Fancy environment and the meat was fantastic, the attention was in all time really good
Our favorite NYC restaurant for girls night. Amazing steak, drinks, and service. The dry aged delmonico is my favorite. A
It was okay
From the moment we entered the restaurant, we knew we had made a fine choice.
The ambience is lovely, the variety of banquettes ranged from 2 to 8—the feeling of
privacy and coziness prevailed. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly and
professional. The menu was quite varied - we chose steak. It was served just as we had ordered.
We enjoyed a couple of dipping sauces which were tasty and warm. There were many sides to
choose from—wish we could have ordered more! Desserts options could please any sweet
tooth—we chose the warm cookie and ice cream to share.
We will definitely return to STK and recommend it without reservation.
The only reason I didn't rate all 5 stars is because the restaurant menu said $42 per person but we were charged more. There were a couple of items that were more but on the menu they put it in such a light color and the ambience in the restaurant was very dimly lit so not even one of us saw that. When we got the bill it was more than we anticipated b/c they charged us $10 more for 2 items each and we were confused. When we saw the menu and told them you can barely see it they apologized but just pointed it out and still charged us. They should have removed 1 at least as a gesture of good will esp since they also should have mentioned when they took the order or handed us the menus since it was hard to see. When we selected the item that was more, the waiter should have said "that item is $10 more is that okay?" I felt like that was their tricky way of making guests pay more during restaurant week. It should have been clearer. Other than that the food was amazing esp for restaurant week since usually I feel like some places don't offer the best items.
A pleasant date night experience in Manhattan but I’ll go looking for better value elsewhere. Portions were meager for the price which were on the high side even for Manhattan. This place is betting alot of the atmosphere but not the food. There’s great lighting, beautiful vaulted ceilings, and a live DJ spinning. The cocktail was rather average and watered down in my opinion. Markup on wines pretty steep. Meanwhile the wait staff was very good, attentive and cheerful. Go once and see for yourself, but don’t go for the food.
Headache causing pounding noisy music. This is not a steakhouse, it's an incredibly noisy club that pretends to be a restaurant. I checked it out for restaurant week, and I wasted $77 plus car service. The steak was ordinary, nothing to write home about. The potatoes were mushy. The key lime desert didn't taste of key lime. But people don't come here for the food, but to party. Some customers actually got up and danced like idiots. The movie Animal House comes to mind. If you are over 40 or so, stay the hell away. Avoid the place like the plague, rather go to an old school steakhouse like Gallagher's, Old Homestead, or Frankie & Johnnie's where you will get quality steaks in a quiet place and with old school charm, and value for your money. It's about the steaks, not parties.
Quality of food and service was good, ambience was good also, quite loud and buzzy. Although our waiter was charming and helpful, we did feel rather rushed with our meal with the waiter pressing us to make dessert choices just as my husband was finishing the last few mouthfuls of his main meal.
I usually never write reviews but my meal was so disappointing tonight that I felt compelled to. My friend and I ordered off the restaurant week menu with the additional wine pairing. While I understand that the waitstaff is usually less than thrilled with this choice, some level of service might've been appreciated. It took around 25 minutes of asking for steak sauce from 3 different people (including a manager) to receive. By the time I received it, I noticed my medium rare steak was over done. Unfortunately my attempt to flag down a server took another 15 minutes so I gave up. My last glass of wine was never brought out. When I finally found the waiter to ask, he replied that no one else wanted the third glass tonight so he didn't bring it. I then got the bill and was charged for my sad steak sauce. I could've had a quality steak and service elsewhere as the bill came to around $200 in the end. Very disappointing experience from the STK brand.
STK never disappoints during restaurant week in the quality and type of food offered on the menu. HOWEVER, the caveat for anyone dining there is "take your earplugs". This is not a place to sit with a date and have a quiet conversation, or with a group and expect to talk across the table. There is a DJ blasting music (although he stayed away from heavy rock and rap during our visit with a 6:00 pm reservation on a Thursday). Forewarned is forearmed as they say. If you want a lovely quieter meal in a beautiful space.....go for lunch. A lovely space, but for millenials and businessmen impressing colleagues with a large dining out budget.
We were there during restaurant week and, although the prices were significantly reduced, we were impressed by the delicious food in generous quantities. Most impressive, however, was the gracious hospitality, which gave no suggestion we were other than full-paying customers. Service was outstanding and I’d return, even without a discount.
Thoroughly enjoyed this unique restaurant whilst visiting from the UK. Food great and the live DJ made the evening really good fun. A word of caution for families- this is a VERY lively bar/restaurant and the later your reservation the less suitable it becomes for young children; our 10 and 15 year old absolutely loved it but definitely not suitable for younger kids, and we left around 9.45 pm.
For the price, we expected better food and better service. Glad we tried it but will not return.
Great atmosphere for fine dining and great ambiance and energy for socializing.
Great food, service and ambiance. Midtown location perfect for pre theater dinner.
Opted for the 45 minute lunch but the waitress took over an hour to get us our entree.
