Dinner with girlfriends. This was our first visit and we enjoyed ourselves. Our waiter was attentive and helpful. He worked with me on a restricted diet to find something I could eat, which was appreciated! Another friend had a misunderstanding about a menu item, but management was gracious about it and resolved it. The free valet service was a plus, too, as main street parking can be hard to find. We were not rushed after dinner and had time to chat until we were ready to leave. A good experience; will go again.
When six ladies can come to dinner and everyone is pleased and all the food was good and all the plates were cleaned, that is saying something. In this day when everyone wants something different and yet everyone can find something they like then it gets a thumbs up from me and my crowd.
Was quiet and staff was nice. Paid too much I think for tempeh sandwich (kind of dry) and salty fries ..(Over $20 with 1 glass of house wine)

It was a Friday night during Restaurant Week and the staff appeared to be stressed. The food was okay but the mashed potatoes were cold. When the entree plates were being cleared for dessert, our server handed a used fork back to one in our party and explained that he might want to keep it. In other words, clean silverware for another course would not be considered. Good value for Restaurant Week, but normally not really.
My wife and I went for restaurant week. We were immediately sat in the porch area. We were the only ones there and the bartender was the server. The bar area was packed so our service was slow. Out dinner was not good my chicken was like rubber and my wife’s food was cold and raw. Because our server/bartender was so busy at the bar our service was slow. The meal ended with an underwhelming desert. If restaurant week was supposed to get people to try your restaurant to earn your business....this one failed. We won’t go back!!!!
Pleasantly surprised. It is not one of those “crowded noisy over the top” places. A very nice alternative to some of the “fine dining” downtown. This was a most relaxed atmosphere with the food and presentation superb.
Great food, service left a lot to be desired, but think our server was new, and still learning the ropes.
3 of our party of 5 had the tasting menu. The flavor of the food was good but the food was cold. The food that was ordered from the regular menu was warm. It was disappointing.
Initially I was disappointed. Our table wasn’t ready for my reservation for 7at 7:30p when a arrived, so I had to sit in the waiting area with 8 gift bags, my purse and an umbrella, then once another one of my guest arrived the table still wasn’t ready which was embarrassing. Once we were sat everything got better. Our server was knowledgeable and super upbeat! The food was great minus the fried green tomatoes that were fried on the outside but Ice cold on the inside, yuck! The peach moscato punch and house red wine were great as well. One last detail, they offer valet parking. Too bad we weren’t aware of it until we had paid for parking and walked in the rain. On open table it only lists street parking. Oh also, you get 5 percent off for uploading a picture of your food on Facebook.
Miss Jasmine and Connor were great! My wine glass was never empty. Loved the chicken marsalla, garlic mashed & fresh steamed veggies. When an uninvited individual came in the door and sat at my table across from me, quickly making unwelcomed conversation, Connor and I were able to diffuse the situation without disturbing the other patrons. I will go back and maybe try the shrimp & grits next time. Crab bisque hit the spot on a cold rainy night. The lemon tart was delicious (it perked me up for my drive home).
The macaroni and cheese with fried chicken is amazing, the cocktails were reasonably priced, and the service was fantastic.
Our party of 4 each enjoyed our dinner meal. The she crab soup was one of the best I've ever had. My son rated the shrimp and grits as one of the best he's had. We were surprised this is a chain restaurant. As it was post holiday, the crowd was light. We hope they continue to grow in popularity. We regret not trying brunch there--menu offerings were tempting. We would definitely return.
We have been to Stewart Penick's Terrace twice and both times have been terrible. The food quality is very poor. For example, my husband ordered a steak with "warm pink center" and it came out very well done, dry and inedible. We can't even understand why they would have served that food. The potato pancakes were burned as well. I ordered a salad and the lettuce was soggy and wilted. This is consistent with our bad first experience but we decided to give it another try...wrong. The fact that the place was empty should have been a hint that others have already figured out how bad this place is. Don't go there.
As usual The Terrace doesn’t disappoint. We come on Fridays fro half price bourbon night. Enjoy some delicious cocktails and food. Friendly, consistent and delicious.
The lighting in the restaurant is as if you under interrogation- far too bright and very unflattering. Service was... confusing, two different waiters. The food was decent. Not something I will crave again, but it was ok. The presentations were severely lacking as well.
The food is great and the atmosphere is lovely. I just worry because there aren’t that many people in there either time I have gone.
The wait staff was terrible. We had a waiter who was training another. The trainee wanted us to have VEAL CHOP well done. We had asked for medium rare. Why did he open his mouths to dispute our choice? The waiter took our order and never came back. We finally got up and asked for bread. As it was served out food came out. Food was delicious and presentation was excellent. But spoiled but dumb wait staff. Before we were finished they tried to take our plates away..... I still had the fork in my hand and was still chewing. The trainer waiter needed training.
Had dinner with a group of friends. The food was outstanding as well as the service. I suggest everyone give it a try.
We went for an Anniversary and it was great! We had a private table, right by the street. Service was very responsive, knowledgeable, and helpful. Food was higher priced than standard, but that's expected for the Downtown area. The food was worth the price as well! I had the steak and it was cooked to perfection. My girlfriend had the shrimp and scallop linguine, and loved hers. Beer prices are acceptable, but some of the cocktails seemed overpriced. I would definitely recommend for brunch, dinner dates, or special occasions. I will definitely be back again!
Our meal at Terrace was very good and the service was great. We went on a Saturday evening, and while our reservation was somewhat early at 6:30pm, the restaurant was empty. They first wanted to seat us at a high-top table in the bar, but since there were literally only 2 other tables occupied in the entire restaurant, we requested a booth. Although the food was good and reasonably priced, it felt awkward with the restaurant so empty.
Thrilled with this new restaurant! Awesome menu and great atmosphere. Looking forward to a return visit in the coming weeks!

