About STK - NYC - Meatpacking
STK artfully blends two concepts into one—the modern steakhouse and a chic lounge. A large central lounge area is furnished with creamy leather banquettes and textured crocodile tiles, and is surrounded by an elevated dining room for more formal dining. Theatrical lights illuminate each table, while smoky mirrors allow patrons to catch a glimpse of the surroundings as a DJ creates an energetic vibe throughout the entire space. STK Meatpacking is located in the heart of NYC's Meatpacking District and is the brand’s flagship location. Steak is the main attraction. With a chic and modern mindset, STK offers small, medium and large cuts of meat, as well as naturally raised options and market fresh fish entrees. Aside from steak, signature items include Parmesan Truffle Fries; Lil’ BRGs; Crispy Lobster Tail; Sweet Corn Pudding.

STK - NYC - Meatpacking Ratings and Reviews
We came in for restaurant week to blog about the event itself. The food and ambiance was great. The Only upsetting part was our waitress -she was not friendly & nice at all due to the fact we asked for the restaurant menu. She looked at us like we couldn’t afford any thing in there. We came for the “restaurant week” to blog about participating restaurants. So, no I won’t recommend this place for restaurant week. B’Coz that was rude! They should treat people with kindness.
Upon arrival, host was a bit harsh, but manager was able to make rest of experience enjoyable. The waitress was exceptional and provided outstanding service as well as her team assisting. Food was delicious and perfectly served and plated. Drinks were divine and ambiance made it all perfect. Highly recommend this location especially for late night as a live dj plays awesome tunes and beautiful people show up to enjoy their evening at STK
Worst service I’ve ever experienced! Front of table barked reservation at us without even looking up. Service was rushed through the whole meal, food was thrown at us before our wine came out. My boyfriend ordered his t-bone medium rare and asked for it to be cooked some more when it was served rare - they agreed but the chef came to the table to check on us and said he would never recommend any steak be cooked rare other than a fillet!! We agree, that’s why we ordered medium rare! Food was good but no excuse for such rude service in a city with so many amazing restaurants. Would not recommend.
My friend had a wine bottle hit her from the table next to us. Only a little bit of red wine got on her but it was still surprising. They did give us free desert.
Disappointed in the bathroom. There was no attendant. There was water all over the floor and no toilet paper j at least two stalls.
Starting with a martini for $22, I found the menu a little overpriced. Dinner for three without apps and a nice bottle of wine was over $450. But the main objection was the noise. It was impossible to carry on a conversation over the booming music. The restaurant clearly caters to the rave crowd. Not suitable for a business dinner.
OK let me preface this review by saying that I did not even get a chance to eat here, which is the entire point of my rating.
So I had a 9:30pm reservation. Knowing that I was running late and wanting to be courteous, I called this establishment 6 times, from 8pm to 9:10pm, a whole hour and a half ahead of my reservation time. No one picked up not even once and what infuriated me even more was that the automated message kept telling me that my wait time was 1 minute, then 5 minutes later it would tell me it was less than 1 minute, then 5 minutes after that it would just hang up on me. This happened about 5 times, and on the 6th time I tried to go to the reservation desk to let them know and that just took me straight to voicemail. For an establishment to not have anyone man their phones for over an hour is completely laughable for a place like New York City, and I will expound on the reason why (other than lose listed above) later.
So I proceed to change the reservation online to 11:30pm, since no one picked up and I did not want us to end up there and have to wait, even though I knew we would arrive well ahead of the time. So we get there early, around 11:00pm, after wasting a lot of time just to meet the reservation time. We entered the restaurant around 11:20pm. I told the person at the front desk my name, and because the music was extremely loud, after 4 times of trying, I had to go to the CRM system and point out my name myself. He tells us to wait for our time, so we wait patiently, and he disappears. A lady is behind the counter, so I ask her about our reservation, as we had been there for 15 minutes now, and she says our table is still not ready, that they are just waiting for people to get up and then we shall be seated. I calmly step away again and wait and she also disappears. 20 minutes after waiting, there's now someone new at the counter and I ask her and she tells me that there are about 4 groups waiting to be seated before us, so we left! Insane
This was my second time at STK and I was very disappointed. We made reservations for 9:45 and arrived around 9:15. We were not actually seated for our 9:45 reservation until 11pm. We were offered no apology, we were just seated. Essentially, they had overbooked and many patrons waited over an hour to be seated and some even waited 3 hours. On top of that they brought out something we didn't order and when we tried to send it back because we didn't order it but we were told not to worry about it and it would be taken off of the bill. Naturally, when the bill arrived the baked mac n cheese that we did not order but didn't even bother complaining (although we did write it on the bill itself) because it would take too long to wait for the server to change the bill (we had already waited about 20 minutes after we told him we were ready for the bill). Overall - it's fine to be busy and it may even be ok to overbook but the staff needs to show some compassion for people having to wait hours. It was ridiculous.
My friend had her purse stolen. I know this isn't STK's fault, but it would have been nice for security to be more active on the ground during Friday and Saturday nights. We came here for restaurant week for a 10:45pm reservation. Came right at 10:45pm and wasn't even seated until 11:30pm. The place is really loud and our waiter was really rude. We also only got our appetizer and then dessert. Our waiter tried to bill us for the entire meal and I refused to pay for it. Our main course never came and by the time I told the waiter, the kitchen was closed. The manager came over and let me know he wasn't going to charge us because of the incident with my friends purse, but it would have been nice for him to acknowledge we didn't even get our food. On the plus side, the appetizer was delicious and I enjoyed the music. Would I come back? Probably not. They are very unorganized and it shows with the staff. The waiter was so confused on how we didn't get our main dish and kept asking if I was sure. Our silverware was clean and had no food traces on them. Overall, not the best experience and there's plenty of similar places like this in NY.
We had a pleasant time but we did not appreciate that our waiter was left with 9 tables on the second floor to attend all by himself. He should have been given extra help. He was a phenomenal waiter.
Also, I ordered the steak medium rare and it arrived well done....too chewy.
Had a reservation for 9:45 got seated mins to 11. Waited 30 mins for the waiter to come didn’t get to eat till after 12 service was horrible club atmosphere which was cool good music and the food was great ended up getting the check almost at 1 am. For the price the service was below standards. Maybe cause it was restaurant week 🤷🏽♂️
Horrible experience, which was a huge disappointment because we love STK south beach. When we arrived, the host asked us the gender of the people in our party. Why was that necessary? Three of the bottles of wine that we ordered were not in stock, we had to go with our FOURTH choice. Ridiculous! Finally, the steak was barely edible. Cold, over cooked and lacking presentation. I was honestly shocked that the experience could be this bad, I expect more out of this restaurant group. Should have stayed in Brooklyn and had dinner at our neighborhood bar. It would have been a better experience.
STK is a very trendy steak house. It's in a great location and the food was great. Our server was very sweet and made great recommendations. A little pricey even during restaurant week, but its a must go. Live DJ plays great music, but just a tad to loud to hear the person across from you.
The food was amazing. The lobster and creamed spinach was best entree and sidd dish on the menu. Definitely order the lobster Mac and Cheese. You will regret it if you don't. The cucumber martini gets 5 stars. Shot out to the bartenders. Finally, the DJ was spinning a mix of old and new songs that made us want to dance all night. #KerryBerry I will be back.
Your thanks Johnny the manager who gave us drinks.
