About STK - NYC - Midtown
STK artfully blends two concepts into one—the modern steakhouse and a chic lounge. A large central lounge area is furnished with creamy leather banquettes and textured crocodile tiles, and is surrounded by an elevated dining room for more formal dining. Theatrical lights illuminate each table, while a DJ creates an energetic vibe throughout the entire space. STK Midtown is located in Midtown Manhattan, just steps from the bustling Theatre District. STK Midtown includes an outdoor patio and separate bar during summer months. As anticipated, steak is the main attraction. With a chic and modern mindset, STK offers small, medium and large cuts of meat, as well as naturally raised options and market fresh fish entrees. Aside from steak, signature items include Parmesan Truffle Fries; Lil’ BRGs; Crispy Lobster Tail; Sweet Corn Pudding; and Jumbo Lump Crab Salad.

STK - NYC - Midtown Ratings and Reviews
We ordered a 16oz. Medium cooked steak but it came out to us raw - we had to send it back for them to cook it longer but in unfortunately they cut the steak upon arrival and all the juices were out already. My recommendation would be to tell the patrons that there meat will be undercooked so go one level or two higher than normal to get what you want.
Ambiance and service good however the food was poor and very overpriced. The tomahawk steak for two was not nearly enough for my wife and son and cost $134 -$160 with 20% tip. Not flavorful
The "sides " for the table was barely enough for 2
My rack of lamb was bland and had only 5 chops
We had the cookie with ice cream and the ice cream was a "child's" scoop. Even a Diet Coke was in a small glass and was $5
We never mind paying for quality and we have eaten in many many steak houses in NY BOSTON Miami etc and this STK needs to re-evaluate its portions and its quality if it wants to bring diners in a second time
STK ranked bottom out of 4 upscale Steakhouses we visited this past weekend (Nov 16-20 2017). Del Frisco's came in at #1, closely followed by Capital Grille. For my 40th, STK couldn't find it in them to make anything feel like fine dining, let alone special. We were made to wait 25-mins past our reservation time, the food was average, over-priced, and the service was mediocre. The other locations mentioned here went all out to make our experience amazing in all aspects. Unlikely to go back. Do not recommend.
Booked a table for 9.30 and was still waiting at 10.10. When we asked them at 9.45 that we had been waiting for 15 minutes we were told that it is not their policy to ask people to leave their table until they wanted to. This meant we had to wait another 25 minutes until we could sit down. Would never recommend to book the table for later in the evening as you may not even get the chance to actually eat if no one leaves their table. Can't fault the food though.
I can’t believe this place operates as it does. Do not go hungry. Do not go as a host of any kind. They will keep you waiting no matter of a reservation. I was embarrassed that we stood there for an hour as the hostess gave us and everyone else excuses as to why they were not setting people on time. Service was nice, but slow. Food was average, not with the wait.
The burger was succulent and the Vermont creamy feta in the vegetable salad is a magnificent find! Kudos to you. Please I was able to look at the whole room, which in my business is essential, while my date had the correct seat!! That's hard to accomplish but you did!!
Our reservations were at 9:45 but we arrived early and checked in at 9:20. It was our 20th anniversary- very special night. It was 10:30 and we were still standing, waiting for a table. Manager gave us champagne for the wait. By the time we sat down, I was upset and not really even hungry anymore. Our waiter wasn’t personable- he did his job, took our order and brought our food. The whole place was getting free shots- we never got ours. Very loud- great for birthdays, bachelorettes.
We enjoyed STK in the meatpacking district but the one in Midtown wasn’t what we expected. I made the reservations for 9pm two weeks prior and we waited until 10:15 to be seated. The two women at the front desk weren’t friendly and though I understand it was a busy Friday evening, I was told I only had a 10/15 min wait which turned into over an hour.
I would say everything was excellent except the hosts.
For such a high priced steak house, it would be nice to be greeted without a mouth full of food. I understand you need to sneak in snacks, but at the very least finish swallowing then speak.
Thankfully everything else was superb !
Meat portions were small. The Bronzino was sliced very thin and placed atop a small portion of vegetables. Chophouse salad was great. Mac and cheese was able to share between 3 people and it was very tasty. I ordered Filet Mignon medium well and it came medium rare. Overpriced cocktails that you receive in a small glass. My group ordered the Wild Orchid drink only to have the waiter come back and say that they were sold out. ??? Extensive wine list by the bottle. Live DJ, great bar scene and atmosphere. Would not go back
We booked a table for 8:15. We were finally seated at 9:05 in a terrible table despite being clear it was a birthday celebration. The hosting staff were rude and had a terrible attitude. The food was good, but i expect t this from STK. I’ve been to this restaurant many times before, but I won’t be heading back any time soon.
We were so excited to eat here as we heard fabulous things. The restaurant was beautiful and the staff were excellent but the food was underwhelming and overpriced. $30 for two ravioli?! Crazy and not that great. The bread they claimed was made in house wasn’t even warm and didn’t taste that fresh.
I’m from Los Angeles, but I travel to NYC often. I’ve had dinner at STK NYC four times recently. I always get the 10 ounce filet mignon, and it is exceptionally outstanding. It’s truly among the best you will find anywhere in the world. Salads and sides are also outstanding. My biggest quibble is with the noise level, which is exceptionally high. The restaurant has a DJ, which is pretty unusual in my experience. It’s a very hip, fun place, but the noise level makes conversation difficult. Even hip 20-something dinner guests commented that it was difficult to hear one another talk. Generally speaking, service is good, but some wait staff are less attentive than they should be.