The staff was accommodating so that we could be seated to see both football games. The service was attentive and the food was great. Will definitely go back!
This was my second meal at The Terrace and I will definitely return. I love their menu and the food lives up to the descriptions!
We were visiting from NY and wanted southern food. We found it. The fried green tomatoes were amazing. Fried chicken, shrimp and grits, veal chop all delicious. Don't forget the chocolate waffles and ice cream.
Food and location were great. Only negative was I was on a date with my wife and the lights were too bright. The waitress said it was not on purpose and the lights were quickly turned down. Even after bring turned down, I felt like it could have felt more intimate with better lighting. Either way, the restaurant has a good story and we will be back.
The only disappointing thing about my experience was that I felt bad at how little people were in the building. There was a table of 5 and then myself and my date. The food was spectacular and full of flavor. I highly recommend the smothered chicken. My date ordered the filet with garlic butter. It was cooked perfect, but missing the garlic butter. Cocktails were good and they have a pretty good happy hour special. Half off draft beers, $1 off glass of wine, and 1/2 off liquor up to $7.50 value. I would really like to see this place succeed. I thought there was a lot of value in their menu and they have other dishes I would like to try. Maybe it was just a slow Monday night. The only other thing I would note is I had not heard of this place until a few weeks ago but they've been open for 5 months now. Maybe some more marketing to the community would do it some good. I live downtown and was oblivious to its existence.

This is a restaurant that doesn't know what it wants to be. It tries to be all things to everyone and doesn't succeed at any of them.
The Terrace is an amazing restaurant. We were seated promptly and and our server greeted us shortly after. The food selections were unbelievable and we both had a difficult time deciding. Our entrees were above par and we will definitely return for a second shot at the other entrees.
My only issue was with our server. We were never offered bread while all tables around us were. After ordering our drinks we overheard the server tell the table behind us of the 1/2 price Bourbon specials for Happy Hour. Would have been nice to know prior to ordering wine for dinner.
Great menu. Short ribs were excellent among many really good looking choices. Was a slow weeknight, so servers were not stressed. A very good downtown value.
We highly recommend The Terrace. Our server was attentive & even accommodated a special request - half fries & half onion rings. The shrimp & grits were the best! The fried okra on top was a surprise touch! Truly southern food with a twist!

The food was excellent with a very good selection to choose from. We enjoyed the seating on the terrace next to the street. Wine and beer choices were more than adequate. All in all it was great experience and wonderful ambience. We'll be back.
We went to the Terrace on Saturday and had a really nice dinner. We started off with the Calamari appetizer which we loved the tomato relish. My wife had the scallops which were nice and I had the Shrimp and Grits both dishes were really fresh tasting. The bar area is really nice and we will be back.
Noisy. Slow service. Wife's soup came out lukewarm. My steak was ordered medium. Came out med rare. Food was otherwise ok. Took the waitress way to long to bring our check after she knew we were finished with dinner. Probably the worst first time experience we have ever had. Have a long way to go.
Celebrating my 24th wedding anniversary and did not know what to expect. The food and dinning experience was exceptional.
