My date first experience here and my second visit.
It seemed almost depressing. The entrance was not welcoming which is why we decided to eat inside. food was very expensive, which expect but not getting much for it. staff was pleasant but it was obvious that they did not have enough. not even an ice cube in the water. Steak was good but overall, it was lacking something!
Overall experience was great but definitely pricey. Not sure how they can make those price points work in a heavily competitive environment with comparable food and service all around them.
First of all, I’m a long time fan of STK. I recall when the restaurant opened, including early meals there with my wife and best friends. I also experienced the worst of the place, once being racially discriminated against blatantly by security. Even still, I remained a customer and a fan. It was the first restaurant my wife and I went to after not going out for over a year during the COVID-19 quarantine. So imagine my surprise and disappointment at this latest experience. We made reservations, and arrived to find the restaurant decently full. Our waiter was attentive, and directed us to the online menu. We went on and immediately noticed that the prices were hiked up considerably. I believe the baby gem Caesar salad was $20! Even still we weren’t bothered, as we knew what to expect in terms of what we get for that money. So my wife and I opted for the Date Night menu (an app, two entrees, two sides, and a dessert for $69/person), and added a salad, a glass of wine, and a drink. We waited over 20 mins to get my wife’s drink, only to have her watermelon cocktail be tainted with an obviously old, very off-tasting slice of watermelon. She sent the drink back and got another that was sufficient, and our app (calamari) and salad came quickly. We noticed right away the change in the Blue Iceberg salad. It was tiny! We typically would order a salad and split it between us, to enjoy with our steaks. This was so small we couldn’t. I was shocked that this was the $19 salad. The entrees arrived, and while I lucked up with a larger steak than what I should have received (a mistake the chef made), in the end I still felt as though we grossly overpaid for our meal, for the first time ever. The value simply wasn’t there. My steak was tasty and my wife’s fish was good, but we had nothing that justified the $270 bill we paid. It was as though we paid more than we typically do there, but got so much less. I don’t mind the money if I feel like that he value was there, and it wasn’t.
The food was good but, definitely overpriced!
Service was great and I really enjoyed the music.
Unfortunately as we were eating our food, the restaurant was flooding from a bad rain storm that was happening while we were dining in the restaurant. so everyone had to get up and rush out my $700 shoes got soaked from the floor it was really crazyEveryone’s jammed inside the hallway waiting on their cars from valet it was crazy really crazy
Overall the diner was good it was the vibe, we expected for it to be a little quiet and more classy for it to be a steak house, it seemed as if this was a hooters restaurant
We was sat on the end where it was high volume traffic… couldn’t have a personal conversation, the waitress couldn’t understand me (maybe it was the mask) we still tipped $32 but the food was ok my guy said the salmon could’ve had more seasoning. I thought it was classy but it looks regular, the dress code is relaxed.. rather eat for lunch than a date night dinner.
Food and place staff service was great and beautiful I would recommend this restaurant
First we running late and the restaurant was really nice about it when we called to let them know. (It was only 15 minutes)
Our server Lala was really good. She checked on us and explained the menu thoroughly. The food is pricey but I felt it was worth. We really enjoyed the meal. Highly recommend the Tomahawk. It was enough for me and one other person to split.
The only negative feedback I have was the valet. We dropped off our car with no issue or wait, however when we left around 11pm there was a long wait to get our vehicles. There were at least 4-5 other customer groups waiting with us. I took valet 20-25 minutes to get our car. They could have definitely used more help or a better system. Overall we really enjoyed the dining experience and will be back.
One last thing is that we heard about a strict dress code to dine. Literally everyone dining except us was in jeans and gym shoes so maybe this is just a rumor.
Our food was terrible for the first time. This was unacceptable. We ordered 2 surf and turf. One 10oz steak. Everyone had to take there steak home and try to eat it later. I won’t be back anytime soon.
My boyfriend proposed to me it was so surprising
The prices have become outrageous. Music is super fun.