Really not sure what you are paying for....the food was mediocre and the portions tiny. I got the fish and it was absolutely swimming in soy sauce. Had to ask for a new plate so that I could remove the fish from the sodium bath to make it edible. My colleague had a steak that looked like it was pounded to death and she said she could taste the salt in every bite. Service was extremely inattentive. 3 people - 2 express lunch deals , one 6 oz filet, side of fries and 2 cokes = $200 for lunch. Won't go back.
Lovely food, but service slightly slow even though we had said we had a theatre booking. More expensive than I expected & noisy, more like night club vibe. However food was lovely
My Server channel was wonderful, patient and kind. the steak was amazing as well as the dessert. I will definitely go back again!!!!!
The pre fix lunch special was very unsatisfying. Portions were extremely small. I left hungry. For $35 I would have expected a better lunch. Won’t go back there for lunch.
The food was amazing. Best steak I’ve ever had. Perfect!
What a bad experience. I’ve never given a review before (good or bad) but this was restaurant missed the mark on pretty much everything. First, was the food. All of our steaks came out cold (one had to sent back). The sides (mushrooms specifically) were cold and had the texture of rubber. Unfortunately, the waiter just shrugged if off, and brought us out a new steak. Not much better than the last and the filet (supposedly cooked medium) was also rare and cold.
Unfortunately, the quality is just not there for an expensive steak house. We dine and have dined at some of the nicest steak houses around and quite honestly this is one of worst I’ve been to.
The manager (after we told her at the end of night) did provide us with a glass of wine. But in all honesty, the waiter knew the food was bad and did nothing. Bad food, bad service = bad experience.
Not kid friendly at all, felt very rushed and made to feel uncomfortable even though are kids are well behaved.
perfect to celebrate any happy ocassion, STK restaurant is delicious, kind people willing to make your experience a happy one!
Delicious as usual!!! Love the shellfish platter & corn pudding! Drinks are always good too!
The Caesar salad was warm. But the fried oysters, Long Island strip and potatoes and key lime cheesecake were awesome. Our waiter wouldn't or couldn't spilt up the bill per couple.
Well passed expectations and been there with kids but better with adults. Very good food with club styling loud good music. Liked it
I would recommend because the atmosphere was really great. However, we had reservations and still had to wait 30min for a table
This place was LIT on a Wednesday. So surprising. Waited about 30 minutes for our table even though we had a reservation (they did apologize to us with a round of Prosecco so deff bonus points). The food was really good and so were the drinks. Only thing I will say is that I ordered my steak rare to med rare and my date ordered his med rare, both steaks came out medium to medium well. So kinda disappointing on that end but overall really good meal. They also come around the whole restaurant and give you free shots a couple times, so it’s a pretty fun place to go (this was a 1st date and honestly we were both super hyped by the atmosphere, I think that may be a big reason why we will be having a second date) haha
Dinner was very good. When I arrived the music was incredibly loud but after mentioning this to our server and the manager they did adjust the volume which was very kind and enabled conversation .
I love the fact that one can actually order an 8oz steak instead of being forced towards a 12 or 16 oz steak. I wish other steak houses would see this tremendous service especially for women. An overall lovely experience .
I always love coming here for a great meal and drink. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.
Good meal. Food was good, tuna tartare was bland though. Great service and good ambiance.
Service at front hostess, cocktail waitress and waiter are impersonal and perhaps snarky. Big price for average to good food. Need to do something different to attract repeat customers.
Chose STK for an anniversary dinner, party of 5. The ambiance was energetic and fun but not too loud that we couldn't talk and hear one another. The vibe was very relaxed and the DJ played great songs that added a nice vibe.
Our server was pleasant, polite, and very accommodating. Despite the restaurant being packed, she kept her eye on our table quickly attending to our needs.
The food was delicious, drinks were perfect, over all a really great experience!
They must have overbooked or maybe some staff called out. We had a reservation and had to wait nearly 30 minutes for a table. Waitress was okay...required lots of follow up.
I LIKED THE RESTAURANT. THE FOOD AND AMBIANCE WAS GREAT, HOWEVER, THE SERVICE WAS NOT ACCEPTABLE. THE TIME WAITING FOR EACH DISH WAS TOO LONG. OUR WAITRESS WAS TOO BUSY TENDING TO A TABLE OF ABOUT 15 PEOPLE AND OUR TABLE OF 2 FELT LEFT OUT. NO MANAGER CAME TO THE TABLE TO SAY ANYTHING OR EVEN APLOLGIZE.
Fillet was excellent! Very pricey but not unexpected in the city. Vodka martini average size but small for the price and not cold. "Ice" water had no ice and was just below room temperature. High price place like this should be perfect.
Overall, the food was good enough for the price, but for the prices it could have been a little better. The sides were expensive for what you get. The steaks only come with the steak then you have to pay for "toppings". Do realize you are in Midtown Manhattan. I would recommend others to try. But I have had better for the same prices and portion sizes.
From the sides to the steak awesome
Absolutely love this place! The music was excellent as well as the food! The ambience set the mood for an extremely romantic dinner.
