STIR is the perfect restaurant to enjoy a night out, host clients, or sip a craft cocktail over a dozen oysters. Located in South End, the restaurant is an open-air concept with a large, heated outdoor patio. We are open for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch.

Our cold bar and kitchen offers fresh oysters from North Carolina and beyond, traditional Mexican and Peruvian ceviche, and classic entrees and specials, all prepared from scratch.

STIR is famous for craft cocktails. We freeze and carve 300-pound blocks of artisanal ice in-house, age certain cocktails in oak barrels for richer flavors, and place others on draft for crispness and carbonation. The result: categorically elevated cocktails. Our passion for fine spirits also compels us to find and share rare bottles, many of which are extremely difficult to procure.

We welcome Charlotte to enjoy our unmatched cocktails, fresh seafood, and classic dishes in an atmosphere of genuine hospitality.

Stir is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and great vibes. But what really made our experience unforgettable was our waitress, Yasmin. She was phenomenal—attentive, friendly, and made us feel like VIPs the entire night. She knew the menu inside and out, gave amazing recommendations, and her energy was contagious. The food and drinks were delicious, but Yasmin truly elevated the entire evening. We’ll definitely be back—and asking for her again!

Bao sliders very dry and tough. Took 20 minutes for anyone to come to our table. One appetizer came out and a few minutes later our server notified us that they were out of my appetizer. I had filet and goat cheese ravioli. Cooked perfectly and great flavor but ravioli was not cooked appropriately and dough was too thick. Crème brûlée was stellar but chocolate cake was cold, dry, bland, and not fresh. Server was great once we were acknowledged. Good vibes for those in 20’-30 range and very loud. Cocktails looked swanky but I had wine. I really don’t see the desire to go back.

If your looking for a very loud dining experience in hard as rock booth seats, this is your place. We booked this place because of the reviews. Not sure what the attraction is. We ordered pre-dinner cocktails and they didn’t arrive until 28 minutes after being sat. Yes, after 10 minutes we started timing. And they were horrible. I didn’t even finish mine. And in looking over the menu there was nothing on it that would warrant really loud music that didn’t match the vibe of the restaurant, nor could you speak over it, and the uncomfortable seating, we paid our bill and left.

Positive: The food was good & portion sizes were generous making the price worth it. Overall we enjoyed almost everything we ate (the main reason I give my experience 3/5 stars) Cons: 1. For cocktails to be their specialty, they were just average. I got a tequila-type drink (similar to a spicy margarita) & it was just okay, and my mom ordered a mimosa with cranberry juice that tasted nothing like champagne. 2. For us to have gone at the tail-end of brunch (with a restaurant more than half-empty) it took forever to get what we ordered… even our cocktails took long, as they came at the same time as our food. 3. Service staff was not up to par — we saw service staff watching games on their phone behind the hostess stand & joking at the front of the restaurant while using profanity. We made a reservation and noted that we were celebrating a birthday as a special occasion, and it was never acknowledged by anyone which was kind of a let down.

I’ve had great prior experiences at STIR more than a year ago. This time the food was lacking. Fries soggy, salad overdressed, poke bowls lacking flavor, steak overcooked. Cocktails were good and aside from flies around us at our indoor table, it was a good atmosphere. Based on this visit I would not return for the food. Perhaps for cocktails.

Food was really good and was reasonably price for the CLT food scene. Creative craft cocktails - don't miss their signature tonic syrup in the gin & tonic. Amazing! Staff was extremely busy and had a delay on our food order but they definitely rectified the situation. We will be back!
