Constellations are made of connections.
So are we.
You will definitely need to eat when you are at the museum this is a good place. We were there for brunch so it was really noisy but 90 min later there are just a few people. The waitress was great and made us have some good laughs.
The reviews that say it is loud are true, but I think maybe some background music would help. We spoke in our normal indoor voices and heard each other just fine even though there was definite din around us. Totally not a big problem. The food was excellent. Biscuits amazing. I do think they should serve the grilled cheese bacon egg sandwich on a biscuit and not on toast! Service was also excellent. Will return often.
We had a great Sunday brunch. Food was excellent and service was wonderful! We'll come back the next time we are in Philly!
Outstanding service, great menu selection and food served piping hot.
A bit noisy due to the wood decor, but a fantastic break for a day or evening of musing in the museum.
I recommend it!
I ordered the Wild Sea Bass and it was truly excellent!
What a treat this was! The crab cake Benedict’s we’re out of this world!
Loved it. Lady who cleared our table etc was so lovely. Servers was great. Everyone seemed happy we were there.
The food was acceptable -- my friends both had the burger which they said was fine; I had the pork which was decent. Service was fine. Noise level is TOO HIGH ... very hard to hear even in a booth. Its too expensive for a museum lunch if someone has just paid $20 admission ...
Very nice and clean. Great service and even better food. A very nice place to sit, eat and rest when visiting the museum.
Excellent food in Stir ......
Staff seemed somewhat tense, perhaps due to the recent negative review of the restaurant. One entree was so tough, it had to be returned. This space is smaller and less elegant than the former restaurant. If this is the museum’s final effort at a more upscale dining option, I suggest the museum revisit its space and quality options. The Phila Museum of Art deserves a restaurant better in all aspects than the current Stir.
Exceeded our expectations in every way! Very enjoyable, great food and drink. A perfect compliment to a fantastic museum.
Treated my parents to a special day at the museum.
much too loud to be enjoyable....the previous location ( in the building) was much nicer!
Lovely waitress and service in general. Great atmosphere. Portions were right size for lunch. Perfect all around.
Noisy! Poor service. Strange table settings. Liked the others so much better. Why no windows? Bad!
I had the chicken and waffles it is usually a no go for me but... I’m so glad I did! It was just as I remember it as a child. The chicken was moist and the waffle like a cloud. Delish!!
We had brunch at Stir. Everything was absolutely magnificent. The service was stellar and the food was amazing.
Birthday Sunday brunch with my daughter...so special and fun. This would be a great date place too. The lime coconut tart with poached pineapple is amazing. The bacon Bloody Mary is a must.
The menu was great. One of the people was a vegan and could find many options. Our waitress was WONDERFUL. I wish I knew her name.
This is the only restaurant in the Phila. Museum of Art. No competition.
Beautiful room, fantastic waitress, lovely food! What a nice opportunity to eat in such a great restaurant in such an outstanding museum. The museum has done a great job with their restaurant and we enjoyed our lunch very much. The room is very comfortable and attractive, the waitress was excellent and the salad spectacular. The leather seats were so comfortable we didn't want to leave. Crabcakes were good and the tart dessert better than most desserts elsewhere. Got 10% off for being a museum member so how could anyone not be happy?
Thanks Stir and Phila Museum of Art :)
Chef Tropea and his team have created an incredible Philadelphia dining experience. We are regular diners at many CC fine establishments and we found the food to be delicious, clever without over-engineering and a delight to the eye.
There were 9 of us and no one liked their food.
Service was slow
My daughter and I enjoyed a nice lunch at Stir. The food and service were excellent.
The overall experience was great. Our waiter was slow approaching out table and remained a bit challenged timing-wise thru the meal tho he was absolutely gracious and solicitous. The food was pretty much perfect! The space got a little noisy as it filled up. My companion commented several times how good it was!
The food was excellent. We had salads and added chicken to them. The staff was very helpful and frequently checked with us. You definitely need a reservation.
love the soup!
I loved Stir, really added to our Valentine's Day date at the museum. The service was great, really friendly and accommodating. We loved the food, we had the burger and the Kale salad with salmon. The free cookies they give you when you leave were lovely. We will return.
It’s an easy lunch if you are at the museum—-it’s hard to leave that island fortress for a meal. Food was tasty, reasonable size portions, not amazing but good. Server was accommodating and the food came in a timely manner. We were not impressed by the decor and it was rather noisy but it served our purposes.
The best kale salad ever!
Sweet potato gnocchi was light and delicious. My husband had the duck breast which he said was excellent. Would definitely go back and recommend to friends.
Very good food and service. My only suggestion would be for them to serve better rolls.
Found myself screaming to talk. Service was slow, I appreciate not being rushed but we waited beyond what I would have expected.
The space is entirely too noisy. Booths provide poor conversation levels. The menu is limited. I love the PMA so I hope stir can be improved.
The new space designed by Gehry is small, crowded, and noisy. The tables are so close together one can't help but hear everything of the next table's conversation, and the table next to them as well. The service was spotty at best, quick to pour the water then disappear. Then when we did order (three courses), everything was brought at the same time--everything even if the table was crowded and individual plates didn't quite match each other. The one bright spot was the crab cakes that were wonderful. We will probably go again just because we are members of the museum but it wasn't that good.
Fresh food, excellent service why would you not eat here?
My second time here, both times were for lunch. Both times were wonderful. The staff was personable and the lunch was delicious.
The perfect place to have lunch whike visiting the Philadelphia Museum of Art. My duck was perfectly cooked as was the venison my friend had. Designed by Frank Gehry, who is one of the best architects in the world, it is so nice.
I was so disappointed withthe appearance of the restaurant-reminded me of my neighborhood deli including the noise level-the prior restaurant was a much more pleasant space in which to dine. While our server was terrific and my burger very good, the ambience was a real turnoff and I am not sure I will go back there.
