This was my first time eating at STK and I had an amazing experience! My waiter Joe Chen and bartender Mikey were EXCELLENT. Joe was incredibly informed about the menu and was really helpful as I decided what to order. The food was perfectly prepared, and so were the drinks.
it was okay, the food isn’t as good as i thought it would be.
Olivia was AMAZING. She made our dinner most enjoyable. The food was also delicious and will be returning soon.
I made reservations for my fiancé’s birthday. I let them know it was his birthday, and before we even got there I put in a special request for seating with good view or an Igloo for his birthday. The seating I was given was crammed next to the elevator on the fourth floor. People kept bumping into my fiancé with their coats on their way out. No fault of their own but because it was such a limited/small space for other customers to walk through. Overall, not the best experience.
Visiting NYC, first time at STK. we had the best time!
Lazlo was amazing! Please ask for him as your server.
Made a reservation for 6 people for outdoor dining. Thankfully we were able to get heated igloos because the restaurant seemed more crowded than I thought it would be and may have beena bit colder. If you reserve an igloo, I wouldn't recommend it if the temperature is below 40 degrees.
We had a bit of an inconvenience with a gentleman that served the drinks but the manager came by offered us a round of drinks on the house and our waiter, Lazslo was able to get us a lovely discount on our bill.
Other than that, Lazslo was awesome, the drinks were delicious and so was the food. Having great music also helped with setting the tone for the night!
overpriced and disappointing. as a new yorker, I am ised to paying for overpriced watered down drinks at places like these...but 21 dollars for "not your daddys old fashioined"? at least my daddys old fashion actually had miore than a half ounce of booze and was not mostly ice. my 40 or so dollar maple rubbed salmon was rubbed with anything but flavor, and a super tiny portion size to boot. And the rooftop was very covid unfriendly with all gueats easily within 6 feet of each other and since everyone was eating nobody was masked. had i not already recieved two vaccines as a health care worker i would have left right away out of concern for my health. i knoe stk is more about the "scene" than the food-thank god for that. but there are so many other better rooftops and steakhouses i will not be returning and would not recommend stk even among the relatively limited number of restaurants now open in the area.
The food was absolutely delicious with the seating with spaced out enough that you could social distance and still enjoy the atmosphere of the rooftop experience. Excellent drinks great music and amazing customer service.
Dined at STK Rooftop for Saturday Brunch with a couple of friends, and we had a great experience. February temps were a balmy mid-40's, but the Rooftop is covered, and functioning heaters are table side at each table. But we didn't need them. The seating was well-spaced for social distance and comfortable. Our server Ana was fantastic and very attentive. A great brunch alternative in the MPD.
Great!! my girl enjoy it ☺️ And the Steak 🥩 with Bake Mac&Cheese Outstanding 🤤💦💦
Food and Atmosphere were spectacular. Definitely will be going back soon. Our server Joe Chen helped us to the max and made our experience incredible. Cocktails were the Highlight for sure!
A great meal and Edward our server had such a good spirit and German work ethic, he nearly set his hair on fire (great heaters!) trying to assure we had a great time - James P.
There are so many other restaurants in the same neighborhood, let alone, NYC that just provides an overall better experience. The security was rude, the hostess was rude. The salmon taste like someone washed it with water and put it on the fire grill, lacked flavor. They do not adequately distance the tables. Just an overall poor experience. As someone who appreciates quality fine dining, this did not deliver, I will NEVER EVER RETURN.
Had a great night at STK last Saturday. Came w/ my girlfriend for our first night in the city in many weeks. We had made a reservation for 2 in an outside table. Getting there, the ambient looked amazing. Everyone taking necessary precautions because of COVID since the entrance where there was a guard organizing the line to speak to the hostess and preventing people for getting too close to each other; the tables were spaced out and there were heaters close to each table in the rooftop outside area. Even though everything looked pretty safe, we wanted to keep ourselves farther from the other tables. We tried sitting on the tables in the uncovered area for extra safety (not sure if really needed), but it was too cold to stay. We decided to leave, but in our way out, the manager Michael came to us and made sure we were able to be accommodated. He saw that one of the igloos was empty and promptly offered it to us to guarantee that we would be able to enjoy a great night. We really had an amazing night, it felt like we were back in the pre pandemic world - but with all the safety needed. Kudos for the manager and for our server, Chip, to make that happen. Will definitely come back again.
