   Went last week. Food was okay at best. Way over priced. Meal was $120 with entree and two drinks.

   Maybe it was an aberration, but our visit was a major disappointment. From the waitress telling us the wrong side dish to non-creamy creamed spinach to duck ordered medium rare and delivered medium well, the entire experience left a bad taste in our mouths. If you aspire to fine cuisine and charge accordingly, you should deliver. I feel like they were trying to be something that they are not. I would not go back.

   If you live in east Texas or are there on a visit, a trip to historic Jefferson can be a great day or weekend. The Stillwater Inn is a wonderful bed and breakfast but more important, it is a great restaurant. Wonderful food and service. The house is beautiful. Your significant other will be very happy with your selection due to the ambiance, food and service. The owner is the chef and he is very good. The hostess is the owner and she is very friendly and will gladly tell you the history of the inn that they have owned now for 32 years.

   We first came to Stillwater almost 30 years ago. We were amazed to find a restaurant of such excellence in a small town. Over the years we have visited several times and have never been disappointed. Stillwater Inn does everything right. Chef Bill Stewart prepares wonderful dishes and Sharon Stewart provides an pleasant house....this is fine dining.

   Great Atmosphere, Great Service & probably one of the best steaks I've ever had. What more could you want? I look forward to my next trip back to Jefferson. I'll definitely be returning to the Stillwater Inn!
