Mediocre food at typical steakhouse prices. Inattentive service. No plans to return.
Our experience at STK was amazing . My sister enjoyed her birthday and loved the ambiance of the restaurant. Our waiter Marcus was a true joy for our first time and helped make the evening more enjoyable.
Delicious steak. Great side choices. Daniel was excellent server. Celebrated our anniversary. Made it to theatre in plenty of time.
Food and service was above average. Noise level a little too loud for my taste, perhaps more aligned to a younger crowd. Loud Disco music not really needed for dining.
Went on a Thursday night, several open tables and we had a reservation. The hostess did not seat us for 30 minutes. The restaurant played techno music fairly loud. The food was decent, but I did not enjoy the dance music combined with a sassy hostess.
We had a 6:30 reservation and had to wait an hour to be seated. It was another 10 minutes until we got bread and water at our table, and another 10 after that for our order to be taken.
The music got louder and louder every 10 minutes to the point where we had to shout across the table at each other. Around 915 the entire wait staff came out with trays of shots which felt more like something you’d see at Cancun spring break then a midtown restaurant.
It took almost 45 minutes for our food to arrive, and we didn’t even order appetizers. The food was tasty but compared to other similar restaurants didn’t offer anything unique. Our server also never came to check on us after our meals were served. The fastest part of the whole night was once we were ready for the check it showed up in seconds.
A beautiful room, food excellent, but was disappointed that the birthday occasion was disregarded. Perhaps because the Open Table reservation didn’t communicate it to the host or service people. I didn’t have opportunity to alert them again and was hopeful that it was communicated since the site asks for that info.
Servicio aceptable. No lo recomiendo.
I proposed to my girlfriend and they were very accommodating to my special requests. The food and service is top notch. Definitely worth the money and great for dining in or special occasions!!!
Service was above expectations. All the wagyu menu items are worth trying !
Everything was great, food, drinks, ambience, great service. My only complaint is too loud for dinner. My suggestion have dinner before seven and it will be fine. By 9 the volume goes up and very hard to have conversation
The food quality has dropped significantly
I will not come back
Amazing restaurant; great food; excellent service, fun atmosphere
STK is more club than restaurant. The music was very loud and although the DJ was actually really good, it was virtually impossible to have a conversation with a group of 5. A party of 2 might find it easier to manage. Service was perfunctory- not bad, but no standouts either. The chilled seafood appetizer was very fresh and the sea bass I had was interesting and well prepared. I won’t go again because of the loud music.
A Business Lunch at STK Midtown on Thursday, September 6th was OK by New York City Steak House parameters. The space is cool and sleek in the amazing Grace Building. The Waitress was a seasoned pro and did her job well. The food was OK. Mini Burger appetizer was quite good. Lobster Roll main course was dainty and pathetic. The Steak was pretty good. The restaurant played very loud 80's Pop music, which made it seem like we were anywhere except for New York City. The thing that really stuck out about STK was the absolutely filthy ceiling. Looking up beyond the white rib cage that flatters the tall ceiling, the ceiling surface was caked in dirt and dust. It is disgusting and there is a constant fear that particles are falling down into your food. I've really never seen anything like it in a Restaurant before, it is appalling that such a nasty level of filth could be reached without the Manager just having the space cleaned. I will never return.
It was my wife's birthday and the staff made it fun for all of us. This steak restaurant not only had a vibe, but also very good food.
Everything was AWESOME as always, I’ve dined here before but was my moms 1st time and she truly enjoyed. Mom was visiting from Dallas,TX
The steaks were exceptional, cooked to perfection and tender. Our server, Daniel, was the nicest, most helpful server we’ve encountered in a very long time. He should be commended.
good food..good wine...very loud..difficult to talk
Easily the most overpriced but underwhelming steak I’ve ever had.
Very nice evening in a pretty setting. The management, along with the staff, made sure we were happy with our dinner.
The food is fantastic. Plenty to share with another person.
Cool ambiance, but indifferent service, under cooked steak, food ( $72 steak) not worth the price
Great dinner (bone in ribeye), service and the DJ played great up beat music (not to loud). Look forward to returning on our next visit to NYC.
