   The local cheeses and pickle accompaniment are excellent and would reorder again. The grilled chicken I asked for pairing with the Hoppin John was superbly cooked. My husband had the shrimp and clams with gumbo-soaked rice and that was also very good. It seems that some of the local suppliers may no longer be in business: one of the reasons we went to Stoke was because of this. It's not obvious if new local suppliers are used as the menus must be printed in the 1000's and difficult to update! The supplier names are also painted on the walls... Nice pre-dinner cocktails too, Stoke Manhattan was good with the entire dinner actually. Plan to return as we live in walking distance.

   The service was the worst I’ve seen in quite some time. We sat for 15 mins before being greeted by our server. It got worse from there. 20 mins for drinks, 45 mins for appetizers. We gave up after 90 mins with still no main course. I would blame the kitchen except our server was MIA most of the time. When we finally approached the manager, she looked at our food ticket and admitted it hadn’t been entered into the system timely. She comp’d our entire tab and we rushed out to catch our show just in time.

   So disappointing. Entrees never arrived in the 1.75 hours we waited. I understand busy, and kitchen backed up, but they never put the order in.

   We enjoyed the food, cocktails and wine. The series’s very slow. I felt the server forgot us. She never asked if we needed anything or if everything was okay. That dampened the experience and I will go elsewhere where we feel welcomed.

   I recently had a business meeting at Stoke, and unfortunately, the experience did not meet my expectations. Given the nature of the meeting, I anticipated a more refined dining experience. The food fell short in several aspects. It lacked the sophistication and quality I was hoping for, which was quite disappointing for such an important occasion. I hope the restaurant can improve its offerings to better cater to business clientele in the future.

   Great experience, except the food took an unreasonable time to be served. Normally not an issue, but we had tickets to a show and were pressured to eat quickly when it finally came.

   Stoke was nice. The food was outstanding. The service was very slow.

   The food was very good. The drinks were amazing! It seemed like they needed a few more wait staff, but overall, a very nice meal and experience.
