This was our first time dining at this restaurant and we choose to celebrate Thanksgiving here. . Beautiful hotel. Food was good, but would have preferred more traditional desserts like pumpkin pie and pecan pie. Overall it was enjoyable. We dine out a lot so it was nice to try something different.
The service was top knotch during their Thanksgiving holiday meal service. However, the menu was quite pricey and food was fair at best.
Food was too salty
The theme was clever and followed through from the ambiance to the table. The menu descriptions and coordinating cocktails were spooky fun! The waiter and the mixologist were informative and enthusiastic. Portions and presentation were very good for my regular appetite and fall flavors were celebrated well.
We went for their Halloween dinner and everything was phenomenal. You could tell that everyone had put a lot of thought and care into making it a fun Halloween experience. Our server was so nice and on top of things, both the Gm and chef came out to greet us. And it was very reasonably priced for a holiday dinner! Can’t wait to go back on a regular day!
Nice coffee-shop style restaurant inside the JW Marriott. Delicious food was much better than anticipated. We love crispy brussel sprouts so we started with that and were amazed at how good it was complimented with the rutabaga puree. Next, the pulled pork slider entree was very good and the Salmon Club was excellent. We finished the night with their version of carrot cake and blueberry cheesecake. Dessert portions were nice individual servings that completed the meal. Overall, we enjoyed our dining experience very much and definitely plan to return to try some of the other tempting menu items.
We ate here on a Saturday and it wasn’t too crowded which was nice! Our server was awesome and the food came out really quickly. The food was good as well as the drinks.
This is the second time I’ve been to Stompin Grounds. I forgot why I was disappointed last time. It’s soooo expensive! My Caesar salad with Chicken was $18. Way too pricey. Unless that changes I won’t be returning.
Food was amazing and the bloody mary bar is spectacular! Very fun experience, only complaint is that it took a while for us to get our drinks and were not offered refills, we had to stop someone to ask for them. Also, the staff didn't tell us the pastry car was included, one of the other guests did... seems like this is something they would have expressed to us.
The food was amazing. I appreciate the waiter for letting us ask questions.
Fun brunch with friends during our reunion weekend! Great service, and loved the Bloody Mary bar and the boozy milkshakes!
The name makes you think of a breakfast place, which it is, but it is so much more! We ate dinner there and it was delicious. You must try the brussel sprouts. I had the kale and mushroom salad and it did not disappoint. My husband had the fish and it was really good as well.
We had brunch for a bachelorette weekend. We loved that the pastries were included with our meals.
Great menu selections, outstanding service, convenient location. Loved it!
Emily is a great server! Highly recommend her.
The spinach artichoke dip!!
We are locals and visited the hotel for a staycation.
The service is terrible
Our server was awesome and the food was great! Loved the bloody Mary bar...will be back!
The restaurant wasn't very crowded, but it seemed to take a while to get the food. When we did, it was luke warm. Definitely not worth what we paid.
Brunch was amazing. Croissant French toast 🏆
Great food and service. The hot Caesar was delicious!
I got to the hotel late and I was surprised to have such a nice dinner at this restaurant. The waitress was excellent. She assisted my wife by recommending a dish that turned out to be excellent. I would have gone back for another dinner, however, my trip was over before I knew it.
The hotel is lovely and the restaurant is as well. I honestly enjoyed the little shop with food and sweets than I enjoyed the restaurant. We didn't have to wait long to get seated which was nice. The overall feel and decor of the restaurant are very modern and nice. There were only a few people there so the sound level was very low and very enjoyable to have a nice conversation in with people at my party.
The service was good, nothing amazing. There was no real interaction other than taking our order, update on our food, delivery of our food, and then a check. We were not offered refills for our drinks at any time.
Our waitress was nice and told us that one of the people's order was taking longer so that is why we had to wait for our food. Which is very nice to be updated on but once our food arrived you can easily tell who's food was sitting out awhile.
My mother's Cowboy Hash was cold but very generous in portion and very yummy. My sister's breakfast burger was very large and delicious and hot. Mine, however, was very disappointing. Even my sister and mother made comments about it. I had ordered the croissant french toast, which was not a french toast at all. It was simply 3 petite croissants put on a plate with fresh berries and a berry compote. The croissants were very dry and hard. The only things I enjoyed about my dish were the fresh berries and berry compote that was with it. Since I was starving, I was able to eat it with that jam to make it less dry but it was a quick meal.
We probably will not be back but it was nice to try a new place.
Stompin Grounds is a new hidden treasure in Nashville! Go before everyone else discovers it!
Everything was great! Our server was wonderful and so was the food.
Everything on their menu was amazing. We arrived before 12 and were told the lunch menu didn’t start till then but our waitress was more than accommodating. The pastries are incredible. I had a special edition St. Patrick’s hat which was phenomenal. The pastry chef needs to be commended. We had the pork shank, ahi bowl and burger. All were 5 stars. FYI- The burger is made from grass fed beef.
