Stone Brewing - Napa
Fri, Sat 11:00 am–12:00 am
I stopped in for a beer order pick up and stayed for lunch. The food was tasty! The portions were just right with a great flavor profile that hit the spot. The staff was very friendly and helpful to get the food out quickly and offer hints to the complex and large beer list. This is a great addition to a world-class wine region.
Building is beautiful, beer is great. Busy place so service was stretched. We should have gotten a beer at the bar downstairs before we checked in as once we were seated took 20 mins to take a drink order. We were early for our reservation so fair enough. Food came quickly and was really good, beyond expectations actually. We will be back plenty, great addition to the Napa scene.
Fantastic! The rustic, castle like atmosphere is awesome!
Beer is very good but food prices are too high for the small portions. I suggest go for the beer before or after dinner but eat something more reasonably priced
This place is a fun place to visit. The beer is great, the food is good, food menu is limited.
Really cool restored old building right on the river.
Spent the afternoon with beer tastings and food. Gave 4 stars for food because I found a hair in my food. The staff quickly made it right and apologized heavily. The food itself was amazing but a hair is never acceptable and they agree.
Awesome great place!
I like this place, and the people are friendly. However, parking is down the street, and the menu is very limited.
I was super excited to eat here since I keep hearing about it. I was extremely disappointed, the service was horrible. I felt that everyone around us got better service than we did. I hope it wasn’t because we were “Latinos” while everyone else was white. When taking our order the waitress didn’t even bother to ask how we wanted our steaks. Brooke the waitress then never really came to our table and when she did it was so fast like she was in such a hurry. I asked for a glass of ice since my water was warm, i never got it. I can say WE will NOT be returning. Very disappointed, Will NOT recommend to anyone.
Service was very poor, not attentive to the needs of the table. Food was ok, nothing special. Went there on a Saturday night and it was dead.
New venue and still improving. Situated in an historic building in Napa downtown. Very nice bar upstairs and outside patio areas. Serving their own brews and great baked pretzels. Menu is being developed to include salads, sandwiches and entrees. Chef is well known in Napa from high end restaurants.
Based only on location and the building in which it resides, this should be a slam dunk. But, the food really was terrible. I stopped in with a large group, and universally, each person claimed that this was the worst food of our 2 day trip to Napa.
It is worth a stop If you want to stop here for a beer before you go elsewhere for food. The building and ambiance were great.
Fairly laid back place with good enough food and service. The windows and seating in the upper floor do not really lend to be bale to take in a great view. The lemon dessert that was recommended fell far short. It had the texture and taste of something that had been kept in the fridge past its prime. The feature stout beer was good.
There were 7 of us and there appeared to be a only a small crowd of other diners. I'm not sure where and what our waiter was doing but it was not providing service. It took a half and hour to have our drinks delivered and even then my brother didn't get his drink. I got up and spoke with the hostess and told her about the lack of service and still nothing happened for another 10 minutes. By the time we had waited an hour and has still not had our dinner orders taken we decided that this was unacceptable. We spoke the the manager and left.
Limited menu, food was cold, orders not correct! Staff friendly, but the staff not very attentive. Beer choices good. Beautiful building, if food had been better and with better options the price would have been acceptable!
I have wanted to visit Stone Brewing for some time now and I LOVED it! For a group of 6 we were seated right away with our reservation, outside, by the water. We had beautiful weather, a great view and experience overall, it was perfect. Our server was great, attentive and kind. All of us enjoyed our food and beer, we were able to dine comfortably and made good time to get to our next wine tasting reservation. I will definitely be back again!
Great beer destination in the land of wine! Super cool location on the river. Great Cheesy Squeel pulled pork sandwich and enjoyed the Poke Bowl as well! Beer is the star here!
Walker, our server, was fantastic! He was so personable and accommodating to my husband’s food allergies. We felt pampered and had an overall fantastic evening. Eat outside if the weather is nice, and order the Impossible Burger!
Best impossible burger I’ve ever had. Michelle was an adorable and prompt server and the beer was great too.
Wish they had pub food. Burgers, hot dogs, fries.
