What Insiders Are Saying
Stone Park Cafe is one of Park Slope's best staple restaurants, and has consistently been serving its people for the better part of a decade. Chronic Brunchers, get your asses over to Stone Park.
It was relatively quiet, probably due to holiday weekend. We shared octopus app with israli couscous then my husband had the pork chop and I had the lamb chops. we shared a warm peach dessert. Service was friendly.
My wife's short rib slider was very fatty
More than half was fat.
My pork chop was ordered medium rare and it was served well done.
My wife's scallops were in the greasy side.
Fortunately everything our guest had was fine.
We did not want to send things back as we brought her there because we have been so happy with the restaurant in the past.
We were and remain disappointed.
All our prior experiences were excellent.
Very attentive and helpful staff. Food creative and well prepared.
Stone Park continues to provide outstanding meals at reasonable prices. Actually, some might say that SP is expensive, but when you consider the quality of the ingredients and the great food preparations, it comes across as reasonable. SP is a cozy and inviting neighborhood spot that transcends neighborhood dining. It is easy to understand how the place fills up night after night. Whether you sit at the bar or choose a table, you are in for a treat.
We had a delicious dinner here and I'm looking forward to going back. The pasta was outstanding--we shared one small as an appetizer, which was plenty, but I was wishing there was more! We all loved our mains, too. Our waiter was fantastic and spot on with us recommendations. It's a pretty place but very popular so it's a little noisy. Not too bad, though, and a really nice vibe.
The food here is excellent. It's fresh and very well prepared and I really like that some of the pasta dishes have the option of a half plate serving. There's also a comprehensive wine list. The service is very good -- the staff are friendly, courteous, professional, but also laid back. I've also eaten at the bar on several occasions and had a good experience. The atmosphere is lively without being really noisy.
Fantastic food in a welcoming cozy & chic setting. Dinner was perfect in flavor, presentation and portion size. Can’t wait to come back to Stone Park for breakfast or brunch.
I lunched there today with 2 friends. The server told us that any of the dishes on the prix fixe lunch were available a la carte. we ordered 2 pastas from that menu. When the bill arrived, each pasta was $21, $3 dollars more than the most expensive entree. When I spoke privately to the manager, a man named Perton, he was uninterested in my complaint, and was in fact, arrogant and dismissive. He said "it's not like it's $35, it's only $21".. and then he said "this conversation is over". I have been there many times, but his attitude has more than soured my opinion of this restaurant.
We enjoyed our family evening and the food was really good!
Nice neighborhood cafe. Good service. Food disappointing. Nicely prepared and presented but lacking in flavor. Very bland. Was looking for more creating spicing
We've lived in the neighborhood for ten years and walked past the Stone Park Cafe probably 100 times, but never ate there. Well we finally stopped in and what a treat. The food is very fresh, well prepared and delicious. The service was very good and very quick. We won't walk past too many times again!
We eat here regularly and really love the place. Excellent cocktails, very good service. Some tables are kind of crowded but that's NY. I always get the frisee salad with lardons and poached egg. Love it!
We came for my sisters Birthday. This is one her most favorite places to eat in Brooklyn. The 3 if us shared the cavatelli entree with ricotta and porcini as an appetizer. It was incredible. I had the pork chop which was also amazing. My Mom had an appetizer of scallops which was served on bone marrow with tacos and condiments. I don’t think she would order it again ad it was a-lot of work assembling. My sister ordered the whole Bronzino which was slightly over cooked and somewhat bland. Service is impeccable and accommodating.
Service was overall good. The restaurant is very nice. Food was delicious.
Scallops and bone marrow tacos were delicious. Swiss chard raviolini was yummy with mushrooms as well. Salmon tartine special was good but the bread slices were a bit chewy. Their table bread was warm and delicious and used as substitute. My wine came with lipstick mark but was corrected.
a nice place to catch up with friends; good range of prices
We love Stone Park and it's a special treat every time. The menu changes and is never disappointing. The food is excellent, the wine is excellent, the martinis are perfect. The service is gracious and friendly. It's our first choice for special occasions, also sitting at the bar is great for a drink and the best hamburger.
