtime favorite. As consistent and comforble as ever. Never dissappoints. Fresh, tasty choices.
Nothing ordinary...very casual food and small choise I was disappointed
We had a guest from Amsterdam and we could not had picked a better place. Great menu selections, perfect place to talk, nice neighborhood vibe, excellent service and fresh ingredients
Excellent food, well prepared and presented. The delivery of the food after ordering agonizingly slow. Restaurant ignored my reservation note (“birthday dinner”)
From cocktails to entrees, this place is first class.
Pros: Lovely outdoor seating. Food prepared well and nice presentation, but not to our taste (mostly seafood and red meat). The dark chocolate ice cream was however exceptional.
Cons: Somewhat expensive, even for New York. Our waitress was sweet but clueless, and there did not appear to be enough wait staff. No vegetarian (much less vegan) entrees.
Bottom line: If you like French restaurants, you will probably like Stone Park Cafe.
Tasty, visually appealing food. I greatly enjoyed the tender pork chop and the warm chocolate brioche with caramel ice cream. We went to Stone Park for the first time to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We will definitely return.
Stone Park is always good but we were very disappointed that the desert we had specifically ordered when our orders were taken was no longer available when it came time for desert.
Nice meal, really good service, and reasonable price. Would definitely return again!
It was relatively quiet, probably due to holiday weekend. We shared octopus app with israli couscous then my husband had the pork chop and I had the lamb chops. we shared a warm peach dessert. Service was friendly.
My wife's short rib slider was very fatty
More than half was fat.
My pork chop was ordered medium rare and it was served well done.
My wife's scallops were in the greasy side.
Fortunately everything our guest had was fine.
We did not want to send things back as we brought her there because we have been so happy with the restaurant in the past.
We were and remain disappointed.
All our prior experiences were excellent.
Very attentive and helpful staff. Food creative and well prepared.
Stone Park continues to provide outstanding meals at reasonable prices. Actually, some might say that SP is expensive, but when you consider the quality of the ingredients and the great food preparations, it comes across as reasonable. SP is a cozy and inviting neighborhood spot that transcends neighborhood dining. It is easy to understand how the place fills up night after night. Whether you sit at the bar or choose a table, you are in for a treat.
We had a delicious dinner here and I'm looking forward to going back. The pasta was outstanding--we shared one small as an appetizer, which was plenty, but I was wishing there was more! We all loved our mains, too. Our waiter was fantastic and spot on with us recommendations. It's a pretty place but very popular so it's a little noisy. Not too bad, though, and a really nice vibe.
The food here is excellent. It's fresh and very well prepared and I really like that some of the pasta dishes have the option of a half plate serving. There's also a comprehensive wine list. The service is very good -- the staff are friendly, courteous, professional, but also laid back. I've also eaten at the bar on several occasions and had a good experience. The atmosphere is lively without being really noisy.
Fantastic food in a welcoming cozy & chic setting. Dinner was perfect in flavor, presentation and portion size. Can’t wait to come back to Stone Park for breakfast or brunch.
I lunched there today with 2 friends. The server told us that any of the dishes on the prix fixe lunch were available a la carte. we ordered 2 pastas from that menu. When the bill arrived, each pasta was $21, $3 dollars more than the most expensive entree. When I spoke privately to the manager, a man named Perton, he was uninterested in my complaint, and was in fact, arrogant and dismissive. He said "it's not like it's $35, it's only $21".. and then he said "this conversation is over". I have been there many times, but his attitude has more than soured my opinion of this restaurant.
We enjoyed our family evening and the food was really good!
