Lovely pub in a delightful village, seemed popular with locals and visitors alike. Sunday roast beef and Yorkshire pudding was delicious and the staff kindly accommodated us as we were running a little late for our booking ! Live music and a sing song on a Sunday afternoon too ! What's not to like !

Hopes were high based on 2024 experience but sorry to say not as good. Draught beer excellent but our table was hut away next to chimney breast with limited room to move. I ordered whitebait to start and it was covered in breadcrumbs and clearly microwaved from freezer - poor. Ordered the special plaice with asparagus and new pots - fish was small and swimming in melted butter. My wife had olives to start (good) and cod and chips to follow. The cod appeared huge but was mainly batter and covered everything else on the plate. So sorry to say will not be going back.

The staff were welcoming, cheerful and friendly. Unfortunately we were disappointed with the food. We both had the fish and chips - huge portions but overcooked so tasteless, it was if the frier was too hot as even the chips didn’t taste of anything. Then to make matters worse the pub had run out of tomato sauce! Also would advise against booking the conservatory as it wasn’t the nicest of places to eat.

Had the roast beef - absolutely delicious. Beef just fell apart - so tender and very tasty. Would definitely recommend. Rhubarb crumble was great too!

This was our first night in stiffkey and a great choice Short walk and friendly knowledgeable staff Food good we all had sea bream Ambience was great including various dogs

Great food (well cooked and fresh). The chilli beef starter was awesome. Fab service. Of the 4 restaurants we visited during our stay this was the best.

Great food and friendly attentive staff. Our first visit to the Red Lion and will definitely come again. Whitebait and crevettes starters. Niçoise salad and belly pork mains. Delicious and shared a dessert of hot cross bun bread and butter pudding and ice cream. Good selection of beers too.
