great food. typically when we go to Stir Crazy the place is packed, but this time it was almost empty. Other than slow service, we had a great time.
Sister Casey was a pleasant surprise! It is very conveniently located in Northbrook Court mall, which is a great place to go to if you’re doing some shopping or if you want to take in a movie at the AMC theater that is also in the mall. Stir crazy has daily specials and My husband and I went on a Tuesday night, and ordered the pad Thai for under $10. It was huge, delicious, and mouthwatering! We can’t wait to go next Tuesday to have it again!
This place is fantastic: excellent food, very responsive and friendly service, and reasonable prices. The stir fry bar is terrific.
I had a good experience at Stir Crazy Fresh Asian Grill in Northbrook Court. It was a good place to go before a movie and the food options were OK. The appetizers were a bit overdone, but well priced. The entrees were good with large portion sizes. The service was quite excellent!
Good service and good food
Service was lacking. I asked multiple times to get water, serving silverware etc.. it was a very quiet night, it should have been easy to give attention to guests. I also think the servers need some training on how to be a good server. I used to enjoy this restaurant but this time was a disaster.
We always enjoy Stir Crazy, but noticed some changes. Prices are higher and portions smaller. The restaurant was understaffed the night we were there. Not good signs.
My husband and I ordered salad. The salad itself was very good. The salmon on my salad was not. Neither was the chicken on my husband’s salad.
We have gone often, but the last few visits have been going downhill. Last night was the worst experience we have had there. My wife's meal was never prepared properly as she had asked. The sushi in now mostly rice with miniscule fish inside. My market place dinner was fine, except some very spicy ingredients somehow got into my bowl. My daughter's meal was great.
I have had several issues with the bill being wrong, so I have to check carefully. Once, I even received someone else bill by mistake.
Life is too short and there are many restaurants looking for our business to go back to Stir Crazy. Too bad since we had liked it and it is convenient. Oh Well!
There was barely anyone in there and the service was terrible. I thought she was never even coming to take our order. Someone was seated after us and they already had their drinks and their order taken and no one had even come to our table. I would understand if it was busy but really customer service should have been excellent considering how people were in there. There were quite a few wait staff there talking but not paying attention to customers.
Went there because of a Groupon. Disappopinting. Small portions. Pedestrian storefront type flavors.
Daily special wasn’t explained to us resulting in order change and food being returned. Grill area counter was sticky and unclean. Veggies were not filled. The manager was rude by nature. Zero people skills. None of the employees seemed to be happy. Collectively, leaving us with a very bad experience. This restaurant is NOTHING like the Oakbrook location that is unfortunately no longer open. We drove almost an hour to this Northbrook location for the Oakbrook experience but it was like a completely different restaurant and atmosphere. We will not be spending our money at Northbrook Stir Crazy ever again.
Very good restaurant in a mall with not a lot of great options. I have enjoyed the meals I've had there very much, especially the Thai BBQ tacos.
The food was very good actually. However, there was no host or hostess to seat us - for close to 10 minutes - and the waiter was inattentive (and got peppers In our order despite requesting none, twice) even though the restaurant wasn’t very crowded.. a disappointment regarding service
The menu has been evolving and everything we ordered was quite delicious- our sweet spicy chicken needed the scallion garnish - hope it was an oversight - we enjoyed it anyway.
First: Made reservations for 730pm, checked in at 725pm and she didn't have my name on the list. Told her I made reservations, she said ok and wrote down my name. I was willing to show the confirmation, she could care less. Got seated at 740pm but walk ins that got there after me were getting seated, asked her how much longer until we get seated and she said 10 minutes. Told her I should have just walked in vice made reservations if I have to wait another 10 minutes, she sat us right then.
Second: Table was sticky, menu was greasy, silverware and napkins on the floor.
Third: Ordered sweet and spicy chicken, the portion was extremely small, the fried rice has no flavor and the rice was over cooked, the chicken was dry and the sauce tasted burnt. Also had Stir fry which is what they're known for. I proceeded to the veggie bar with the bowl the waiter gave me and all the veggies were scattered, as if someone just tossed veggies everywhere. The bowls where the sauces were located seemed to have been mixed with each other, there was sauces everywhere on the veggie bar including the handles to grab the sauce.
Four: Saw our waiter when he took our drink and food order and finally when I flagged him down asking for our check. I counted 15 people working there, seemed like they had more cooks than waiters. The people delivering food and refilling drinks seemed more occupied than the waiters themselves. As we were leaving almost every single empty table was dirty. Once we got up someone finally asked if we wanted some more water.