We had a really lovely time celebrating my 24th birthday with my parents and my boyfriend. We made the reservation super last minute and I'll admit I was a little nervous after reading some of the negative reviews, but I'm really glad I didn't let those keep me from going. Our server was so kind and amazing (wish I remembered her name!). We had one of the igloos on the rooftop which was a great surprise. They even went out of their way to give us some cake with a candle and cookies for my birthday (without us asking for anything). The food was all delicious. What I thought would just be a casual ordinary dinner ended up being really special. Thank you so much for making our night special!
I appreciated the rooftop being warm but still outdoors.
Food was excellent and the service was superb. Thank you to Sofia for making the night special.
We were seated as soon as we got there with no wait time, right at our reservation time. The rooftop music was a little loud at some points and felt as though we were in a club. The staff was nice, but it took a while to get drinks. Food came out quickly and was good. We went on a colder night so as the sun set it did get chilly but the heaters did help.
The food was amazing, service was amazing, definitely loved the music that was being played. The only thing I didn’t like was the waiting out in cold until my table was ready. My reservation was at 815pm didn’t get in until 910 pm.
Joe was an amazing server on Valentine’s Day. Management needs to addressed before word circulates. The line and system to check in was one of the most unorganized things I’ve ever dealt with. Luckily the employees were great and truly working as hard as they could (with management setting them up for failure.) I will definitely give them another chance but this issue needs to be addressed. You CANNOT have people waiting outside with no heaters for 2hrs+ and take a $200 deposit. That $200 should assure my dining experience. Please fix this so a steakhouse with a great reputation isn’t tainted. Hats off to the servers, bouncers, chef and all staff. Management.... get it together you should be embarrassed
I’d recommend it on any other day but that day was too hectic.
Had a great time for the first time visiting. Had a wonderful waiter in William. Only grip was with the wait but the food was worth it.
With all honesty, my experience was horrible. I had a reservation for the rooftop and had to wait over an hour just to get seated. Granted, this was on Valentine’s Day, but they should of prepared for this. I made my reservation over a month In advance and still had to wait over a hour in the cold. What makes matters worse, indoor dining opened back up and they were getting sedated comfortably indoors in the heat. Now when I finally got seated, my seat was half way outside, so it was still freezing cold as if I was sitting right outside. I had to ask to be moved to a warmer seat. Now for the food, which came out super fast and it did not have any taste. It felt like it was rushed and they forgot to put seasoning. I ordered a item off the menu and they bought back something completed different and informed me that didnt have any more of what I originally ordered. My drinks tasted like it was watered down and say there for 30 minutes before I got it, bad drink. And then I ordered another drink and never received it. So when I got my bill, both (the drink I never revived and the food item that were sold out) was on my bill. To top things off, the elevator was broken when I was leaving and me and my girlfriend had to walk down 6 flights of stairs and she had heels on. My experience was horrible and a waste of $200. I would of left if I didn’t pay my money in advance. And they said if I leave, I will get a gift card to STK, as if I would of wanted to come back. So sad that this expensive restaurant gave such bad service.
Had to wait for over an hour despite having a reservation for which I had to put down a 100$ deposit. This place is being run like a club not a restaurant.
Lovely experience. Staff was very friendly and the ambiance was good. They played great music on the rooftop and it was warm with the heaters. However, the check in process was a disaster. I made reservations two weeks in advance and still had to wait 30 minutes to be seated after already having paid $200 to reserve the table. The food, ambiance, and service still left me wanting to go back. I understand some issues may have arisen as we are in a global pandemic and getting back to re-opening has been difficult. I would still recommend going to this place!
The restaurant was heavily overbooked - probably because they were charging $200 deposits to everyone. Once we got there we were instructed to the back of a 50 person line. We were seated an hour and a half after our reservation. However, we were the 'lucky ones'.
I saw countless people and couples arriving behind us and coming to the realization they were not going to be sat. The 'managers' were fresh out of college and completely inappropriately handled it. Instead of offering refunds to couples who weren't going to be seated, or ones who were waiting for over 2 hours, there was no reconciliation. They ignored you if you went to the front to ask them a question.