Service was great, beer was delicious and food was tasty. Looking forward to going back to try more beers and food options
We went here to try the impossible burger. We were going to the uptown theater for a show and there are very few vegan options in Napa. The burgers were good but according to the waiter the owner “does not believe in French fries or ketchup”. This put a real damper on our burger experience. So if you want to try an impossible burger go to Gott’s, just around the corner. We did have a nice table outside.
ZERO parking anywhere close. Great beers, good venue, mediocre food, nice young staff.
Food and ambiance were great. Disappointed when several beers on menu were not available. I find it annoying when I go to a restaurant and menu items are not available or have run out.
A brew house in Napa, occupied an historical building in downtown of Napa. The dining room is on the second floor, provide a great view of downtown Napa and the Napa River. The food menu is causal approach. The portion is decent. The heirloom tomato salad is fresh but the favor is too busy. The ribs have a nice smoky favor, the side cole slaw salad's dressing is too much. The cabbage is soaking on the plate and the favor is flat. The turkey sandwich is just like a deli sandwich.
Going to Stone Brewing, you must like their beer. Otherwise, you can get selections from the beer hause in Oxbow Market.
While there are other stone Brewing locations, don’t come here for the food! Extremely limited menu with only pickled vegetables as side .... come for the brews and sitting at the bar or tabkes by the river side. Be sure to bring sunglasses though as they have no sun protection and if you face the sun while sitting there it’s bad.
The host was very disorganize, he tried to seat us at a table for 6 when we had 8... server was rude to my husband when he arrived. Menu could be more robust, very limited, boring selections. Unless you love their beer - I would not recommend. Much better places in Napa
The 5 ounce pours really give an opportunity to do a flight of 3, 4, or even 5 different brews. Great food, great atmosphere. Go about an hour before the sunsets and sit upstairs on the west side by the roll up door. Amazing way to start your evening!
There's a saying "just 'cause you live in Napa Valley, doesn't mean you HAVE to drink wine" our waitress was knowledgeable about the beer they served and helped us make great choices! Bring a sweater if you're sitting outside at sundown. Use open table app! Works great!
Are NoT able to accommodate dietary restrictions. All food is prepared in advance... if your looking for great beer and salty food 👍
average at best. Nice staff and nice view if you get really lucky with seat location. Otherwise table location is such you may as well be in downtown Hayward. We love the fact they moved in this building but food and experience lacking.
Wow. So many issues with this place!
* Sparse decor with a focus on merchandise downstairs, uncomfortable seating.
* Absolutely lackadaisical service. When we walked in, the hostess did not seem happy to see us (we had reservations) and we were led to a super awkward picnic bench (the seat went all the way around, so all three of us ladies in dresses had to climb in/out awkwardly). We sat for at least ten minutes before we were acknowledged by a server, who seemed to be spread pretty thin. He was nice, though.
* Horrific food. A few of us ordered the Prime Rib Sandwich, expecting something semi-hearty. Nope. It was basically a grilled cheese sandwich with two arugula leaves and a few tablespoons of limp, flavorless meat. It's accompanied by roasted potatoes, but I found no evidence of said roasting, as they tasted like maybe they had been microwaved about an hour ago. One of us had three potato slices on her plate, I had about twelve. Weird. We asked for extra horseradish and were given some runny white sauce that tasted like lemony ranch dressing. My poor brother in law put some of it on his sandwich and it was completely ruined. Our server was nice enough to change it out with something else.
* We had chosen this place because we're all beer lovers and very excited to have a new brewery in town, planning on having a few beers for a while, but we were so disgusted by the food that we paid the bill and got out of there.
Bottom line? If you're only going to have ten to twelve menu items, execute them flawlessly. Have enough servers so service isn't as glacial as it was the other night. And maybe care about your patrons' experience enough so they want to come back. Because I won't.
The menu is quite limited. Food is OK, not great. There were 4 of us and the poke bowl seemed to be the best choice over the farow salad, kids pizza and the caesar salad. We liked the option of a 5 oz pour. View is great on the river.
Wonderful beers to try, knowleadgeable staff. Food could be a little more seasoned and dynamic
Small but tasteful food menu. I'd appreciate some daily specials that are paired with their beers. Love the old building and that Stone Brewing is back to Napa's roots: beer! (but they also serve wine...) The Impossible Burger is outstanding.
Fantastic drinks and location. The place is new, but the food options don't quite seem dialed in yet. Side salad was just lettuce, for example.