Girlfriend's birthday so we just had to go to Stone Park. Their dishes are consistently well done, no matter what we have, we're never disappointed. The atmosphere radiates a soft glow that works for romance or a girl's night out. The service is good, they leave you alone to talk and enjoy your company which we appreciate but they don't let you feel forgotten which we also appreciate.
Thanks to Tim for gracious serving us (we had a common connection in Niantic), and to the entire staff for the warm welcome and the truly memorable meal. We have told friends in Manhattan it is well worth hopping on the train for dinner at Stone Park. Hope to have a chance to return soon (from Santa Monica).
My wife, teenaged son and I were visiting from out of town. We already knew the neighborhood and chose the restaurant based on great online reviews. Food was fantastic! Highlights included the short rib slider and marrow tacos appetizers, scallops entrée and lemon soufflé dessert. Place had a nice casual vibe with adults and families there. Look forward to going again!
Wonderful food and exceptional wine list as usual. One of my favorite restaurants in New York!
So nice. The food was delicious and the service was great. Do yourself a favor and stop in.
Drinks good. Service good. Food had potential but cold
Enjoyed this restaurant that was new for us so much, we went back in 3 days. In Brooklyn for ACC Tournament and this cafe was a wonderful find. Food was awesome and the service prompt. Everyone very personable.
I’ve been here so many times! I live a block away. It sure would be neat if someone remembered me ftom one visit to the next (the staff is long term). But nope. Last time, the delicious frisée salad was about half the size it used to be. Hmmm. Deserts are never great. Entrees are delish as are the cocktails.
Perfect spot to meet a friend for lunch !
My sisters and I came here last minute to celebrate a birthday. We were pleasantly surprised The food was absolutely amazing!!! The atmosphere was great. Definitely recommend eating here. Will come here again when in New York.
Came here for Valentine's Day with my girlfriend and it was wonderful. Great staff as always, warm atmosphere, gay friendly, inventive menu. It just doesn't get any better!
Lovely evening! Service couldn’t have been better. Food was outstanding. Wonderful family celebration! Thank you!
Haven't been to Stone Park Cafe in a while (since my wife gave up meat and tried to avoid their"to -die for" burgers) but we decided to use our $50 Open Table rewards there on a late Saturday night after a movie. For an appetizer, we shared a small order of the swiss chard ravioli with pine nuts in a brown butter sauce, which was amazing. It was good to know they still have the best burgers in NYC and my wife loved her salmon. At that time tables were starting to empty and the scene was mellow, but the servers were friendly, the food as good as ever, and the 1,000 points from Open Table for a late reservation was just one more bonus.
All the food was terrific. Wine was great. All reasonably priced. My only complaint is that we waited too long before our wine order was taken and then another long wait before our dinner order was taken. Servers were very pleasant and solicitous, though. Delay would not have been a big deal except that we were late to a concert after the dinner. I would definitely return. Next time I would make sure the server knows if we are on a deadline.
Always great food, wonderful, attentive service & nice atmosphere.
My guest and I enjoyed this place very very much and will be coming back.
We enjoyed the brunch. The staff were really friendly and accomodating. The food was delicious.
I had brunch here with friends and ordered Short Rib Hash with Eggs it was delicious! So was the bloody mary. The restaurant is kid friendly which is very nice for parents of young kids but there was a crying 3 year old next to us for quite a while. The service was spotty with a somewhat surly host and a very nice waitress who never came back again. I think they may share the table service. I don't think they offered my friend a coffee refill. Waited forever for our check. Bottom line is I would go back again for the food but not on a special occasion.
Absolutely my “go-to” in the neighborhood, for almost any occasion....
We had dinner and the food was great. A little pricey for the portion size compared to brunch (brunch provides much more value) but it was very good. Service was slow initially but it seemed to be a simple mix up and was resolved quickly.
Nice atmosphere, very good food although portions were on smaller side. Service was excellent.
We’ve tried to get here for dinner but never managed to get reservations so we tried it for lunch on weekday during Christmas break. Food was very good. Cold if you’re any where near the door. We’ll keep trying for dinner one day.