We first were seated in a tiny corner even though the restaurant was not busy at all and I had mentioned on the reservation that it was my birthday. They did nothing special. We asked to move to a larger table since they had at least 29 tables open. The soft drinks were $5 each!!! However the food was very good!! I had the shrimp and grits. Only 3 shrimp however. :(
I came here for a pre-dinner meeting with a colleague. We just ordered the appetizers; the spinach and artichoke dip and shrimp and grits. These were appetizer size for sharing, but they were massive portions. The spinach and artichoke dip was OK, but the shrimp and grits was not that great. We ended up sending 80% of the food back at the end of our meeting because we just couldn’t eat it. Not really that great
Food was very mediocre and really not worth the price.
Love this place - Tammy is the best !! We always feel so taken care of - they go above and beyond and the food is delicious! Make sure to get macaroons before you leave too!
Great value for the money; expect to pay around $14- I had fried green tomatoes topped with pork bellies and something similar to warm pimento cheese ( serving was three and i took one to go). Great service.
Went for a retirement lunch for work friend. Service was great, friendly and quick, plus she gave us 2 desserts to share to celebrate. Good for lunch. A little on the loud side, but overall a good experience.
Did a hotel finally get the recipe right (pun intended) for its in-house, all-day restaurant? Nope.
High prices for a menu designed to cut costs by some corporate chef and a cost accountant.
Decor is nice. Service lacks timing, but is both friendly and accommodating. Food is well-prepared and well-presented - this is not a failure of the line cooks.
The menu is just meh. It would be an ok bistro if it were about 2/3rds of the price. Just get a salad (the wedge is by far the best one), and spend the other calories on the bake shop up front (old school they still have a pastry team according to the server, which is awesome).
If you find yourself there, go fish instead of red meat. Both soups are ok, sweet potato salad is insipid, but the aforementioned wedge is spicy and good. Octopus made me sad.
Ask for bread - the grilled sourdough was worth the carbs, hot to the table with a little char and smoke from the grill.
Food was absolutely delicious and the service was great!
Aubrey and Holly were awesome!! Excellent southern hospitality from those two. Can’t wait to come back and try everything else on the menu!!
Service was great. They were able to accommodate larger than expected group at the last minute. Food was only fair - several people thought chicken was undercooked.
We were really looking forward to our first visit to the JW Marriott. Love the fact that it has opened in Nashville, particularly in such an iconic building. Our review will run the gamut of ratings.
The food was excellent! Highly recommend it for that aspect.
Ambiance was limited. Was there for dinner for 6:45-8:15. It was VERY brightly lit. Felt like we were in a school cafeteria. All they had to do was dim the lights for a more pleasant atmosphere.
Service was horrible! Was there on a Wednesday night for a major concert at Bridgestone. The hostess apologized that they were caught off guard by the unexpected number of people. She said we could go upstairs to the bar and they would call us when a table was ready. I told her we had reservation and she seated us immediately. The restaurant was 65% empty and remained that way the whole time we were there. We were immediately given a glass of water. Then NO ONE came to our table for 20 minutes, though several employees walked by but would not make eye contact. We finally flagged someone down to take our drink order. When we finally got a server, she apologized saying she "was the only server on duty". WHERE WAS MANAGEMENT??? They should have been taking off their suits, rolling us their sleeves and taking food orders, delivering plates and bussing tables.
Will definitely go back, just hope they resolve their service issues by the time we do.
The food was great, but the service was terrible. We planned to have dinner before a concert at Bridgestone and thought this would be the perfect location. I made the reservation early enough to give us plenty of time for a casual dinner before the concert, unfortunately an hour and a half was not enough time for 2 cheeseburgers. When we arrived it was clear they were understaffed. There was only one server for the entire restaurant. At one point, we counted 13 tables, too much for anyone to handle. They made some excuses about the bar being packed, but even still, there wouldn’t have been enough otherwise. One of the hostesses offered to comp our 2 glasses of wine, which would have been nice, considering it took more than 30 minutes for us to receive them, unfortunately, that didn’t happen. Our food came out about 5 minutes before we had to leave and we requested the check and ate as quickly as we could. We didn’t see any management, and figured we would be better off to pay so we could still have a chance to make it out on time. As I said before, the food was good, but if I had any other options, I wouldn’t head back anytime soon. Not the service I expect from a JW Marriott.
We waited an hour for our food. Once we asked for it they apologized and they put it in containers to go. Bummer.
Had the greatest time here celebrating a birthday - our server Tammy couldn't have been more accommodating - she made every single part of our experience perfect. This is absolutely one of my new favorite restaurants in Nashville, and we will be visiting very often. The food was incredible and the desserts come from an Italian pastry chef and they were unbelievable. I cannot wait to go back!
