Great value for the money; expect to pay around $14- I had fried green tomatoes topped with pork bellies and something similar to warm pimento cheese ( serving was three and i took one to go). Great service.
Went for a retirement lunch for work friend. Service was great, friendly and quick, plus she gave us 2 desserts to share to celebrate. Good for lunch. A little on the loud side, but overall a good experience.
Did a hotel finally get the recipe right (pun intended) for its in-house, all-day restaurant? Nope.
High prices for a menu designed to cut costs by some corporate chef and a cost accountant.
Decor is nice. Service lacks timing, but is both friendly and accommodating. Food is well-prepared and well-presented - this is not a failure of the line cooks.
The menu is just meh. It would be an ok bistro if it were about 2/3rds of the price. Just get a salad (the wedge is by far the best one), and spend the other calories on the bake shop up front (old school they still have a pastry team according to the server, which is awesome).
If you find yourself there, go fish instead of red meat. Both soups are ok, sweet potato salad is insipid, but the aforementioned wedge is spicy and good. Octopus made me sad.
Ask for bread - the grilled sourdough was worth the carbs, hot to the table with a little char and smoke from the grill.
Food was absolutely delicious and the service was great!

Service was great. They were able to accommodate larger than expected group at the last minute. Food was only fair - several people thought chicken was undercooked.
We were really looking forward to our first visit to the JW Marriott. Love the fact that it has opened in Nashville, particularly in such an iconic building. Our review will run the gamut of ratings.

Ambiance was limited. Was there for dinner for 6:45-8:15. It was VERY brightly lit. Felt like we were in a school cafeteria. All they had to do was dim the lights for a more pleasant atmosphere.
Service was horrible! Was there on a Wednesday night for a major concert at Bridgestone. The hostess apologized that they were caught off guard by the unexpected number of people. She said we could go upstairs to the bar and they would call us when a table was ready. I told her we had reservation and she seated us immediately. The restaurant was 65% empty and remained that way the whole time we were there. We were immediately given a glass of water. Then NO ONE came to our table for 20 minutes, though several employees walked by but would not make eye contact. We finally flagged someone down to take our drink order. When we finally got a server, she apologized saying she "was the only server on duty". WHERE WAS MANAGEMENT??? They should have been taking off their suits, rolling us their sleeves and taking food orders, delivering plates and bussing tables.
Will definitely go back, just hope they resolve their service issues by the time we do.
The food was great, but the service was terrible. We planned to have dinner before a concert at Bridgestone and thought this would be the perfect location. I made the reservation early enough to give us plenty of time for a casual dinner before the concert, unfortunately an hour and a half was not enough time for 2 cheeseburgers. When we arrived it was clear they were understaffed. There was only one server for the entire restaurant. At one point, we counted 13 tables, too much for anyone to handle. They made some excuses about the bar being packed, but even still, there wouldn’t have been enough otherwise. One of the hostesses offered to comp our 2 glasses of wine, which would have been nice, considering it took more than 30 minutes for us to receive them, unfortunately, that didn’t happen. Our food came out about 5 minutes before we had to leave and we requested the check and ate as quickly as we could. We didn’t see any management, and figured we would be better off to pay so we could still have a chance to make it out on time. As I said before, the food was good, but if I had any other options, I wouldn’t head back anytime soon. Not the service I expect from a JW Marriott.
We waited an hour for our food. Once we asked for it they apologized and they put it in containers to go. Bummer.
Had the greatest time here celebrating a birthday - our server Tammy couldn't have been more accommodating - she made every single part of our experience perfect. This is absolutely one of my new favorite restaurants in Nashville, and we will be visiting very often. The food was incredible and the desserts come from an Italian pastry chef and they were unbelievable. I cannot wait to go back!
Beautiful space, server Emma was amazing. The hostess JoJo was amazing. The food was delicious, but maaaaan the drinks took FOREVER (the bar’s fault) and we were one of two groups in the restaurant. New restaurant so i get it, but they need to figure out their system.
Didn't realize this was located in the JW Marriott. Right or wrong, hotel restaurants still have a stigma. The staff was very nice, although the waitress disappeared twice. She apologized and stated that they were short staffed (likely because there was college football and NFL hockey games so the city was crowded), but the place was almost empty. There was nothing wrong with the experience, but hey, it's Nashville and you can do much better than a hotel restaurant.
The pasta was delicious and they had gluten free options for every course!
Wow wow wow! Where do I start? Fish sandwich-5 stars....pastries 5 stars....gelato 5 stars....service 5 stars....ask for Tammy she was spectacular. She shared stories about the chef, pastry chef, the gelato machine, the pastry chef’s travels here to America....she knew the menu front and back and was a better server than anyone could expect at any restaurant anywhere. The quality of the food for our lunch was simply fabulous! We will be back every time we come back to Nashville!!!!
Food was good but our server but my order of chicken sausage in literally after I was finished eating. I was done I saw them cooking it 30 minutes after we placed our order.
This was our first visit and we will return! The food and service were excellent!
We chose this restaurant based off of another review and we loved it. The decor is modern and very cute. Our server was fine, but tended to disappear for long periods of time; however, the rest of the staff more than made up for it. If it ever looked like we needed anything someone always stopped and asked. The food was excellent. We had the Lovers Dip, and it was great. Way more than two people actually need! We also had the fried chicken and the burger, both of which were excellent. Would definitely go back here next time we are in Nashville.
The food was good, but not great. I ordered the fried chicken with sausage cornbread stuffing and green bean casserole, and for me it lacked favor. Not worth the price in my opinion.
The service wasn't the greatest, though it wasn't for a lack of effort or not being courteous, but a lack of staffing in general. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful, just not well coordinated. You know they are short staffed when your hostess and the restaurant managers (front and back) are taking orders, filling up drinks, delivering food and handling the bill.
Much of the issues could be attributed to the fact that it is a new restaurant, however for the price I expected a better overall experience.
The decor is very clean and sexy. The service is top notch and the food was absolutely delightful. I had the salmon dish and I ate every bite of it. I saw a lot of orders for the burger so maybe I’ll try that next time. The wines are a bit pricey though.
There's a new neighborhood gem in Downtown Nashville called Stompin' Grounds. The restaurant is located on the 1st floor of the new JW Marriott Hotel on 8th Ave and Demonbreun St. My friends and I were blown away by our dining experience from the moment we entered the restaurant to the time we left the building.
Tessa, our hostess, was the most professional, warm and welcoming host we've seen in quite some time in the area. She took the time to get to know guests, and not just at the entrance but by also visiting the tables. Our servers, Emma and Emerson, did a fantastic job of providing customer service throughout the whole meal. The teamwork at this new restaurant is phenomenal and you can clearly see it at work.
Chef Eric's dishes were impeccable, flavorful, original, and locally sourced. Our group tried several items from the menu, like the Grilled Octopus, Lovers Dip, a sourdough bread appetizer, grilled halibut, Salmon, buttermilk fried chicken, grilled skirt steak, and a few other entrees. We also had the opportunity to try several pastries like macaroons, hazelnut puffs, blueberry cheesecake and more. The amazing pastries at this restaurant are freshly made by their in-house French pastry chef, Chef Romain.
I strongly recommend that you give this new restaurant a try and make it your regular place to visit. (Saturday, 08-04-2018)
