About STK - NYC - Midtown
STK artfully blends two concepts into one—the modern steakhouse and a chic lounge. A large central lounge area is furnished with creamy leather banquettes and textured crocodile tiles, and is surrounded by an elevated dining room for more formal dining. Theatrical lights illuminate each table, while a DJ creates an energetic vibe throughout the entire space. STK Midtown is located in Midtown Manhattan, just steps from the bustling Theatre District. STK Midtown includes an outdoor patio and separate bar during summer months. As anticipated, steak is the main attraction. With a chic and modern mindset, STK offers small, medium and large cuts of meat, as well as naturally raised options and market fresh fish entrees. Aside from steak, signature items include Parmesan Truffle Fries; Lil’ BRGs; Crispy Lobster Tail; Sweet Corn Pudding; and Jumbo Lump Crab Salad.

STK - NYC - Midtown Ratings and Reviews
We arrived 5 min before our reservation, were not seated for 45 min. Staff were rude and courteous. Food was ok, but not worth price. The atmosphere was that of a loud night club... drunk people next to our table. This will be a good place if you like to eat in a club ambiance. But if that’s not what you are looking for, look elsewhere.
We are definitely not coming back.
Enjoyed my time and the food and service were fantastic. However I believe they had a function going smack in the middle of the restaurant and it felt too crowded and you couldn't enjoy the music. I'm sure it was a holiday party. Other than this issue I would highly recommend.
Pulsing with activity, from the trendy lounge-like house music and swooping architectural ceiling to the lines of stylish patrons out the door, this is not your traditional, somber steakhouse. My friend and I were meeting for an early dinner before theater, and by 5:30 the place was packed. My filet was thick-cut, tender and delicious. Service was prompt if a bit persnickety (absolutely no one will be seated for reservations until the full party arrives). Good place for a special night out.
Our last evening in NYC after 5 great days @London NY. The busy weekend of Christmas visitors had taken its toll on STK. We had booked on the recommendation of colleagues in the restaurant business in London and were very disappointed. Not only did it take us 3 attempts to order a wine that was in stock, we then ordered a fillet and a rib eye and the cook was mixed up between medium and the other medium rare. On feedback, the waiter stated that the steaks were different cuts and there was no acknowledgment of the order being cooked the wrong way around. In fact , we were made to feel as though we were trying to gain some financial discount for giving them the feedback at all. We left paying $239 for a single course meal where we even topped up our own wine more than once. Underwhelming!
Found it to be very expensive. Didn’t think the service was very good. Have been to better places for a lot less money. Wouldn’t go back. Felt the tables were on top of each other. Of all the places we went it was a shame this did not meet our expectations on the last night of our break.
The worst dining experience ever. I had a 9:45pm reservation, and they were only able to sit us at 11pm.
It was an unpleasant experience standing around for an hour, and the saddest thing is that management knows about this. The hostess says it happens every weekend. They overbook and this results In extremely long wait times. The food wasn’t worth the wait to be honest.
This place is terrible. I flew to NYC on 12/1/17 for a business meeting and made a dinner reservation for 12/2/17 weeks in advance. I would like buy them a watch because they are incapable of telling time. Although having a reservation, we waited almost an hour to get our table. While waiting, the hostess/manager walked past me several times and no one came over an offered us a drink or any amenity as a gesture of gratitude for waiting. I found this even more appalling in light of the fact that they called me earlier in the day to confirm my reservation and they made a point of being punctual. When we were seated, I waited another twenty minutes before I got a glass of water. The dinner service was equally dismal, no bread on the table despite asking, after eating an appetizer, no utensils and followed up with lackluster food. The only constant in this place other than the lack of professionalism was the loud noise. It seemed that they were more concerned with catering to the whims and concerns of ill mannered and under dressed Neanderthals. If you want a nice, romantic or festive night out with your significant other, do yourselves a favor and patronize another steak house in NYC.
This is my go-to place for a business lunch because of its proximity to the office. But I was disappointed with the waiter. He had zero personality and seemed almost as though my colleagues and I (group of 3) were a burden. Late lunch hour and the restaurant was not busy. Likely would go again but definitely would make a different request re: servers.
I had an original reservation for 8:15 PM but didn’t get seated till about 915 because everything was backed up. The food was good but service was bad No only way you can get any service was by making having to make eye contact with someone and after we got our dinner the waiter didn’t come one time during our meal to ask if everything was OK. It seems like the place is understaffed
Place is very loud and a mixture of fine dining, after work bar scene, and a disco. Somewhat confusing. Service we attentive. We had an early 5:15 reservation before an evening Bway show so we were able to get right in. It quickly got very crowded with people standing around the bar for the “happy hour.” I would say it’s a great place for a group (if you don’t mind $$$ prices) and after afterwork spot. Not good for intimate dining with conversation. Since we are 80’s music folks my wife really liked the music but that not what I go to done for.
My experience here was terrible.
Not only were we racially profiled by a manager by the name of Danielle, the GM called and spoke for ten minutes explaining why she wasn't at fault and was unapologetic.
Discrimination against ones skin color is illegal and should be taken seriously. Rather it was conscious or unconscious the law is the law.
Waited an hour and a half not to be seated. It it was very busy so after and hour I️ asked one of the hostess how much longer, she didn’t have an answer and was very kind of rude. After waiting a half hour longer we decided to leave. Would not recommend.
We ordered a 16oz. Medium cooked steak but it came out to us raw - we had to send it back for them to cook it longer but in unfortunately they cut the steak upon arrival and all the juices were out already. My recommendation would be to tell the patrons that there meat will be undercooked so go one level or two higher than normal to get what you want.
Ambiance and service good however the food was poor and very overpriced. The tomahawk steak for two was not nearly enough for my wife and son and cost $134 -$160 with 20% tip. Not flavorful
The "sides " for the table was barely enough for 2
My rack of lamb was bland and had only 5 chops
We had the cookie with ice cream and the ice cream was a "child's" scoop. Even a Diet Coke was in a small glass and was $5
We never mind paying for quality and we have eaten in many many steak houses in NY BOSTON Miami etc and this STK needs to re-evaluate its portions and its quality if it wants to bring diners in a second time
STK ranked bottom out of 4 upscale Steakhouses we visited this past weekend (Nov 16-20 2017). Del Frisco's came in at #1, closely followed by Capital Grille. For my 40th, STK couldn't find it in them to make anything feel like fine dining, let alone special. We were made to wait 25-mins past our reservation time, the food was average, over-priced, and the service was mediocre. The other locations mentioned here went all out to make our experience amazing in all aspects. Unlikely to go back. Do not recommend.
Booked a table for 9.30 and was still waiting at 10.10. When we asked them at 9.45 that we had been waiting for 15 minutes we were told that it is not their policy to ask people to leave their table until they wanted to. This meant we had to wait another 25 minutes until we could sit down. Would never recommend to book the table for later in the evening as you may not even get the chance to actually eat if no one leaves their table. Can't fault the food though.
