It was our second date night post birth of our first child and we've never been. We got the dry-aged 22oz ribeye topped that was on special and it was mouth watering. Cooked to perfection, which was also topped with shrimp that was extra but also so delicious. Shouts out to Chef Manny for providing such a wonderful and beautiful dinner. Now down to service, our waiter Justin was beyond a pleasure to have. He was the epitome of what a waiter should be and he made our first experience at this restaurant amazing. From being so welcoming, holding great conversation and being so knowledgeable on what to recommend (which were on point). This place deserves in my opinion more than the total allotted stars that are given. Will definitely be returning. And make sure ask for Justin!
I had a great server & the host was very nice to us. They made sure our wait time was less then expected.
There needs to be a division between the lounge and the dining area. Many lounge patrons infringed upon the dining area, making it uncomfortable at times to eat with someone sitting on a bench beside you leaning on your table with their elbow. Staff were overwhelmed with tables, maybe have staff who just are just bussing tables so that the waiter/waitress can better serve the customers.
The restaurant is beautifully designed. The food is very good. But the service was subpar for a restaurant of that category and price range.
Overpriced but good food and quite a scene if that's what you like.
Server did not offer restaurant week menu. She disappeared and I had to request from another server who immediately provide it. After serving she never checked on us until we were ready to leave when she asked if I wanted more wine.
After I signed the check she came back with another that was more and wanted me to sign that one instead. She attributed it to an error in the order. Apparently she made a mistake but implied some other reason that didn’t make sense. She rolled her eyes and walked away. She didn’t handle the situation with the customer’s interest as a priority.
STK was excellent. When you walk into the restaurant the place is beautiful. The food was outstanding, each person left fully satisfied. My steak was cooked perfectly. But even better were the sides. The lobster mac n cheese was one of the best I've ever had. Overall a great dining experience and would love to go again. Definitely on the pricier side but worth it if you do not mind spending.
Wanted to experience STK during restaurant week, so we decided to have lunch and celebrate a birthday. We were greeted and sat down by a pleasant hostess. Our waiter was amazing and graceful. We chose their regular lunch pre-fixed menu because restaurant week menu didn’t display what STK was about.
Food- amazing and delicious. We all ordered the skirt steak. Appetizers were delicious especially the tuna tartare as well as wagyu sliders.
We were expecting a small happy birthday song by staff, but didn’t receive it. Nonetheless, a nice experience with excellent food and service
I was here with my husband. We are visiting NY for a week so eating out every night.
STK has great lively atmosphere with a DJ playing a good mixture of familiar hits.
We both ate off the Restaurant Week menu. We both chose the same options: cod croquettes; striploin steak and warm chocolate chip cookie with ice cream. The croquettes were so crisp and tasty, the steak was cooked just right. Each course was absolutely delicious! The service great as well. We could not fault this meal!
STK = Super Terrible Kuisine! I was so looking forward to going to this restaurant after looking at the menu and reviews online. Total disappointment! The ambiance is LOUD! There was a DJ playing at 6:30 pm. It felt more like a nightclub than a restaurant. When I arrived for my reservation, my table wasn't ready, so I waited about 5-8 minutes. I got a great table! The rest of this review will go downhill. I waited at least 10+ minutes for my waitress to greet me and another few minute for a glass of warm water (it was 90+ degrees outside so I was thirsty). About 10-15 minutes AFTER that, she took my drink order. The drink came very fast to the table with bread service. The bread with cilantro dipping sauce was the highlight of my meal! Oh and they charge you for the bread service without asking you. A BIG NO NO!!!!! It was restaurant week, but I decided to order off the main menu. Another mistake. I ordered the Sea Bass with lemon aioli, heirloom tomatoes, and wilted mustard greens. When my meal arrived, there was no aioli, the greens were burnt and they was NO SEASONING! It was so bland I had to ask for salt and the aioli. Thank goodness I ordered the mushrooms on the side, because they were much better than my fish. When I complained to my waitress she clearly did not care that I was an unsatisfied customer. I did get the last laugh though. As I was paying my bill, ($98 for flavorless fish) the woman next to me sent her Sea bass back to the Kitchen. I should have done the same and reordered. Better yet, skip STK!
Three of us for restaurant week/pre-theatre. Service was timely/comfortable. Dining room is beautiful. Wagyu sliders amazing. Caesar salad good. Strip steaks very good. Branzino excellent. Sorbet and chocolate chip cookie terrific. Great bar scene. On the pricey side overall but a nice meal!
