Stir - Raleigh
Our cold bar and kitchen offers fresh oysters from North Carolina and beyond, traditional Mexican and Peruvian ceviche, and classic entrees and specials, all prepared from scratch.
STIR is famous for craft cocktails. We freeze and carve 300-pound blocks of artisanal ice in-house, age certain cocktails in oak barrels for richer flavors, and place others on draft for crispness and carbonation.
The result is a categorically elevated cocktail. Our passion for fine spirits also compels us to find and share rare bottles, many of which are extremely difficult to procure.
We welcome Raleigh to enjoy our unmatched cocktails, fresh seafood from the cold bar, and classic dishes in an atmosphere of genuine hospitality.

Great food & service! Loved the crispy mahi bowl
We made reservations for 3:00 and were seated at 3:10. Peyton M. came by and took our drink order. Our female waitress, whom we do not remember her name, brought out our drinks with Peyton and they let us know that she would be taking care of us while he went on his break. After she brought our drinks we put in an appetizer for fries and ordered a salad and poke bowl for dinner. Our waitress never came back. We finished our drinks and asked someone to let her know we needed her to stop by our table after 40 minutes of no check ins. We also never received any food. After another 15 minutes of her walking by our table and not stopping or sending anyone else we left. We saw her twice in an hour and 15 minute time span. We left and went to Cowfish, where we happened to see our original waiter, Peyton. He of course asked, “How was your dinner?” To which we explained that we never recovered anything more than the two drinks we got with him. He felt terrible and offered for us to come back and sit in his section whenever we decided to come to stir again and apologized multiple times for the poor service we received.
We ate at Stir for a friends birthday to celebrate we purchased a bottle of Champagne. The menu says “Vueve Cliquot…WA” so we had to confirm it was available. We were told yes however when the waiter came back it was was not Vueve. But we were told it’s still the same price. Not sure why they are upselling on an off brand champagne, I mean not even popular. If you are going to celebrate and plan on buying a good bottle of champagne this is not the place for you.
Great food! Great service! Will return! Love the mimosas!
Not the usual experience, food was cool not hot, fries were horrible, server was distracted with cleaning not providing service.
Please have the waiters check on customer so us customers can be satisfied
The food was horrible. The waitress was rude and when we asked a question she lied. The drinks were watered down and only half full and filled with ice. The food was cold and caused me a stomachache
Phenomenal range of good. Highly recommend the cerviche. Burger with Fred green tomato outstanding. Our server “Five” had a great command of the menu and provided outstanding service.
Drinks from the bar tender JD were top notch
Met a friend for lunch. They have a great outdoor patio. Enjoyed a delicious salad.
The charbroiled oysters are a must order! Affordable wine selections and delicious food. We will return.
Great lunch spot for the real housewives of Raleigh!
Great service and fun environment. We went for drinks and oysters and really enjoyed our meal.
Our server was outstanding! You could tell she loves working there and was very attentive.
It was good. Great cocktails.
Fantastic restaurant one of our favorites. Service and food is amazing.
Food was really good except for the oysters. At $2 an oyster, I expected bigger ones. Were told that to get bigger ones, we had to order the $3 specialty oysters.
Our food had to be sent back twice. We were told they had new cooks which is why aren’t order was wrong twice on top of that the food wasn’t that good.
Always a great atmosphere!
Five was awesome! Delicious oysters!
Great time as always
Always love going to stir!! Went out with a friend to catch up, but it's a great spot for a date or a group hangout as well. I made a reservation so my experience was seemless, but I would highly suggest making one as there are usually long wait times since it is a very loved in Raleigh. Our server seemed super busy so wasn't super chatty, but we were well taken care of and had everything we needed. 100% will be back!
Drinks were interesting and great flavor. But inconsistently made. Salads are uninspired. Shrimp & grits way way too salty.
What a great experience!! The food was delicious and our server was awesome!! What a wonderful place for Brunch!! They serve lunch and dinner as well. I’ll be going back soon!!👏❤️
Always a great experience. Food was hot and yummy. Drinks.....ohhhh so tasty! Can't wait to go back.
I went to Stir for brunch! It was my first time visiting. The mimosas were delicious. We both had chicken and waffles. Everything was delicious!
Average overall dining experience for me personally. You can tell it's definitely a place to be in the North Hills dining scene just wasn't my thing. Cliff's Notes version (the good and the bad) ...very loud but energetic atmosphere, decent food but expensive for what you get and fairly-priced, average cocktails. If you're looking for someplace to enjoy a beautiful weekend afternoon with friends and you're not starving and you dig the loud, energetic ambiance, give it a try and judge for yourself.
I liked the indoor/outdoor experience with the windows and doors open to the outside allowing a breeze to flow through from time to time. Daisy, our server, was great, friendly, eager to please, sometimes a little slow in returning to check on us. The restaurant structure was of hard, smooth surfaces reflecting the busy engaged crowd raising the noise to an uncomfortable level. We were glad to have a table outside. The martinis and our shrimp and grits dinners were excellent and we enjoyed them. Seems to be a great place for young people who can tolerate the cacophony!
