My first visit . Great food and service . We were a party of 6 including a 3 and 7 y ar old . Very comfortable for all of us .
Thank you for the excellent superb service that you gave my family in the celebration of my wife MBA degree we appreciate your service. The Hunt family.
Food was delicious, service excellent. It was a busy evening, and rather noisy. That diminished as the crowd thinned out. We were both very happy with our experience.
It was very busy so the service was a little slow but we understood that and will definatly return
Made reservations for 28 th wedding anniversary. When we got there they put us in bar area even though I had requested restaurant seating on reservation. They said they had too many big parties. I also requested gluten free information or menu. Did not get that either. Asked server about gluten free options. Not knowledgeable at all had to run back to cook for every question. Food was decent but definitely overpriced for quality and service. Would recommend Another restaurant for same type food and better service/prices.
Atmosphere was nice but server Chris was not very enthusiastic, took his sweet time to come to our table each time despite the dining room being fairly empty. Our food was below-average. My sister's brussel sprouts were blackened, having been cooked to oblivion. Parmesan crusted fish was greasy and upset our stomachs. Food was not properly seasoned...everything tasted bland. Bottom of my chicken was burnt. But my mom enjoyed her salad.
It was a quality experience top to bottom. Food and server were exceptional.
Ordered lobster tail to accompany my steak at a cost of $17.95. It was so small I doubt if it would have filled a tablespoon. Very disappointing.
As always, Stillwater is an excellent place to eat.
My to go steak for Valentine's day .for my son in have the birth of grand son was very over cooked may e they dont lnow it still cooking while off the heat idk
The only items cooked to our specification were the steak and scallops. The appetizer, tuna, was over cooked and brown in appearance, it was returned. The second time it was cooked properly but brown looking. It should be a dark pink. Both plates of steamed broccoli were only warm and raw, very crunchy. They should have been al dente.
For the price we paid I do not see the restaurant as a high end establishment. I did notice other customers complaining about their food as I arrived and dring the meal.
The atmosphere was really nice but attention must be focused on all side dishes and appetizers.
We were not impressed.
The food was excellent. The only reason I gave four stars instead of 5 is because I had asked for my steak to be medium and it was a little overcooked. My husband asked for med rare and his was perfect. Others at our table ordered crab cakes and fish. Both meals were excellent. The crab cakes were all lump crab, no filler and worth the price. We also had the corn chowder, which was outstanding. Cocktails were also very good. Sorry I can't give any feedback on dessert, we were stuffed and didn't order any!
Took my wife to Stillwater for date night. Haven’t been here in years. We were sat at a booth and the cushions were ripped and cracked. Waitress was nice but rarely stopped by. Drinks stayed empty most of the meal. Bread that was requested at the time we ordered didn’t come til after the meal was complete. Food was ok. Really disappointed in what this place showed us last night. I was embarrassed that I picked this place to take my wife on our one night to ourselves.
For the price we paid, there are many places in the area that are better.
First time there-server was GREAT, and the food was excellent!
The server was great. The food was good but the restaurant markets itself as more upscale than the food seemed to deserve.
The food was excellent and the service was outstanding.
At Stillwater we received excellent service and the food was awesome from the artichoke cheese dip appetizer to our superb parmesan encrusted lemon sole. It was definitely worth stopping for dinner after the play at the Wharton Center.
Typical bar food. We got the prime burgers. We both said to prepare the burgers medium. They tasted as if they were reheated in a microwave oven and were well done. The server overcharged for the drink but she apologized and corrected the error. Would not go back.
Easy to get to location. Good menu selection. Although putting menu on “the little one” - aka iPads, does challenge old dotard dining guests like D. Trump. Menu on iPads also appeared to not include prices. Service and quality of food were good.
We went to Stillwater for our 53rd Wedding Anniversary celebration. We made an early reservation and arrived early even for that. It was Happy Hour, so we chose to sit at the bar for an appetizer and cocktails. The Sangria was fantastic -- so much so that we requested to be seated in the bar area for dinner so we could continue with Happy Hour Sangria! Though a bit pricey for a regular dinner out, it will definitely be our go-to for special occasions. The quality of food and portion sizes were certainly worth the cost. The staff was knowledgeable and pleasant to have a conversation with. I wish we could go again, really soon! Maybe we can make it a regular "date night Happy Hour" spot.
Our server was very slow. Took way to long to get our food and drinks.
We always enjoy Stillwater Grill for their outstanding Tenderloin Tips. And the rest of the menu is well prepared and delicious as well. Service is always excellent. Highly recommended!
Ate here after MSU advanced degree graduation and it was great! We arrived early for our reservation and they sat us right away. It was busy, but the service was quick and the food delicious. I especially liked the filet. My husband said his salmon was amazing, too. I was expecting a great experience because I knew it was a Main Street Ventures restaurant, and it did not disappoint! We’ll be back.
Excellent food. We had sea scallops and swordfish and cooked perfectly! Our server was awesome!
Recommend making a reservation for weekend evenings. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. We were disappointed with our experience though as we waited approx. 1 h our for our meals and one came missing one of the sides. Food was very good though and will return again hoping this was an isolated incident. We were planning on staying for dessert but due to the extremely long wait for our order to be completed we had to leave as we had theater tickets.
Dinner was very nice except for the noisy group of children seated near us. Parents were at a different table and these tweens were quite noisy. Otherwise it was a nice after theatre dinner.
Prime rib was like rubber
Filet was well and medium rare was ordered
The food and service were great as always.
Nice dinner for family. Food was very good and waitstaff was very friendly.
In for a MSU. football game. Close to our hotel. Good dining experience.
my steak tips were about half the group full of gristle and fat
We have always experienced great food and service at Stillwater's. It is our go to place for a nice Friday night dinner. We've never had a bad steak there.
Steak tips are good. Most dishes pricy for what you get. Chicken pasta dishes are nothing special.
Nicolette was a great server. She was attentive and got everything right without being annoying or intrusive.
Steak tips are great. The ribs are very spicy. Food is overall very good. Enjoy an occasional meal here on special occasions.
Not worth it for the inflated prices. Nothing special about the food, and the idea that a simple dinner for two with only a glass of wine between us would add up to $81? In Lansing? No thanks. It was a $30 experience,
First time here.
Great experience, food was delicious. Thanks to our server Alisha. Will be back. The Anniversary couple.
We chose Stillwater in Okemos because we like the Brighton location and had tickets for Wharton Center, so this put us 10 minutes away. We allowed an hour and a half for dinner and needed every minute - service was very slow! Food was delicious. We sat outside because it was quieter, however the patio furniture was quite uncomfortable.
Awesome menu, great service and great atmosphere
Food was average; not worth prices charged. Service was a bit awkward and at or below average given there were almost no diners at 6:30 on a Sunday.
