About STK - NYC - Meatpacking
STK artfully blends two concepts into one—the modern steakhouse and a chic lounge. A large central lounge area is furnished with creamy leather banquettes and textured crocodile tiles, and is surrounded by an elevated dining room for more formal dining. Theatrical lights illuminate each table, while smoky mirrors allow patrons to catch a glimpse of the surroundings as a DJ creates an energetic vibe throughout the entire space. STK Meatpacking is located in the heart of NYC's Meatpacking District and is the brand’s flagship location. Steak is the main attraction. With a chic and modern mindset, STK offers small, medium and large cuts of meat, as well as naturally raised options and market fresh fish entrees. Aside from steak, signature items include Parmesan Truffle Fries; Lil’ BRGs; Crispy Lobster Tail; Sweet Corn Pudding.

STK - NYC - Meatpacking Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I are out in Manhattan every Saturday night. Usually Mastros is our go to spot . I wanted him to try STK so I made the Rez for 10 pm on a Saturday . I didn’t get seated until 11:30. It’s a complete joke and waste of time . Money can be spent elsewhere where the food is better and the service is impeccable . You would think this place was held at a Michelin standard . Waste waste waste . Don’t bother especially if your a New Yorker
This place wasn’t the same as it used to be. The steak was good however they gave us soggy warm salad and the shrimp cocktail and oysters were very fishy. The wine was good and service was good too aside from them giving us dirty plates.
I wouldn’t come here for a good dinner, this spot is more for a good time hanging with friends not expecting the top knotch service and food.
Worst experience I have ever had at STK. While the food was good, the service was so terrible that it completely overshadowed. We waited nearly 30 minutes for a bottle of wine, the waiter was incredibly rude and refused to let us place the order in the manner which we wanted. We were rushed out, but not before we were slapped with the bill. As loyal customers, this was incredibly disappointing. We will think twice before going to the Downtown location again.
We just love STK! Meatpacking & Miami are our favs. Venue is a party ! Best way to dine with amazing food! Jalapeño Grits are top on our list...as well as the mashed potatoes! You won’t find better anywhere!!! Steaks are top notch . Shrimp Cocktail is wonderful! Hamachi delish !
Wait service is superb. Energy is contagious. Everyone is happy.
Indulge with their dessert specials. You will be happy you did!
Food was amazing. However, the service wasn’t so great. They were out of 2 different bottles of wine and at the end of the meal after we got food to go the restaurant was out of to-go bags for the food so we had to carry the flimsy cardboard box filled with food home.
Apps came out on time, however the entrees took an additional 45 minutes. After 40 minutes one of the staff pops by to apologize on behalf of the chef, and offers us complimentary wine despite no one in our party of 5 was drinking wine and 2 of the 5 did not even have an alcoholic beverage.
My reservation was initially for 10:15, i arrived at 9:50, i did not get seated until 10:30. I had to stand by the bar until my table was ready. Once seated, the server never came to greet us or even pour us water until 11 PM. The food didn’t take too long, but i wasn’t impressed. It also took the server a very, very long time to bring the check. I probably won’t be coming back.
The food, service, and ambiance here is phenomenal, the steaks are cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly. The Mac and cheese , mash potatoes and sweet corn pudding are AMAZING. I came here on a Friday night with my fiance and it was packed with a fresh young good looking crowd, the DJ was also amazing played alot of hip-hop old and new, really set the tone for a good night. Our server Dylan was great , he was prompt knew the menu well and Checked on us several times.
We were greeted at the door and were early so we went to the bar for a drink. My fiance and I went in for our anniversary and were excited to try since we had drinks at the Chicago location but no time to eat there. Having lived in Chicago and been to RPM multiple times, I was excited to final try out STK for the food.
The bartender was great and drinks were delicious at the NYC location. Once our table was ready, we were quickly sat at a table for two. We ordered a bottle of wine and the wedge salad (nothing special) to start. The garlic bread provided was awesome too. Our waiter was less than par and seemed to forget that we were there. We ordered the tomahawk steak to share, mushrooms, and macaroni and cheese. All was absolutely amazing. We often order a large steak to share and this was one of the best we have had. We were disappointed in the service overall- we were hoping to try out the lounge upstairs but waited for nearly an hour to just get our check. Since we had a reservation for a speakeasy after dinner we were not able to go upstairs. I'm not sure that he even came to check on our table and we ended up pouring our own wine the entire dinner. That's a pet peeve of mine. Had we seen him throughout the meal we most likely would have ordered another bottle as well as dessert. But by the time he returned we really had no time left to enjoy.
I know we will definitely not return to this particular location, however, I am open to giving other locations a try. I had listed in our reservation that we were celebrating an engagement/anniversary, however, nothing was said. We by no means were expecting anything on the house but a simple thank you for celebrating with us goes a long way in my opinion.
We found this place on Open Table when we were in the neighborhood. It was outstanding! The atmosphere was intimate (live the lighting). The food was fantastic (I had the filet and the lobster Mac and cheese). I would recommend to anyone. It’s a great special occasion spot, as it’s a little pricey.
I always love STK but this time our waiter was not on point. We sat and waited about 15 mins for him to come to our table to take our drink order. We figure we waited so long we may as well order everything. We ordered a dozen oysters, and he (waiter) asked if we wanted the platter we both said no, he brought it anyway. Annoying! Anyway, he didn’t come back until afterwards and by then we had already digged into the platter, so it was too late to return. We just felt like he wasn’t that great. My bf has never been to STK and I’ve been many many xs. He thought the food was ok and drink prices were extremely highly. FYI we go to keens, american cut, quality meats, and other steak places and don’t have an issue with service. However, we listened to the music, ate our meals, and left and went some place and had a good time.
I had read some of the negative reviews and still decided to give this place a chance. My reservation was for 9:30pm and we were told the table wasn’t ready at that time. Long story short, after numerous times asking about the status of a table, we were seated at 10:30pm. I’m all about the scene, having been to Vegas and experiencing an energetic vibes in the hottest nightclubs. This place was overboard with the music. It was loud, it was all Rap/Spanish with the DJ scribbling the record like it was 1993. Horrible. Way too loud. We literally left with a headache and zero meaningful conversation between the two of us. My wife and I paid $39 each for the 6oz. filet. I figured hey, STK, a steakhouse. I took one bite and it brought me back to when I was saving money buying steaks on sale at stop and shop. Literally the worst steak I have ever eaten at a restaurant. To top it off we paid $39 for it which would have been fine if it was one of the best steaks of my life....but it wasn’t. What a joke. The waiter did not come over one time after he took our orders. My empty beer sat for the entire dinner (he’s lucky I even tipped). This place is filled with wannabe’s and posers that want to feel exclusive by paying for overpriced food and poor service. Sure STK has the brand appeal with some celebs stopping in here and there as well as numerous locations around the world. Take my advice and avoid this place UNLESS you stop in for a drink at the bar. Don’t eat here. Grab a drink at the bar listen to the loud music and get out and go somewhere worth spending the money. Trust me, this place is the worst. Also this is the first negative review I have ever written and I’ve been a member for years with hundreds of reservations.
The ambience was nice and the music was great but we waited over an hour before our food came out. When our food came out it was luke warm and my guest were really growing impatient. The Mananger did apologize and offered us complimentary desert which was nice on their end. Other than that the food was good. Would still recommend.