Great food. Wonderful service. Wine pricey.
Staff makes you feel that you should be grateful that they would deign to seat you at the restaurant. A little too much for a brand that has had its time.
I am a regular at STKs all over the US. I was seated the moment I arrived which I loved. I got the bread and it was Hard, I asked for another and it was hard too. I then got my steak that I asked for well done and cut my steak was still bloody I had to send it back! The pick and cheese was pale had no color or breadcrumbs as I’m used to every other stk having. I would not go back. I like the meat district stk in New York area better than midtown location!
Been here before and it was jamming. Loud music, lots of pretty people. This was a spontaneous Sunday evening and it was much moe subdued, which was fine with me. Food and service were great.
I've dined STK many times in the past and it's been a fabulous experience. We recently went on a Sunday to take advantage of restaurant week and it was fairly quiet. I recommend going on a Friday or Sunday to get the real deal.
Beautiful restaurant and wonderful service !
My friend and shared this amazing dish, The Lobster Thermidor. One word...AMAZING!
Enjoyed NYC Restaurant Week menu. Very good.
The food was delicious, I’ll definitely return soon. I recommend the restaurant to a friend as well. I enjoyed every bite.
I had been to STK once before this time and the experience was pretty good dj was great and food as well. This time i went for restaurant week and i was told I would be seated right away instead I waited for about 40 mins, they sat everyone else & then finally once every was seated they finally sat us after seating people who came after us. Once we sat we had to ask for the menu for restaurant week and our waitress was very unattentive. The food wasnt that great either the steak was very salty and not cooked to my liking.
Not great. Gorgeous space, but that doesn’t make up for the expensive and poor quality food. Service was fine, but nothing to write home about.
From the host staff to the bar staff to the servers — everyone was cheerful and accommodating!
Food was delicious. The mini burgers appetizers are mouthwatering.
Went for restaurant week. Had to ask for the menu. Ridiculous. Food was average
Did not like that we had to wait for our table even though we had made a reservation prior. There should be no excuse why we weren’t seated at our reservation time. Restaurant should be mindful of timing when seating walk-ins. Other suggestions would be to put a cap on the number of reservations or change the time gap between reservations (i.e. 6:00, 7:30, 9:00, etc)
Very enjoyable meal with the family during our holiday in NYC. Steaks were excellent - the bone-in filet was superb. Lovely Malbec to alongside it. Wife had cocktail which was also enjoyable. Best meal of the holiday was agreed by all!
Food was severely disappointing. In my opinion, it's popular for the setting and ambiance, but definitely not for the food. When the starter bread is one of your favorite "dishes" at a restaurant, that's a bad sign. This is supposed to be a modern take on a steakhouse, but the steak was below average in my opinion. Service is great, very attentive. For the price though, I expected so much more.
Great lively restaurant and bar, great food and wine without the stuffy experience that you get with lots of steak restaurants
Waitress was rude. Hostess no personality .
Del friscos way better !
My only complaint is that I made my reservation via OpenTable, but STK says they did not receive it. Not sure what the disconnect is between the two. Nevertheless, the hostess still got us seated promptly.
Food was great and the waiter was really nice. We had a reservation but had to wait about 30 min to get our table. Considering they tell you if you’re 15 min late they will give away your table, i don’t think it’s ok to make you wait more than that if you have a reservation. Prices are a bit high but expected for a place like this. Overall a fun experience. The steak was delicious.
It was amazing!!! The vibe was amazing, the staff was extraordinary. First time there and it will forever be my favorite.
Overall it was nice! But one very upsetting thing was that my friend and I had to wait an hour to be seated, consider that our reservation was for 8:30 PM. So we got to the table at 8:39 PM
Food was delicious and unique but that one portion was very inconvenient since our car was parked on the meter 5 blocks away , we were after work... it was just not nice..
but as I said food and atmosphere were amazing
We waited over an hour past the reservation and left. The hostess told me I would get a text when our table was ready and three days later I still haven't gotten a text.
The staff are professional, nice, and helpful. Everything I ordered was delicious (except the codfish croquettes). I will definitely return.
The place was very loud. Floor was shaking because of it. The service was awful. Long waits for food, the waiter spilled water all over the table, and I asked three waiters for sauce that never showed up. Staff was unprofessional, and the food was mediocre.
The food was just ok. Nothing special so I'm glad I only dined for restaurant week where the prices were discounted. The service however is lovely and the ambiance is chic and high energy.
