STIR is the perfect restaurant to sip a craft cocktail over a dozen oysters, enjoy a night out, or meet for lunch. Located in the historic Chattanooga Choo Choo complex, the restaurant is an open-air concept with a large, heated outdoor patio. We are open for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch.

Great food starts with fresh, local ingredients. Our kitchen prepares everything from scratch, and our signature raw bar is stocked with fresh oysters and seasonal seafood.

STIR is famous for craft cocktails. We freeze and carve 300-pound blocks of artisanal ice in-house, age certain cocktails in oak barrels for richer flavors, and place others on draft for crispness and carbonation. The result: categorically elevated cocktails. Our passion for fine spirits also compels us to find and share rare bottles, many of which are extremely difficult to procure.

    We were seated at our reservation time, our server was attentive, good menu selection and food was very good. Only suggestions; offer a glass when someone orders a beer, with the vegan bowl it should automatically come with soy sauce and chop sticks. But our server was attentive and quickly delivered all to the table when asked.

    First, sadly parkmobile runs the closest parking and they are a nightmare to deal with in every lot I’ve ever had the displeasure of parking in. If you have a chance to run from parkmobile, do it. Was an off night, server told me they had a very busy weekend and were out of a lot of things (including silverware that he was not happy to roll himself). Tuna bites had a nice tangy taste on the rice but the tuna had a weird consistency, like it was pureed. The chicken lettuce wraps were tasty, butter lettuce was very delicate to use as a wrap. Mahi bowl, blackened not fried, had a sweet and slightly spicy sauce on it. Fish had been cut into small pieces as it was intended to be fried. Blackened, I would prefer it not cut up. The tuna poke bowl was pretty basic, could get at any competent poke spot. I’d give them another shot and try a few different items.

    Had a reservation, got there early and sat for 20 min at the bar. No service. Fine, our table was ready and we were seated outside. Very nice evening and good atmosphere. They were understaffed so first drink took 20 min, appetizers were hit and miss, the cheeseburger wraps were ok but the oysters Rockefeller were just plain awful. I ordered the chicken piccata and my girlfriend ordered the crab cakes. My kids both ordered steaks. Girlfriend’s food was burned and she asked to have them bring out potatoes instead. The waitress was very accommodating, but ultimately no potatoes ever arrived. My meal was the absolute worst I’ve ever had. Bland, and the chicken was on a bed of cabbage? I’m like what chicken piccata recipe are they using??? Our meal came to $250 between the 4 of us and our drinks. Honestly I would have enjoyed Taco Bell better from a food perspective. The cocktails were fine but boy the food was not. I did tell the waitress and she apologized saying they were under staffed. She did fine given how many tables she had but the restaurant has some blame here. I made a reservation so if they were too busy then you tell people you just can’t serve them unless they have a reservation because of staffing issues. Instead likely the whole restaurant, kitchen, staff and customers all had to suffer. This was a complete waste of $250 and if I’m paying that kind of money I expect a decent meal. This was definitely not.

    The restaurant is beautiful, but that was the best part. We dined on June 1 and multiple things on the menu were no longer offered as the monthly menu was switching, but apparently had not switched yet, but it was a guessing game what dishes were available. Appetizer was bland and the main courses were average at best. Overall an uninspired experience.

    First time visitor and after reading all the reviews I knew this was the spot. I had very high expectations and all were exceeded. The food, service, atmosphere, location , and the drinks. We will definitely be back!