Five: I should have just taken what the previous reviews said and just not given this place a chance. To make matters worse both of our dishes plus two lemonades came up to $44.94! That's absolutely ridiculous for the food quality and service.
Food was awful. It was cold and extremely salty. The manger comped mine and gave us a nice dessert. We would never go back again! Please add my points. It’s been several hours and my points haven’t been added. Thanks
We visited Stir Crazy last Saturday night. It was the first time we've been to the Northbrook location. We usually visit the Oak Brook location, but it recently closed. Overall, I was not that impressed. We arrived at 5:30, and sat there 20 minutes before a server came to our table. At that time, the restaurant was not that busy. While we were waiting, we saw a couple come and leave without ordering, probably because they were also being ignored. Once a waitress came to our table and took our drink order, she was gone a long time before returning with our drinks and taking our food order. We all ordered the stir fry, which tasted fine. However, during the meal, I ordered a second beer, and the waitress delivered the wrong beer. We never had that experience in Oak Brook. I'm not sure if this was a fluke or the chain is going downhill (unsure why Oak Brook was closed). I doubt we will return - there are plenty of other restaurants out there.
The food was tasty, and the waitstaff was very efficient,
Turn about dance
always exciting dinner option, and the manager there is terrific!
We eat Chinese food often, usually at two were three of our favorite restaurants. We had the same dishes at stir crazy, and they were unlike anything we were used to - the taste was different and an appetizing. Furthermore, the portions were small and grossly overpriced. The service was poor; when we complained about one of the dishes, the server came over and snatched it away without an explanation or the courtesy to come back and ask how he could be of further help until we called out to him while he was waiting on a nearby table. We will not be back.
The food was delicious and the presentation was playing to the eye.
Went with my grandchildren. This is one of their favorite restaurants. My granddaughter is allergic to peanuts and they were very helpful and put the sauce on from the back so there was no cross contamination.
Very disappointed. They have a lunch special 5 days a week & because it was MLK holiday, they didn't offer it. Crazy to change the rules because it's a holiday.
This was our first visit, and we enjoyed it a lot. Food was of excellent quality, generous portions, and reasonably priced. Our server, Courtney R., was exemplary.
Delicious fresh food made to order. The restaurant is very clean & we always get great service. This restaurant is one of my favorites. It’s a bonus having such a nice place to eat lunch or dinner close to home!
The food was relatively tasteless. We ordered a fried rice dish and Pad Thai. Neither had any flavor. It came out fast and the portion sizes were decent. Prices were high for what we got compared to a family owned Asian restaurant. We won't be back. There are certainly better options around for Asian cuisine.
I made a reservation and showed up in the restaurant was closed !! It was New Year’s Eve and we had trouble finding another restaurant thanks a lot !
great as always. had many bday parties here. many food options
Service and food was off
I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant because the food was not fresh. It seemed as if it had freezer burn. Took a while for the food to come out too.
I thought for what you got the prices were very high. You could only go up once so you had to make sure that you loaded up on all the vegetables. You were charged extra for the proteins so if you wanted two protiens, you were charge extra for each on top of the per person cost. I tried it once but will not be going back.
We had a great time and enjoyed our meal. I heartily recommend Stir Crazy
We did the "make your own bowl" Food was fine...our service was bab...We had Manny....right away he wasn't happy we didn't order drinks or appetisers. Only came by after we were done and I asked to wrap up my leftovers...so he did..he brought back the container with a plastic bag rolled around it...we left, got to the car and noticed by coat and pants were dripping in the leftover sauce...the bottom of the fold over bag was soaked...really a bad taste to this Stir Crazy and worse with a server that was only interested in turning our table over.
Food was not bad, but terrible service. Waiter had no idea what he was doing, had no knowledge about food or cocktails. Full table of empty dishes were sitting after we dined, we had to ask to clean it.
Haven't been to Stir Crazy for awhile. It used to be a "go to" place. Went Friday night. It was a disappointment. The portion sizes have been reduced and the presentation was sloppy. It looked like the rice was tossed onto the plate indiscriminately where in the past it was neatly presented. The do it yourself bar was unappealing. Food everywhere on the counters. The place apparently has not been updated in years. I could not recommend.
I enjoyed an appetizer and their fried rice. I personally think they have the best ahi tuna poke. I was pleasantly surprised by the generous amount of alcohol in the mai tais.
It was great
I have not been to stir crazy in a couple years and was excited to dine there with friends. I found my food to be unflavorful and undercooked. The wait staff was rushed and unfriendly. I will not be back.
