What a strange place. Food overall was technically well prepared but under seasoned. Portions were also very small for the price being served.
Imagine if someone was building a sports bar but then halfway through decided they were gonna do fine dining instead... that’s the ambience this place gives off. Waiter was inattentive and overall unfriendly. There were only 4 tables filled in the room at 6:45pm on a Friday which in the end speaks for itself.
We were the only ones in the restaurant...which can sometimes be a warning sign....charcuterie bread was stale; grapes not fresh; miso salmon dry and raw in the middle...sent it back to the kitchen and it came back raw again. The rest of the food was mediocre at best. Pros: decor was nice; good location
Great food. Great service. They didn't have a great selection of wine and were out of the one we chose. Overall, a very good choice.
Always a favorite. Great food in a quiet surrounding with excellent service. What more could you ask?
This is a gem of a place with a delicious food and changing menu, and great service. My wife had the salmon and I had the braised beef sandwich. Both were delicious. We've been there several times and will return again!
Owners are fantastic, Greg the server is awesome, Chef is amazing...best restaurant for dinner on the far east side of Carmel by far!
We had the entire restaurant to ourselves. Food, service and seating was great.
This was my second time dining at Redux. The food was great both times. The crab and corn fritter appertizer was excellent. My husband really enjoyed his filet as well. When we arrived, there was only one table of two in addition to us. It was so quiet, you could hear a pin drop. By the time we left, there were multiple other tables, and the atmosphere was a little livlier. I only have two small complaints about this visit. I ordered a cocktail off of the drink menu that was listed as $7. I drank two of them, and I was charged $9 for each. I didn't complain over $4, but if you are offerent a drink special, you should charge the advertised price. Also, both times that I've made reservations at this restaurant, I have indicated that it was for a special occasion, but the restuarant didn't recognize this on either visit. I'm being nitpicky, but I really want this restaurant to last. I recommend giving this restaurant a try. I'm rooting for Redux to be successful!
Excellent food from appetizers to desert. Served while hot. Attractive interior. Probably not the most well traveled place for a restaurant, but if you want very good food, attractive place, you won't be disappointed.
Our favorite restaurant in Carmel...we love this place!
Excited about the new menu coming up. food is just great!!!
Fantastic food...great service...excellent wine...love this place!
It’s a shame this restaurant is tucked away because it is a real gem that more people should know about. Excellent food, a very caring proprietor, and a chef who stops by the table to inquire about the food make dining here quite special. We will definitely go back, though it is a bit too pricey to become a weekly destination.
Had never heard of this restaurant until we reviewed it on the Devour Indy site. When we walked in, we thought "uh oh" because the restaurant was almost empty. But the food was really, really good. We will go back.
Wonderful experience. Greg (our server) was great and the food was all fresh and delicious. Kind an off the beaten path location but worth the trip.
Current Chef has it together. Excellent meals, well prepared. An earlier comment noted he was not "heavy handed" w/spices. What we 5 had was very flavorful. However, the owners might want to recalibrate their prices.
This place is a hidden gem! Every time we go the food is amazing - the new chef is fantastic- and the service is excellent. They have excellent wine and beer choices in addition to the food menu. Highly recommend ReDux!!!
The salmon and beef filet were both excellent. Service was slow, but our server was also the only bartender, so he was busy. There is a drink in the menu called “Blueberry Bellini”. I asked for a regular Bellini (without the blueberry), but I was told it couldn’t be made because they don’t have peach. Also, when I made the reservation, I was asked if it was for a special occasion. I indicated that it was our wedding anniversary, but nothing special happened during the meal. Overall, it was a good experience.
This was a lovely find. Unassuming from the outside, tucked away in a strip mall, on the inside Redux is very elegant with a cool, modern vibe. Ten family members came here to celebrate a graduation, a couple birthdays, and a mini-family reunion. The staff helped us celebrate by providing great food and drinks, and complimentary dessert! There were a lot of foodies in this crowd, and miraculously everyone was happy. A bonus was a made-to-order meal for my niece who has many food allergies. Thank you for being so accommodating! One downside is the 2-way liquor license; only wine and beer are available, no hard liquor. The good news is the wine list is excellent!
This was an amazing surprise. Our meal was excellent. I had the wedge salad which was the perfect size and the miso salmon. My husband had the salmon bowl. It was a noodle like spicy soup. I had a taste and it was great. We like spicy food! The corn crab cake fritters were crunchy and soft. Tuesday is half priced bottles of wine up to $25 off, so we enjoyed a nice bottle of wine. Our server was very nice and attentive. It's definitely worth the drive to try Redux from Indianapolis!
Delicious food, friendly and responsive service. Really enjoyed it!
The food was excellent along with the service.
One of the best meals we have ever had! Everything cooked to perfection! Owner & chef both came to our table to check on us. It was our Anniversary & they took such good care of us. Wish it was closer to where we live. Sadly, the restaurant was mostly empty. Hopefully people will give this wonderful place a try!
