STIR is the perfect restaurant to enjoy a night out, host clients, or sip a craft cocktail over a dozen oysters. Located in South End, the restaurant is an open-air concept with a large, heated outdoor patio. We are open for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch.

Our cold bar and kitchen offers fresh oysters from North Carolina and beyond, traditional Mexican and Peruvian ceviche, and classic entrees and specials, all prepared from scratch.

STIR is famous for craft cocktails. We freeze and carve 300-pound blocks of artisanal ice in-house, age certain cocktails in oak barrels for richer flavors, and place others on draft for crispness and carbonation. The result: categorically elevated cocktails. Our passion for fine spirits also compels us to find and share rare bottles, many of which are extremely difficult to procure.

We welcome Charlotte to enjoy our unmatched cocktails, fresh seafood, and classic dishes in an atmosphere of genuine hospitality.

If your looking for a very loud dining experience in hard as rock booth seats, this is your place. We booked this place because of the reviews. Not sure what the attraction is. We ordered pre-dinner cocktails and they didn’t arrive until 28 minutes after being sat. Yes, after 10 minutes we started timing. And they were horrible. I didn’t even finish mine. And in looking over the menu there was nothing on it that would warrant really loud music that didn’t match the vibe of the restaurant, nor could you speak over it, and the uncomfortable seating, we paid our bill and left.

Positive: The food was good & portion sizes were generous making the price worth it. Overall we enjoyed almost everything we ate (the main reason I give my experience 3/5 stars) Cons: 1. For cocktails to be their specialty, they were just average. I got a tequila-type drink (similar to a spicy margarita) & it was just okay, and my mom ordered a mimosa with cranberry juice that tasted nothing like champagne. 2. For us to have gone at the tail-end of brunch (with a restaurant more than half-empty) it took forever to get what we ordered… even our cocktails took long, as they came at the same time as our food. 3. Service staff was not up to par — we saw service staff watching games on their phone behind the hostess stand & joking at the front of the restaurant while using profanity. We made a reservation and noted that we were celebrating a birthday as a special occasion, and it was never acknowledged by anyone which was kind of a let down.

I’ve had great prior experiences at STIR more than a year ago. This time the food was lacking. Fries soggy, salad overdressed, poke bowls lacking flavor, steak overcooked. Cocktails were good and aside from flies around us at our indoor table, it was a good atmosphere. Based on this visit I would not return for the food. Perhaps for cocktails.

Burger was good, so was the burrata peach special. The fries were the best thing. That’s not shade, the fries were just really freaking.

Food was really good and was reasonably price for the CLT food scene. Creative craft cocktails - don't miss their signature tonic syrup in the gin & tonic. Amazing! Staff was extremely busy and had a delay on our food order but they definitely rectified the situation. We will be back!

Service was excellent, had to send the wine back, as it was warm and had turned. The second glass was perfect, food was good. The atmosphere was lively.

The food was truly not that good. I’m at the shrimp and grits and it was heavy with mushrooms was not very tasty at all.

Had a bit of a hiccup regarding our order but the server Chelsea A and Manager went above and beyond to make it right. My husband and were celebrating our wedding anniversary on a Monday night, and very rarely treat ourselves to a nice dinner out these days, so what could have put a huge damper on the night out was made right which we greatly appreciated!
