Our steaks, $80 each, were so blackened, we had bits of charcoal in every bite. The potatoes were room temperature and tasted a day old. The brussel spouts were undercooked and crunchy.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Stock Hill after a recommendation from friends. Every single thing about our experience was perfection. Hannah was our server. She was knowledgeable, kind, and professional without being at all stuffy. She made numerous recommendations from pre-dinner cocktails (the Swifty-something was delish) to appetizers (Lobster Bones are a must), to entrees (steaks cooked to perfection) and desserts (Sticky Toffee Bread Pudding). She shared Chef Jacob Hilbert's back story as well as her excitement about working with and learning from him. We even bonded over our rescue dog stories. James, our busser, and Tiger, the manager, were wonderful and helpful as well. I can not overstate how fantastic and special they made our anniversary dinner. The food is simply exquisite. The ambiance is upscale and lovely. Everyone seemed to be having a wonderful time. We've decided that Stock Hill is our new KC fave. Can't wait to attend the upcoming Montelena wine pairing dinner in April! Huge thank you to Hannah and the gang.

The service was impeccable, our servers were beyond knowledgeable, but also super Midwest friendly and charming. Even a last minute change in timing and adding two persons to our reservation, something I rarely if ever do, was accomplished with a graciousness that is appreciated. Your new chef is… a keeper. I remember a wonderful steak-forward menu when I was there maybe 1 1/2 years ago, but this current menu blew me (and my group in from LA and Nashville) away with the creative ingredients and playful plating. Well done, will not be waiting so long to return (and we LOVED the live music!!!)

Fabulous filet mignon, the whipped potatoes are superb, and consistently the best martinis I have ever had. I don’t even bother to order them anywhere else. The service is flawless. Stock Hill is the total package.

We enjoyed the new menu items at Stock Hill. Always delicious. We ate at the bar so we could enjoy the live band. Very nice! The service was not consistent and we had to ask for everything including silverware after our food had been sitting. As a diner at the bar I would not think I had to flag down a bartender to get another drink. But I did. They gave the priority to the waiters and did not have enough people to make drinks for people sitting at the bar. The bottle of wine we ordered was switched with another and we had to point it out. Diners should always double check what they bring out including the year of the bottle. The wine came out after our food. This is not acceptable. The final bill had someone else’s drinks on it. The wine game and the incorrect check kind of took away from our relaxing evening. We feel like any business can have an “off” day so none of this has discouraged us from coming back, but we are not in any hurry.

Everything about last night was mediocre. Service. Food. Wine options. This place is just totally over-hyped and totally not worth the cost. The setting is super nice. But the restaurant is horribly managed. You could find similar quality in experience at an Olive Garden or Applebees.

Wonderful evening at Stock hill First I want to thank Isaac for being such an attentive and knowledgeable server. He was terrific. My wife and I took our daughter for her birthday. They both had the six ounce Fiore that was tender flavorful and cooked to perfection. I had the KC strip which was the best steak I had since the last time we visited Stock Hill. We had carrots and Mac and Cheese for sides which were excellent We finished dinner with an ice cream desert which was terrific .. It is a real KC treasure that you should visit soon

My filet was good, but 2 mushroom pasta dishes were almost too salty to eat, while short ribs & polenta lacked salt & flavor. Also, one diner got surf & turf to compare to one he made at home & said his at home was better. Entirely too expensive a restaurant for everyone’s meals not to be spot-on. Disappointing…we’ll be going to 801, Capital Grille or Eddie V’s next time around.

It was phenomenal. Wonderful ambience. Excellent food for a high end experience. Only thing that was annoying was high corkage fee and only allowing 1 bottle per table, which amounted to one small pour per person at our table.

Our waiter Isaac and the Manager Tiger delivered red carpet service to my girlfriend and I. Highly recommend for a romantic dinner. I will definitely return for special occasions. Try the pork belly and “What the Duck” they were my favorite.

Food and Service are very good. Steak prices are better then the majority in the area. The cocktails are the best! It is about 2-3hour. I think the dinner should probably not go that long. it is nice not to be hurried away, but I would like the meal to be no longer the 2 hours.

We dined here for our girlfriend 60th birthday. Yes, it's expensive but you have to treat yourself at times. We went on a Friday night when they have live music and this night it was jazz which she loves. There was a slight mix up in our seating but Tiger the General Manager was very polite and wanted to make our dining experience great When seated there was a signed card from Stock Hill by their staff and our first drinks were on Tiger. Our wait staff Husain (my apologies if not spelled correctly) and James were knowledgeable of their menu and drinks. They both were very attentive during our dining. A a huge THANK YOU to Hussain who on my behalf ask Chalis O'Neal to come play Happy Birthday for the birthday girl. Last but not least the food was AMAZING!!! The fried pork belly with tge arugula salad leaves your mouth watering for more. My ribeye steak was the best I ever had. The other ladies had scallops, fillet, and salmon and everyone shared how delicious ithe food was. For dessert Tiger treated tge birthday girl with a chocolate dessert, I don't recall the name but was really good. I took home the cheesecake because I was so full. As all the rest it was delicious. We all had a WONDERFUL time and I would like to thank Tiger, Husain, and James for a very memorable evening!

Staff was very friendly. They cater to a high end client however as a normal joe I put my collar shirt on and fit right in. We will be back for sure.

Madison is amazing, always providing warmth, personal attention and caring service. Food and drink were all inventive and excellent; it is a five star experience in my favorite environment… both beautiful and able to accommodate conversations without having to deal with background noise.

Spend your money elsewhere. First the good - the triple fried French fries. That’s it. Now the bad. We were there (4 adults) to celebrate our 47th anniversary. With the $$$$$, we figured it must be an incredible restaurant. Nope. The KC strip was just mediocre, and for $59 (just the steak) you expect great.The sides (other than fries) were so so, not horrible but not great. My martini, Belvedere up and dirty was so dirty it might as well have been McCormick. Why do they not have quality bar tenders? All of our cocktails (Manhattans, Old Fashions, Martinis) came with the glasses only filled maybe half way … but with a hefty price tag. A visit to the ladies restroom was appalling. The sink had the “hot water” handle laying on the counter, the second stall was missing the lock on the door, and the toilet paper dispenser was barely hanging on the wall. Unbelievable in any restaurant. Then lastly, our server, Isaac wished us a Happy 47th Anniversary, but we did not receive the “fire works” dessert that we witnessed happen around us all night. Just too lazy to do that for us? Ok. Take your celebration/dinner plans somewhere else. There are plenty of fabulous restaurants in KC, but this isn’t one of them.

First time there and loved the place. Beautiful space, great food, excellent staff. Pretty expensive, but at least I felt it was worth it. Definitely going back.

Have been to Stockhill 3 times now and have consistently great food, service and menu options. It is on the pricy side, but it’s worth it for a special occasion. Will be back!

Great place, excellent service, amazing food. It was pretty loud inside, but I suppose that’s the choice of the diners as a whole.