The way they had everyone bunched together outside was completely irresponsible and not coherent with any COVID protocol whatsoever. This was a disastrous experience. Will absolutely not return under any circumstances.
Loved it! The rooftop was warm considering how cold it was outside! Heat lamps everywhere, awesome music, and amazing food!
The food was amazing and the experience was just as grand. I wasn't sure what to expect during covid but once again this place did not disappoint! This is my first time being on the rooftop and it was the right choice even for an NY winter!
To top it all William, our waiter, was attentive and made some great cocktail and food recommendations!
Will be back again!
Our waitress Alessandra was amazing and the staff food and drinks was amazing! Can’t wait to go back
It was a great brunch, jessica was a great server
I must admit the service saved this review. Craig and William were such good spirits you would think it was the middle of summer. My reservation was at 7:45 and I sat down at probably 9ish.
- I don’t want to dwell on the no regard to reservations, but you could only imagine and I must mention the over hour wait in 30 deg weather. Unacceptable on all levels. Thank God for your servers!!!!
The food was phenomenal. The drinks were phenomenal. We had spiced watermelon, about 4 each lol. We also had 2 patron shots and with William’s suggestion of orange slice with cinnamon ,( I honestly wanted to keep this secret), We also ordered Surf and Turf Spinalis w/ King crab and Dry Aged Delmonico with chimichurri sauce. Magnificent every bite and the brussel sprouts that William suggested, omg I don’t even like brussel sprouts and I ate every bite!
Overall I will be back in the summer/spring😉
We made Valentine's day reservations roughly 3 weeks prior to 2/13, prepaid the $200 minimum. We arrived for our rooftop reservations about 20 minutes early, only to see about 100 people waiting online outside to get inside & everyone seemed to have reservations. It was complete madness & zero social distancing. We ended up waiting for over an hour outside in 15 degree weather. We eventually were seated on the rooftop, tables were fairly spaced apart, food was awesome (but overpriced) we spent $450 for two people to dine. While we were expecting a romantic dinner, the atmosphere was more of a club, loud music played the entire time, making it difficult to have a conversation. We adjusted to the atmosphere and enjoyed the music, but if you were expecting a romantic night out this wasn't the place . All and all the food was great, our waitress was great but the restaurant overbooked. Some people with reservations never made it inside and I'm assuming refunded their $100 per person minimum.
Pros: the food was delicious and I really enjoyed the DJ set that they had for rooftop dining. The wait staff upstairs were also very friendly and polite.
Cons: I wish the staff had been more transparent about the wait time when we arrived. We had to wait outside for an hour at night in sub-freezing temps to be seated, even with a reservation. Then we were seated on the roof at an open-air, uncovered table without ANY heat. They were eventually able to move us to a different table, but it really put a damper on our evening.
Overall, it didn’t live up to the hype and I don’t think we’ll be returning.
I took my girlfriend here during Valentine’s Day weekend. William was very knowledgeable of the menu, funny and entertaining. He even moved us to a table with a heater once I explained my girlfriend was cold, which was a plus! The manager Michael was very attentive and stopped by our table every now and then to check on us to see if we were pleased with the food and services. Definitely would recommend coming here
Prices went up for Valentine’s Day which is not cool you book with one price and then as soon as they get you they change their prices.
I have been to Ruth Chris , Peter lugars , del Frisco , Ricardo’s steak house , Benjamin steak house, Brooklyn chop house and many more.
I have never paid 500 for two people. Also besides the money the overall experience was not worth 500. Maybe 300 even 350 but not 500 they are over priced.
Favorite restaurant !
Loved the Brussels sprouts!! Absolutely incredible. Drinks were amazing as well. Opted for the rooftop and the heaters were great - very comfortable the whole time.
My experience at STK was great! We sat on the rooftop due to COVID restrictions and it was actually super enjoyable. We had amazing service thanks to William & Omar. Will definitely be back!
This is a gem during Covid-19! We were waited by William and Omar, and it was a beautiful experience(best waiter I’ve ever had). The food was top tier and I would recommend this spot to anybody looking for a swanky dinner with a great view.
