Celebrating my birthday had a great time!!
Although the food was delicious, the service was appallingly bad.
wish we saw Gordon Ramsey during our visit last Saturday evening
Waiter was amazing amazing waiter. Gave us the run down and made us feel special. Filet mignon was cooked great, the bone in filet 14 oz was medium as we asked but wow was that super super chewy my boyfriend ate more than I ate mine. His went to waste. Such a shame.
A large group of people at the table next to where we were seated were OBVIOUSLY drunk and quite raucous. Not the fault of the establishment but they also didn't move us. We had to request to be moved. The food was okay - not bad just not worth the prices charged. I don't mind paying $16 for a side of fries IF they are fantastic and they better be at that price. I ordered a common mixed drink and was told that "oh, we don't have that". Wow...ooookay. Given the totality of circumstances I was not at all satisfied with my choice of dining. The taste of food is subjective so others might love it. But given the entire evening, I can't in good conscious give them anything but a rating that encourages improvement.
Waited over an hour just to be seated- despite having a reservation & despite being told “15-20 minutes” by the host. Reservation was for 9:30, we weren’t seated till 10:50. We opted to get some drinks by the bar while we waited & even that was mission impossible, so we got 1 drink each and made our way away from the havoc. Food was incredibly subpar that night, and the service was no better. Workers didn’t seem to care that MANY customers were upset and uncomfortable with a lot that night. We don’t plan on returning.
Drinks can be hit or miss . Chaotic bar. Excellent food, especially the steak.
Wonderful time. Had a 12 person birthday party here. Atmosphere was great, service and food were on point.
Great food and service
Overall was excellent!! Tables were tight and we sat very close to other people but the food and service made up for the close quarters.... Will 100% return next time in the City
AMAZING food, the sweet corn pudding was like nothing I've ever had before, and the mac&cheese is great. The cloud dessert is spectacular!
Very rude staff- not accommodating at all! Will not be returning.
In and out with in less than 2hrs. Meal was great!
What I liked: food, waitress service and decor
What I didn’t like: they didn’t sit us until the very last person in my party arrived despite the fact that it was early and the restaurant was completely empty; the truffle fries tasted like they were fried in burnt oil; and the ambiance felt cold and impersonal
My mom wanted to take my boyfriend and me out to a steak dinner for our birthdays, and while we usually go for old school spots like Peter Luger's, on the advice of a friend I suggested STK Meatpacking. When my bf and I arrived, my mom had just received a cocktail at the bar but had not yet closed out, so when the hostess came over to seat us, we needed a minute to settle up, so the hostess returned to the front. Once the tab was closed out, we stood there awkwardly, cocktail in hand, for another 5 minutes while the hostess dealt with two other parties before I finally had to call out across the restaurant to get her attention to seat us, which she did. The reason I'm explaining this in such detail is because for a restaurant where the bill for a small meal comes out to over $500, the staff should be tripping over themselves to manage guests as efficiently and hospitably as possible, such as taking the full, hard to carry cocktail from our hands so we don't have to carry it up the stairs to our table. The food was utterly ordinary, which made the price point — $26 for apps, $16 (!!) for sides that cost 1/3 that amount for double thee portion at many fine restaurants — all the more painful. I will say that they comped a dessert, though that dessert was literally a hard Klondike bar with some chocolate drizzled on it.
tl;dr: Go to Peter Luger's.

Good dinner food was great, sommelier was greatly appreciated, service was rocky at first but a strong finish I can appreciate that. Would come back for sure...
