   Once again we had a wonderful dinner at Stirrups Steakhouse in Ocala. Food is always well prepared and is never a disappointment. Our table server Sarah is a priceless employee. We ask for her whenever we go to Stirrups.

   Top Drawer experience! My son and daughter in law were treating me for Mother’s Day and this fantastic dinner will likely leave us with a lot to talk about for a long time. Mr. Killam exclaimed he he hadn’t had a filet this great in over 20 years! Generous portions, steaks that were perfectly prepared made me realize our recent move to Ocala from Richmond, Virginia was a good idea.

   Having dined at Stirrups a countless number of times, one thing comes to mind. CONSISTENCY. Seriously, I mean this is the most positive way. Always excellent service, even when there's a hiccup. They always make it right with the customer in mind. This visit was no exception. While the hiccup was my doing, the staff was right on top of it. Manny our server was excellent as always, as was Peter the sommelier. A special shout out to Juan, the food & beverage manager for being "the guy". Great team work, you can clearly see when you are there. Mary should be pleased with Team Stirrups!

   The hotel and restaurant are quite beautiful, which is why we decided to stop in for breakfast/brunch. We wish we could say we enjoyed the experience, as the elements for a wonderful dining setting were present. The dog oil paintings, crystal chandeliers, and elegant trim were all very nice. Additionally, the hostess and serving staff were pleasant. Unfortunately, the ambiance did not match the quality of the food or the time it took to be served. We waited quite a while for our meals to arrive. Even though the restaurant wasn't very busy, our simple dishes took nearly an hour to be served. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, offering some helpful suggestions. While we expected the food to be more expensive due to the location, its quality did not justify the price. The salad dressing lacked flavor, the fruit was slightly stale, and the side portions were sparse. Given the restaurant's potential, we believe it could definitely improve.

   Absolutely beautiful and the air of elegance is felt immediately. The service couldn’t be better BUT the food is not great. The short ribs were below average, the fried chicken was abundant but honestly it had absolutely no taste neither the Nashville Hot nor the regular, the beef carpaccio and crab cakes are also not good at all. I was disappointed with the food to say the least.

   The menu was interesting but the food wasn’t as great as I expected. The waffle tasted like the chef put in a tablespoon of vanilla instead of a teaspoon. The grits were plain tasting, I expected stone ground with a nice corn flavor at that price. It’s a beautiful room!
