Our server was awesome & the food amazing!
Excellent food and service! The halibut was the best I’ve had and the hush puppies were yummy. I will be back!
We visited during restaurant week. The food was great. We loved the scallops, flat iron steak and pork belly. Our server Brett was amazing. He gave detailed explanations about the menu.
We were first surprised at how loud it was. It seems that the kitchen was off while making our meal. The tastes we're good but the execution for the dishes we ordered were not so good. That includes appetizers, main meal and dessert.
Great food. Appetizers were a little bland but main course and dessert were great!
Destiny was an Amazing and attentive server. The food was Amazing. The scallop for the appetizer was the best bite of food I’ve had in a long time. The experience was Amazing!
Food was average at best, very small portions and the drinks were overpriced. $8 for a small glass of local beer is a joke. I've had better dessert at Publix. Would not recommend
Good experience! Delicious food! Highly recommended!
THE BEST RESTAURANT I'VE EXPERIENCED IN CHARLOTTE. EXCEPTIONAL IN EVERY WAY.
I had a wonderful time at Stoke the food was fabulous and restaurant had relaxed atmosphere which made easy to talk to my bff and catch up each other’s lives. I truly enjoyed the open kitchen experience as well it was a lot of fun and exciting to see the food being prepared. I would recommend this place a 100 times over.
The donut is fabulous!!!
At first we were a little nervous about the sincerity of a hotel restaurant that offers locally sourced food. We were pleasantly surprised to find the food delicious and well thought out. The pork belly with sticky rice and the deviled eggs were amazing. The side dishes were also a high point. I wish the main courses were designed more for sharing as they would have been too big for one person to comfortably eat. Would definitely go back
Had a great experience. Everything we tried was so tasty. Definitely recommend!
Fruit flies in the bar. Food was cold. Service was sloppy. Eh. Menu looked great but the experience stopped once you ordered.
Overall, Stoke was a pleasant surprise. It had been a while since my wife and I had been to the Marriott. The last experience was a stay for a concert, where we were treated to the makeshift restaurant setup to accommodate guest during renovations. Not the best experience, but service was good nonetheless.
Overall, we found the menu to be funky cool, eclectic, fresh, and featured local ingredients. We started with the deviled eggs and brioche pretzel bread with the butter spreads. Both were extraordinarily good and very well executed. My wife loved the honey butter spread, but the Cheerwine and horseradish spreads were equally creative and delicious.
Their house featured cocktails were on special, and were unique, refreshingly tasty, and included a local vodka. We had pomegranate and blackberry, and mine was so good our waiter had to strong-arm me into ordering a second one.
Our main courses were equally decadent. My wife had the Stoke burger with glazed bacon and Gruyere cheese that was excellent, and I had the Sticky pork shank with mac and cheese. Both were rich, well-seasoned, and uniquely presented. The prices were fair and the quality and quantity factor were impressive.
I know it’s hard to go to hotel restaurant and receive good, knowledgeable service, that is matched with great food. Although my wife found the menu somewhat limited, we both left satisfied and anticipated going when the new menu gets implemented.
Our waiter, Brett was attentive, funny, and provided good balance between check-ins and chatting. His guidance was much appreciated. Check it out!
Was in Charlotte on business and stayed at the lovely Marriott City Center. Ate at Stoke and enjoyed a delicious, beautifully presented meal. Everything we ordered was terrific! Duck, steak and burger all excellent! Brussels sprouts, Mac & cheese, hush puppies, charcuterie and cheese board all amazing!!! The signature 1# donut for dessert was awesome!!! Highly highly recommend. Wonderful menu, terrific service and inviting ambiance!
Not a good spot. Didn’t realize it was Marriott restaurant. Completely empty, just not an impressive spot for a date.
Came for brunch on Fathers Day at 2pm. The restaurant was basically empty. The server was very nice and the food was delicious. However it took a LONG time to get our food, which had my kids very antsy and overshadowed the positives. Did not understand what the issues was as there were about 4 occupied tables in the entire place. I would go back, but only when I wasn’t in a rush and probably not with kids.
Good for quick low key breakfast but limited menu and understaffed.
We had gone to brunch with a family member that was in from out of town. Awesome service, and food. Open kitchen style. Would recommend
Really disappointed. Small menu. Must google to understand the menu. Expensive and not at all worth it.
Very good dinner. We had a time constraint and the kitchen accommodated us. Destiny was a great server
Excellent experience! Recommend for any business or date event.
The menu is very southern with some flare. As a vegetarian, I struggle a little, but found somethings (sides) to eat. It was fun and classy. I would highly recommend especially for other business meals, but personally I don’t think I’ll be back.
Had a wonderful time at Stoke with friends visiting from the UK!! Service was great, food was fantastic and prices very reasonable especially considering the quality and quantity!! We also celebrated 2 birthdays with the one pound donut - scrumptious!! Chef was so kind and made our day and especially the 8 year old future chef dining with us :-) Lovely experience!! We will be back!!
The food was so expensive, and price doesn't usually matter to me, but this was a bit high. Each main was reasonable, but any side was almost as expensive. We got an appetizer of fois gras..$28 and it was not good. My husband ate it as he was hungry. Small selections. Now it wasn't as bad as it sounds, it's a fine place, service was great, place is pretty. Just not worth going up town...to me
Was way above expectations. Staff really knew the menu both bar and food. Was recommended great options. Not disappointed.
Great food & service! Can't beat the center city location. Will definitely go back for the food!
Stoke had amazing service to go along with their farm to table fresh ingredient dishes. Staff was attentive and friendly making us feel comfortable and wanting to come back. Their craft cocktails were refreshing and the perfect way to start off the summer season.
Loved, loved, loved this place! The food was delicious! Our waitress, Maria, was a great ambassador to the restaurant, the hotel and the City. She described everything on the menu with such delightful detail that we nearly ordered everything and came back the next door to have her serve us again.
Overall, the food is delicious. Had the brunch menu and was not disappointed. I reserve 5 stars for fine dining, but this place is a great stop for casual but tasty dining for sure
Quality of food was poor. Salad dressing saturated the vegetables. $40 meal for a salad and trout was as expensive as our ribeye steak elsewhere. The trout meal had no starch. My wife is a chef and she told me she was shocked because I did a search for Michelin-ranked restaurants, which is how Stoke came up. In the end, Stoke came up short of our expectations.
Delicious! Could not have been any better. The burger was so good.
Very friendly and helpful staff!
Food was great! Location in city center a plus.
Delicious food. Great atmosphere. Get the doughnut on the dessert menu! It's a must!
It remains one of my favorites. We went with a group and 2 ordered the stick pork shank and loved it. I had the pork belly on sticky rice and the Brussel sprouts - both delicious. Of course the one-pound doughnut is always a hit. We had a great table by the open kitchen and could watch all the food prep - it was great to see care they put into prep and plating.
Accommodated a party of seven very well. Would recommend to a friend based off of food, ambiance, and atmosphere alone.
Limited menu- but very good... different and delicious.
Stoke is a great place for a business dinner. Great menu and cocktails with enough noise that other won’t hear your conversation, but not too loud. Quite expensive though.