Best Steak I’ve ever had, hands down! My Girlfriend had a wonderful Birthday dinner.
I've previous dined at the Miami location so I knew what to expect which is a fun, lively atmosphere with good drinks and above average but not the best steaks. It's Sean's favourite restaurant brand so I figured to give it a shot, although he prefers the rooftop downtown. The service is really top notch and some of the so called best steakhouses in NYC could benefit from copying that model. The bill is hefty...dinner for 2 including a $75 bottle of wine was north of $400 excluding tip.
This was a poor experience. Quite possibly worst steakhouse experience I’ve ever had. Where do I start? Waiter was a mess. Could get a sentence together and scatter brained. Asked for bread 3x, water twice. Ordered bottle of decoy cabaret, and it arrived HOT. Not room temperature...actually hot. We had to ask for a champagne ice bucket to cool it down. Apps were ok...Tuna tartar and octopus. When the steak finally arrived with the sides, nothing was satisfactory. Steak seemed to be sutting under lights same with the broccoli. We had to ask where the meal was 3 times. Sent broccoli back, didn’t even bother with the meat, which was cold and had no juice on it.
All I can do is praise this place. Great steakhouse
Service was excellent; ambient music spun by live DJ was a nice touch!
This was a fantastic place to celebrate my partners birthday occasion! The staff was so attentive and courteous to serve us a complimentary birthday candle and sorbet before we left! Little things like that truly make a difference and we are very thankful for that.
As for the food, my partner wishes the meat options had sides included instead of ordering separate sides. Also, as a vegan, I opted for the vegetable plate entree and a side of Crispy Garlic Broccoli. My issue was that crispy broccoli menu description did not state any toppings which whe it arrived at our table, I believe it was Parmesan topping. Couldn’t eat eat it although my partner loved it. It did look amazing! If I had known, I would politely omit the topping.
Overall, I truly recommend this place to anyone who desires to visit a beautifully elegant steakhouse accompanied by delicious food options that makes for a memorable experience!
Amazing. Service and food was great! I believe our waiters name was Omar? I hope- he recommended great items!
We've been to the downtown location and this one is just as good! We went on a Monday night so there was no live DJ but they still had great music playing in the background. The food is amazing every time. I had the skirt steak and my husband had the filet. We shared the broccoli (so good) and asparagus sides and started with the half lobster chilled as an app. The meal ended sweetly with the ice cream dessert. We didn't have drinks this time because I was pregnant but the food made up for it. Pricey but totally worth it!
My experience was great. The food and dessert was delicious. The ambiance of the place is romantic and the music is great. The waiters were very attentive. The drinks/cocktails are a bit pricey and not strong. Didn’t get a buzz 😔 but I had a great time. I will return when the DJ is there. We
Insanely good food and service! Music is 80s and 90s awesome dj
Great Restaurant! my partner and I enjoyed this restaurant very much and they gave us a great seat. I liked the ambiance, food, service were all great. wine pours are very "poor" so recommend do not buy wine by the glass but by the bottle. I have a feeling the management there has something to do with this. not wise to short the customer as they remember this...
First visit to STK and From the hostess to the waiter, the service was superb. The meal was delicious and we will return.
Special occasion wasn’t celebrated even though STK were advised of my daughters special birthday which was such a disappointment. However, couldn’t fault food and service.
Such an amazing experience for a bouji date with a few cocktails! Absolutely LOVE. Will be returning. Bring your best card though its expensive but worth it!
The restaurant was simply a fabulous finale for our anniversary “ week.” The staff and patrons alike joined in to make our night beyond special. Michelle, the amazing and consummate general manager; the beautiful hostesses, Kianne and Mia; our lovely server, Rachel, and our fellow restaurant patron, William - all and many others such as as Kianna and Carmella, created a celebration par excellence and one we will never forget! Thank you everyone involved for making our (twentieth) anniversary the best one ever! We look forward to a return visit when we return to NYC. STK rocks!
