Stockyard Classic American Tavern Ratings and Reviews
Even though we made a reservation, we still had to wait an extra 15 minutes to get seated. The staff at the hostess desk was okay, not super polite but not rude either. Once we were seated, the waitress immediately came to our table with water, bread, and took our drink orders. The cocktails are overpriced for how well they’re made. The sliders were the best part of the meal. The filet mignon and pork chop were alright, again, not worth the price we paid for. The crowd is interesting. It’s almost like a slightly fancier crowd than you’d find at your local 99. Wouldn’t recommend this place and definitely won’t be coming back.
I went the Stockyard for Valentine’s Day so perhaps this was just a particularly busy/bad night. For being a steakhouse, both pieces of meat ordered were lackluster. The prime rib was poorly seasoned and the beef Wellington was severely overdone and bland. The side potatoes for the Wellington were far too sparse and the baked potato with the prime rib was nearly burnt to a crisp. The appetizer of steak and cheese spring rolls were rather one noted. The price for all of this was far too expensive given the quality. You’d be more likely to get better food at a cheaper price at a place like Texas Roadhouse frankly.
We made our reservation through Opentable and when we arrived the restaurant didn't actually have our reservation, but the staff was great and they seated us right away. The place is popular and there are a lot of people hanging out at the bar. The TV's had a great variety of content on. The food was great and we had a wonderful time.
Think twice!! Stockyard was NOT a good experience for our family. The four of us were excited to go but the food was lukewarm and brought out separately with undercooked steak. The second time they brought back the steak it was just charred black on the outside and still undercooked on the inside. To be fair, management offered me another drink as an apology but without food, I didn't want to accept and meat that's so undercooked is a big deal that a beer doesn't fix. Everyone's meals were so off that we just finished and asked for the check ( which had the steak still on it!). Can't recommend unless you like room temperature food prepared to the chef's liking and paying full price for a partial meal.
This is my second time visiting Stockyard, and I'm glad my group of three decided to dine here again. My first experience was forgettable; however, I was thoroughly impressed this time around. I ordered a pomegranate martini and oysters to start. I was a bit disappointed that the oysters were not served with cocktail sauce along with the horseradish, but I coupled them with the mignonette served instead.
For my entree, I chose the 20oz Ribeye. What a steak! It was sheer excellence, and I was shocked that I was able to eat the whole thing. The broccoli and asparagus were great too - not overly crunchy or soft. The server assistants were on point throughout the meal and very attentive. Our strawberry shortcake was split for us, which was a nice touch.
Overall, I look forward to returning.
My family loves the Stockyard. The food is always delicious and the vibe is fun. Last time we were there my daughter was accidentally served chicken on her salad instead of shrimp. They corrected the problem immediately and also (although we told them it wasn't necessary) they took her meal off the bill!
What an enjoyable evening
We went there for NYE. All of us enjoyed our meals Some had shrimp/scallops dinner, lobster casserole others had prime rib and ribeye. So good. The appetizers ,salads and deserts were delicious too. Good wine list . Our waitress Kristin was great. We had so much fun. Definitely going back
It has been a few years since I've been there - usually the food has been pretty good, especially steaks. This time around, the $42 Ribeye was chewy and a little "veiny" but perfectly cooked as requested (medium rare). Friends had the sirloin tips...portions were small. Walked out still hungry. You should never be walking out of a steak house hungry especially with appetizers.
I am a regular at Stockyard as it is close to my workplace. It is a wonderful restaurant - reliably high quality food and friendly professional service. Their beef is really good, and so is their seafood. This is not a "foodie" kind of place - there's nothing especially fancy on the diverse menu. But most everything is well-prepared.
The one vegetarian entree on the menu as shown on Open Table was no longer offered, which didn’t work for me, and the restaurant ignored my request to put a candle in my father’s dessert for his birthday. Other than that, my dad loved his dinner and the key lime pie was good.
