Wonderful place for special occasions. Creative dishes well prepared and a knowledgeable and helpful wait staff. I will be going back again.
We had Easter brunch there in 2018 and had a wonderful experience with the quantity and variety of offerings. Totally different story this year. We were disappointed...very ordinary...and will certainly not go back for Easter brunch next year.
Our family has eaten at Stock Hill for holiday celebrations for several years now. Service, food, ambience and location are all consistently excellent. Parking has been an issue, but the addition of valet parking has been a huge improvement. My compliments to everyone involved, especially Kevin who worked so hard to accommodate our needs and Dillon, whose tableside manners and attention couldn’t have been better. Kudos! We’ll be back, if you’ll have us.
Ryan, our waiter, was so nice! Beautiful restaurant! Beautiful & delicious food!
One of the best meals we've had in a long time.
Great place. Food was mediocre.
Food and service were impeccable! Dillan was the consummate professional. He was knowledgeable about all aspects of the menu, restaurant, city’s history, and just about anything else you’d want to know!
Coworker from Dallas was in town for meetings and we caught up for supper. Had heard good things of Stock Hill steaks and was not disappointed. He had Medium Rare. I had Medium Ribeye. Both outstanding.
The service was great. Bar & cocktails were fantastic. The food was just ok. Had to send steak back twice for being too rare
Consistently excellent food, service and ambiance. Kansas City's BEST business lunch destination!
The food was fantastic - as usual. Our service was the absolute worst experience we've had at a restaurant in possibly years. Our server came to our table, never introduced himself or engaged us in conversation past a few suggestions. From there, he was pretty much a no-show but we watched him on his phone and in & out of the front door area numerous times. This is not typical Stock Hill quality. Very disappointed in this service experience. Our check came (and was wrong) - we pointed it out & it was tossed on the table (after fixed) and nothing said to us about the mistake or apologies for the oops ... just toss and go. We'll return, we have a server there that treats us very well (sadly, not working this evening or this review would be very different). But, again, our food was fantastic - excellent quality of food. Service needs attention.
We love a good steakhouse and I have to say this one did not live up to its hype. The Lobster Gratin had 2 pieces of lobster, our steak was overcooked, and the blue chess we had melted on top was BAD! After telling our waiter he did not offer to replace our steak, the obvious solution. Instead we got a dessert for free and paid for the steak we did not eat. Very disappointing
A great dinner as always. Appreciate the service and the food was outstanding as is normal. We will be back again soon!
This birthday celebration for my best friend was excellent! She had never been to Stock Hill and that proved to be even better for the dinner. She liked the toast from the beginning, the excellent choice of food and the thoughtfulness from the staff with the birthday card placed on the table. I am sure she will bring her husband to try it out in the future.
Thanks for great service.
Exceptional dinning establishment and is the best in the Plaza area. My first coffee rub ribeye and it was fantastic. Would love to know what is in the rub. Great service and recommendations, will be back the next time I am in town.
Everyone at our table thought the hamburger was amazing. My husband enjoyed the steak salad but thought the dressing was a little heavy. I was going to get the lunch special where you could get a half martini but they couldn’t use gin because of the price point.
Went for a birthday celebration and had a great experience. The food was delicious, the service was on point, and it was really an overall wonderful evening. Highly recommend.
The food was great, on par with what I'd expect, though priced higher than equivalents in the places I have been. The waiter took plenty of time to serve our table. We waited nearly 40 minutes before having bread on the table. He seemed to write us off quickly, and spent much time talking with larger groups rather than handling duties. This was not the caliber of service I'd expect when spending $200 on dinner for two. Certainly not the caliber of establishment for such a pretentious attitude. The bus girl was exceptional, however, and did all the work; without her service, I'd likely have requested a manager.
The drinks are really creative. The lobster dip and meatball appetizers were amazing!! The garlic bread was so delicious!! We loved the wagyu ribeye steaks. The gruyere spatzel, shallot mushrooms and fries were our favorite side dishes. The dark chocolate mouse cherry dessert was the best dessert I've ever had!! The service is outstanding!!! It's a true experience!!! The live music was great too!!! It's a very special place!!!
I thought food and service were spot on. It’s a little pricey but worth it when you’re on a date with the person you love. Also having dinner with good friends.
This was our best experience at SH. I truly attribute this to our server, Tony. He was superb. Unlike our previous experiences at SH, Tony arrived to introduce himself and get us started within minutes after we arrived. Throughout our dinner, he was appropriately attentive. He was very courteous and provided great information about specials and food preparation. It was a delightful evening.
If I was doing the rating, this would be Kansas City’s best restaurant. Hands down.
Very enjoyable evening with excellent food, cocktails and service! We’ll be back!
All of the food was excellent. Tony was a wonderful host.
$250 bottle of wine at 64 degrees is not acceptable and then it was obvious transferring our tab from bar to table was an issue. Amazing sides, salads and the restaurant is beautiful but rough around the edges and the steaks are just not like Capital Grill, actually not even close. It just needs to keep improving and as I guy who eats all the best throughout the US and world I hope for KC they can get there because it has potential.
Hamachi crudo was amazing, crab fritters were horrible because the oil there fried them is was old.
Food was just okay. Service just okay. Very expensive for service and food. Probably will not go there again.
The restaurant is beautiful. The service was good. The food lacked flavor and was overpriced for flavor of the food.
The price of the meal didn’t match the quality of the steaks. Server had a “ hurry up” attitude.
Honestly the best restaurant in Kansas City! I don't know what more I need to do to let the business community know that this is the best business lunch in town. Impeccable food and service every single time.
Great food great service.
Great food, steak cooked exactly the way you ordered, amazing sides dishes
Changes to the menu were disappointing. Not nearly as good as previous time, but drinks were delicious!
Impeccable service, beautiful quiet restaurant - but the food was mediocre for the price.
Birthday for my wife
It was my husband’s birthday and the staff made him feel so special. They wished him a happy birthday at check-in, had a card waiting for him at the table, and gave us sparkling wine to celebrate. The food and drinks were incredible, as always. I highly recommend!!!
Our server Dylan did another fantastic job paying attention to detail. He was always available, and extremely helpful in helping my business guests in their selections.
Excellent service and food. We ordered from the Sunday supper menu. Variety of items to choose from at a great price
Service and food were impeccable!
Stock Hill is a wonderful place to dine. Whenever my family is in from out of town, this is their main request for a dining experience. The food, ambiance and service are second to none. Stock Hill never disappoints!
