Stoic & Genuine
Although the food was good the restaurant is very over priced. Compared to comparable establishments we easily paid 50% more for less food
The scallops were overcooked and only 4 of them with too much butter in the risotto, seemed too rich and not health conscious. For the price disappointing.
Although our appetizer of calamari was a tad on the chewy side and under seasoned, our main courses of scallops and monk fish were superbly prepared and presented. Wine selection is most adequate and if purchasing by the bottle, even better. We spent our anniversary here and look forward to doing so again and again.
Delicious food, excellent service and phenomenal atmosphere.
We dined on a Saturday night. We were sat next to the big windows and it was chilly. We have really enjoyed our dinners in the past however this time the server was a bit off-putting. I ask that my dish did not have any garlic or onion and I was sick the next day so I'm not sure my instructions were followed.
As always one of the best places to have seafood. Oysters to start off were great !! Lobster Deviled eggs and Avocado toast with crab cakes. 👍🏼 and my favorite Lobster roll even more tasty.
All in all and excellent time that we had !!
Had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately the food just wasn’t great. The service was excellent, but the food, wine list, cost and overall experience was just ok. The ambiance was nice, except the music seemed really odd for this kind of place. Overall, it was fine, but not worth the price, in my opinion.
Awesome place! From the beginning to the end. Can’t wait to go back.
It was my birthday and had a wonderful time. Thanks to everyone who made my birthday a great time.
Sensational meal! Great service!
Great place! One of my faves in Denver. The wine list is out of control expensive however!! The wines are so so and they charge 4-5 times what it is in the store! Typically should be 2.4-3 times max......S&G fixes that and it’s unbeatable.
The person who brought the Lobster Roll dropped the fries on my boyfriend’s back, onto his jacket. When we left, his jacket pockets were full of fries. It would have been nice of the restaurant to offer a credit for something.
The staff was excessively fussy about ID’s. We were a group of five people over thirty years of age and one of us didn’t have his ID with him but provided a scanned photo of it. They made a huge deal about how strict the law was but then they served us all drinks. The food was okay tasting.
Easily one of the best meals I have ever eaten, everything was phenomenal. I don’t remember our servers name but she was a delight. Knowledgeable, timely, and friendly.
We had a great time, the food was good, and our server Jim was very knowledgeable!
We had to wait even tho we had rezzies, but the mngr comped a round of drinks! The food I thought was excellent! However VERY overpriced($38 for 3 scallops). The service was a little too "stoic" for me. Overall it was okay.
Excellent food experience. Outstanding service. Only thing we didn’t give a 5 is related to placement of tables, hard to have a private dining experience. Can hear and be heard by neighboring tables.
Amazing food, amazing service! Best part of the night was the Thai Green Curry muscles and the music playlist! Loved it!
Excellent environment, the food outstanding
We had a good dinner and we’d go back. The food is good, though not gourmet or special. The dining room is fun but noisy and too warm. The service was good and enthusiastic but initially we were served the wrong order. On the east coast, with lots of fish restaurants this would be a family type restaurant; one of 100’s. It’s uniqueness is related to the dearth of fish restaurants in Denver.
Generally, everything was very good. But, that’s it, just very good. I wanted it to be more.
Food was delicious. The seafood was very fresh. Our top dining experience in Colorado during our one-week ski trip.
Food was disappointing, menu options so-so, lacked ingenuity, however the service was fabulous.
The restaurant has a cool vibe being in Union Station, but the food is grossly overpriced and lacked flavor. I ordered the lobster roll for $28 and my wife ordered the scallops for $32. $28 for a butter-seared roll with a few ounces of lobster and a side of fries? 3 scallops on a bed of risotto for $32? I get it, it's an upscale seafood restaurant in the heart of landlocked Denver, but with Jax seafood in close quarters, your money is better spent elsewhere. Bartender was great, though!
We booked a table on NYE and instead of a table, we were seated at a counter. Not great.
My first time at Stoic & Genuine is one I'll definitely remember! The food was amazing, the drinks were refreshing and the atmosphere was perfect for an early dinner. Everyone was super nice and accommodating and service was extremely attentive even while the place was busy. I will highly recommend this restaurant to all my friends and family!
First time here. My wife has been wanting to come here for quite some time. The wait was well worth it and will come again.
The salad was limp cabbage leaves and too much dressing. Lobster rolls not at all worth the money. Was very disappointing given the reviews that I read online. Oysters were great corn bread was great but that’s not enough to go back.
Wonderful food and service. Wish we lived here so we could come back over and over
We had to get up and look for our server three times. No one checked on us when our food arrived. Really expected better than this.
Dined with business colleagues who absolutely loved their meals. As always it was great!
We haven’t been there in 2 yrs. I found the food was excellent but the menu and wine list was very limited. The service was excellent also.
We had a truly great experience...
Limited menu which was very disappointing: two of their noteworthy main entrees were not available and only 3 portions of other fish selections were available for our Sunday evening dinner. Apparently due to a very busy Saturday night, their fish supply was depleted. Not a good sign for a restaurant of this caliber and pricing in the Crawford Hotel. Attentive and professional service, in spite of the menu constraints. Not likely to return.
I am a foodie from NY. I made a reservation at Stoic and Genuine for my husbands 50th birthday. I added to the "notes" section on Open Table that it was a special night. His birthday was never acknowledged. The food was eh, portions small, drinks were tiny, and service so-so. My husband's salmon was so fishy tasting, he could not even eat it. Thank goodness they removed it from the bill. No breadbasket offered to my table. It was very disappointing. For 175.00, my family of four could have eaten across the street at Mortons and gotten better fish at a steakhouse! Save your money and eat elsewhere downtown!
Suspicious package missed dinner
Great food and great service. It’s a bit speedy but overall it was a great value and a great meal.
Haddock was awesome. And the cornbread is the Bomb. Everything looked good. Small venue
Great food. Love the lobster rolls. Good gluten free options.
