STIR is the perfect restaurant to sip a craft cocktail over a dozen oysters, enjoy a night out, or meet for lunch. Located in the historic Chattanooga Choo Choo complex, the restaurant is an open-air concept with a large, heated outdoor patio. We are open for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch.

Great food starts with fresh, local ingredients. Our kitchen prepares everything from scratch, and our signature raw bar is stocked with fresh oysters and seasonal seafood.

STIR is famous for craft cocktails. We freeze and carve 300-pound blocks of artisanal ice in-house, age certain cocktails in oak barrels for richer flavors, and place others on draft for crispness and carbonation. The result: categorically elevated cocktails. Our passion for fine spirits also compels us to find and share rare bottles, many of which are extremely difficult to procure.

First night ever in Chattanooga, checked out the possible evening dining possibilities, saw this and it felt right. Historic location within a wing of the old train station, providing a pleasant ambiance. Food and service were both very good, and the selection of oysters was quite satisfying. Would not hesitate to book another dining experience there, The next time we are in town.

Alex ordered the crab bisque which he declared very good. We split an appetizer of Spicy Chicken Samosas. They were larger than I expected. They were good but not really exceptional. We both ordered the Crispy Mahi Bowl. Served with sushi rice with tiny bits of carrots, pineapple and edamame. The Mahi reminded me of little chicken nuggets. Very small pieces of fish battered and fried. Again, it was good. We both ate it up. But I would have preferred less batter and more fish to actually taste and enjoy. The service was perfectly adequate. Our server was young and pert with bright red lipstick and big cherry drop earrings. She neither hovered nor ignored. We were there for an early dinner and were surprised at how busy it was. It was a pleasant dinner but nothing exceptional. I felt it was just a bit over priced.

Everything about our experience was excellent! Our waiter Gabriel was outstanding. We sat outside in a great spot. The dish my wife ordered came with a beautiful artistic treatment on the plate! The presentation was awesome. Overall exceptional evening.

We were in Chattanooga for a few days for our anniversary and saw an article featuring this restaurant and chef. It did not disappoint. Fried green tomatoes with homemade pimento cheese was outstanding as well as the fried oysters and crab soup. And chicken dish. It’s not a place for a quiet intimate dinner, being it’s in a converted train station complex- very high exposed ceilings. But food and service was great.

We had a perfect evening at Stir. Our server, Lola, was outstanding. She made knowledge recommendations and answered our questions. She was attentive without hovering. The food was exquisite! I can’t say enough about our entire experience. Definitely recommend!!

Great service and great food, felt welcomed and enjoyed the entire experience. It was my friend's birthday and extra steps were taken to ensure that she felt celebrated - the young man who waited on us was amazing (sorry I cannot recall his name) but he maintained a positive and energetic interaction throughout - even when we had to leave unexpectedly.

Had cocktails - nice and unique. Oysters on the half shell assortment. Nice mix with different flavor profiles. Entrees - scallops - shrimp and grits. Both were reasonably priced and prepared well though shrimp and grits were a bit over salted. Most impressive was how well they handled a minor issue - kitchen delivered the appetizers and entrees simultaneously. I noted this to waiter who immediately pulled the entrees and had the kitchen keep them warm while we enjoyed the oysters. The floor manager came by within minutes to apologize and assure us the entree’s quality would be maintained. He and the wait staff were absolutely great.

The service was very good, but we expected the food and drink to be much better. We each ordered a specialty cocktail (4) and there's not one that we would order again. The Chicken Samosas were just o.k. The Fried Green Tomatoes were better, but I still wouldn't order them again. The Shrimp and Grits was more like Shrimp Soup. The Chicken Piccata was pretty good, but a little over loaded with butter. Next time in Chattanooga, we'll be trying somewhere else.

Our food was excellent. I had the shrimp and scallops with white Mac n Cheese with asparagus. It was perfection! And my husband had the filet with a veggie and sweet potato. His filet was cooked perfectly! The table seatings are a little strange and the round table was a little uncomfortable but the vibe was good. Our server Cody was very attentive. And we ordered the green tea cheese cake and honestly it tasted ok but wasn't light and fluffy like described by our waiter lol. Cody asked how the cheesecake was and we told him and he took this off our bill. We were pleasantly surprised. This was our our 1st visit and we will be back!

Saturday Brunch which was a surprise. Wasn’t expecting brunch on a Saturday. Limited menu but got the oysters so really not an issue. Food was great. Mimosas were great. Nice gathering of friends. A little noisy. Must make reservations for anytime on the weekend!!

One of the few restaurants in our area, whose food seems to get better every time we go! The fried green tomato appetizer is amazing! The waitress recommended the Crispy Mahi bowl and she was right on.....fantastic! Cocktails are also well crafted! Great spot!

If you're a foodie looking for a meal that's been exquisitely prepared, you can skip this place. The oysters on the half shell were delicious, but everything else was just so-so. I liken it to a TGI Fridays in a much nicer, hipper environment. On top of it, the service was exceedingly slow and, when I asked my server for a drink with mezcal, he didn't bother telling me it was $19 (outrageous for a margarita). Bottom line: this would be a nice place to sit on the patio and enjoy drinks. But there's zero authentic about the food. I'd look elsewhere.