ReDux is one of our favorite restaurants! There were four of us dining and we all had fabulous meals. We started with the large charcuterie board which was delicious and a perfect appetizer for four. The halibut was outstanding as was the salmon...both perfectly cooked with great accompaniments. Our grandson had the meatball appetizer and the duck and was extremely pleased with his meal. Our son had the chorizo flatbread and loved it. ReDux has a great selection of beer and wine. We love the staff, the chef, the owners and the atmosphere! Looking forward to our next visit!
Redux is a very nice, new restaurant on the north side. I had some very tasty quail with a mint and pea purée which was very tasty. My wife had miso salmon with potatoes which was also delicious. The service was prompt and attentive as well. The chef even came out and checked on us. Definitely a place worth checking out.
Seems like the newest best kept secret in town! I've already recommended it to others!
Excellent food and service. Very tasty...our compliments to the chef!
This is truly a neighborhood gem. We will be back. We both enjoyed our meals.
First time here and it was every bit as good if not better than more expensive places. We had the filet and it was perfect, and the wine the owner suggested complimented the meal perfectly. We will be back!
Three of us enjoyed a great meal of appetizers and small plates to share with a bottle of wine—flatbread, charcuterie plate, filet sliders and a crab cake. All tasty.
Great owners who welcomed everyone and gave tastings of wine on our way in. Nice staff that was attentive and gracious, highly recommend.
Always a wonderful experience! I believe this spot is one of the best values around! I sure hope their reboot from Stompin Barley does well! We need a place like this in the area!
Wonderful experience. The meatloaf was delicious. The coffee dusted pork was very tasty. This is an excellent value and a great surprise. We will be back..
Really enjoyed our meals! I had the duck and it was awesome. My wife had the scallops and they were cooked perfectly. (She also loved the beet and goat cheese salad). Definitely recommend!
Outstanding food, service, and ambiance! So glad we tried Redux, will be back soon. The scallops and duck were amazing!
Get in and experience the new Redux!
Same ambience, great service, great value, great food. As far as we can tell, the only thing that’s changed is the chef! Loved the last one but love the new one equally as much! Please go and use this gem of a spot as often as possible!
We were looking forward to trying Redux for our birthday celebration gathering. There were only two other tables occupied in the restaurant while we were there, so we felt that we would have optimal service and attention. Unfortunately, the waiter was also the bartender so spent much of his time behind the bar.
The dishes on the menu sounded delightful, and we were looking forward to them. Two people in our group of nine ordered the sea scallops, one of which came out looking plump and delicious, where as the other came out looking dried and over done like they were from yesterday’s leftovers. Two other members of the party ordered filet medium rare, one was delivered medium well and the other well done and had to be returned. Another member of our party ordered salmon, which came to the table cold, and he didn’t even bother sending it back, instead taking it home to heat up in the microwave for lunch the next day. While the flavors were great and the presentation very nice, all of these problems with the chef led to a poor overall experience. The waiter became less attentive after our issues arose. Unfortunately we will not be going back.
Our party of three had the pleasure of dining here Saturday, March 30. The wine and beer lists were both varied and reasonably priced. We had both beer and wine drinkers and we were happy with the offerings. We had two starters/appetizers: a generous portion of four meatballs and grilled bread and an equally generous charcuterie and cheese platter. The meatballs and sauce had great flavor. The charcuterie and cheese platter had three meats, three cheeses, two breads/crisps, two fruits, a couple olives, honey and spicy mustard. The portions were generous and easily shareable.
Our entrees were delicious. My friend had the salmon. It was a thick piece, perfectly cooked and he raved about it. My husband had the duck breast. I’d read a review about the duck not being cooked to one diner’s liking. They obviously listened and made necessary adjustments because he loved the duck and ate every bite of it and the wild rice it was “perched” on. I had the French onion soup and warm goat cheese salad with creamy herb dressing. The soup had excellent flavor with that depth that’s hard to get. The salad was an interesting combination of flavors. I loved the nuts & golden beets. The fried goat cheese...oh my!!! YUM!!
La Piece de Resistance was the chocolate cake balls on chocolate pudding dessert. It was unlike any dessert I’ve ever had and it was phenomenal.
Greg was our server and he did a great job. He was friendly and attentive without being overbearing.
The Chef came out to each table and asked how our meals were. That is an EXCELLENT thing to do if time permits. It demonstrates that you care what your diners think. I believe it was one of the owners who also came and asked us how we liked our meal. It’s great to have the opportunity to say what you thought about your meal. Please, if you have a compliment or a constructive criticism, tell them. Give them the feedback they need to continue doing what they do or change if they need to. This is a GEM. Give it a try!
In our party of 6, each person loved the food and ambiance. We were able to enjoy conversation easily. Highly recommend.
This is a neighborhood gem! We are so happy that we have a local option that serves delicious, contemporary comfort food in a cool and fun atmosphere. The owners are lovely people who truly care about the customer’s dining experience. This is a must-visit restaurant if you haven’t been already!