Service was fast. Food came out hot & was delicious. Friendly staff!
We had a great time. The food was great. It was great ambience. The music was not too loud. Overall, it was great dining.
everything was nice even the waiter they were very busy cause it was Father's day but they very tentative and fast and very good I will definitely tell a friend and refer anyone to this restaurant
Very good place for a night out. Thank you for a great night out
We were looking for a place to have great cocktails at and discovered STK. the bar service was amazing and food was awesome .
Food is way over priced. Food is good, but not worth what we paid. We expected more from our visit
Our server LaLa (Laura) is amazing. She is attentive and so polite. One thing I would ask is that some name brand steak sauce be incorporated and possibly options for kids especially on special events.
Great service and good food! Will definitely recommend and will definitely be returning.
I was really surprised that I had to wait over an hour to receive my meal during Sunday brunch, Only to notice that guest who arrived after us and order from the regular dinner menu was served in a timely fashion.
Nice ambiance with great food
(Dinners there have been great) - This is only for Brunch Service
Food was good but came out slow, which may be attributed to being overwhelmed that weekend.
However, I do believe the manager on duty should have gone around to check on guests and let them know of the issues + help the staff get things out or take orders.
There was a lot of delay , an our server was great - just over whelmed.
Plus, since they promoted a fathers day meal , they should have accommodated some kids meal for that day. : No Kid friendly Items.
Will go again for Dinner , but not brunch.
Amazing services Annette and her Team were personable on point and our Benedict’s was perfect!! Highly recommended!
Came in to celebrate Father's Day. Lots of teamwork from managers, hosts and bussers to help our server start service. Great to see as the industry in general is struggling with staffing. Server was very nice and tried her best to keep up. Entrees were fantastic. Tomahawk cooked perfectly and those tater tots were amazing.
Went for dinner and was seated quickly. Atmosphere was good and food was great!
We had a very special weekend away and chose STK. My steak was over cooked, medium well when I ordered medium rare. Unfortunately, the server returned after 10 minutes of delivering our food, so my husband was half finished with his meal. They made me a new steak, delivered it, and I waited another 5 minutes for silverware. The meal was very expensive and the service was not on par. No manager came over to apologize, offer a complimentary anything. We were extremely disappointed in the experience.
Got seated..... took 31 minutes JUST TO GET BREAD! was just my wife, daughter and myself.. 2 hours before offered desert!!!! The server took the orders, when food came out I had something missing.....but nobody came to our table to even ask how the food was so that I could mention my missing item!!!! Besides eveything....... the front door asked who was celebrating their BIRTHDAY...... I said "ME" but then our server never even mentioned anything and when the bill FINALLY came....I said " what a birthday dinner" He looked right at me.........COULDNT EVEN WISH ME A HAPPY BIRTHDAY or APOLOGIZE for my missing item.....
WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND!!!!!
From beginning to end we had an enjoyable evening. The food, atmosphere and service were impeccable!
Perfect. Everything I expected and more
We ate at outdoor table—very noisy street and STK music on too loud and when asked to turn it down they couldn’t. Waited a long time for food which was mediocre. Very expensive meal (brunch) and drinks. Was not worth it.
Food was expensive and steak was burnt and dry! Brussels sprouts weren’t cooked all the way! They use same fryer to cook meat and seafood🤦🏽♀️ And won’t even change the grease
We sat outside on a beautiful summer night... can't beat Chicago in the summer.. my filet was cooked and seasoned perfectly!! We also enjoyed complimentary shots.
Service was horrible.
STK steakhouse has very nice decor, but music doesn’t match. Music was loud and felt more like a club. I’m not an expert on wine but $41.00 for a glass of Rose’ seem over priced. The Steak was well worth the $78.00, but $10 for the truffle butter seem over priced. Overall I feel it was a good experience but not great.
Last call at 11pm, and they made us feel like a burden. There should definitely be a notice that says 11pm reservations should get there right at 11pm and no grace period. We were very rushed and felt not welcomed.
