Stern & Bow
celery leaf, cayenne, old bay french fries
marinated, grilled prime hanger caramelized onions, gruyere
We enjoyed of "outoor" dinner at Stern & Bow. The food is always outstanding, especiality the branzino. Several members of the party thought the veggie burger was unique (mushroom based) and very tasty. Lots of heat sources to keep you warm on a cold winter night.
Best. Restaurant. Around. By far.
Absolutely the best everything we try is fabulous
Food and atmosphere was great.
Good food and service. Mike the bartender was the best! They had a singer and the place was too loud to talk.
Stern and Bow has continuosly been pleasing for its good service and great food.
I highly recommend them.
Everything about it was great. We were celebrating a birthday and it was a success!
We were there on Thanksgiving. When I made the reservation, there was no set menu listed. When we got there, it was a prix fix with 4 choices for appetizer and entree, and 3 for dessert. While the food was good, I thought it was expensive for what we got. Drinks are pricey as well. We will return to try their regular menu.
What a joke. $65 p/p. 6:00 reservation. Sat for 20 minutes before having to flag down a busboy and ask for a waiter. First waiter was very apologetic, but after first course and entree, again we had to wait 20 minutes for a DIFFERENT waiter to apologize about dessert not coming out. I understand it’s a holiday, but seriously? Totally pathetic. IT’S A PRIX FIX. There are LITERALLY 7 things on the menu. We used to love this place, but the level of dissatisfaction and disappointment we experienced tonight will likely prohibit us from returning.
Great clean and attentive staff
great food, great atmosphere...loved the band - The Blend
will be back soon!
Food was excellent and service was very good, but noise level from bar was very high. Great place for a group of friends but not recommended for families.
Fun place, good food, nice and fun atmosphere.
Another great meal at Stern & Bow. Love the live music!
Great atmosphere bar and service.. new hot spot!
Great service and food..Love coming here.
Recognized a few faces from the old Harvest Restaurant (which went out years ago). Stern and Bow is AWESOME, though. The food was well prepared and delicious, the craft cocktails were made well, and the service was remarkable (especially in today's state of service). We'll definitely return soon.
We were a party of 4. 2 had the hangar steak med rare and said it was cooked perfectly and delicious. I had the fish special which was flounder stuffed with mushrooms on top of spinach with a mussel sauce, also delicious. We also had the Thai bowl, excellent too. The wine choices were abundant and the oysters superb. Noise level a bit high.
Consistently outstanding in every way! There is always something new and delightful - this time it was the stone crab claws - amazing!!!
Stern & Bow has become a local favorite. Whether lunch, dinner or Sunday brunch..it has not let me down. Service and food has been excellent.
Saturdat nights are a little loud. Ambiance is pleasant.
Go and enjoy.
We travelled from Edgewater, NJ to Closter for this. The food was way overpriced for its quality. We had reservation for noon. We started with calamari as appetizer. It was soggy and oily . The kitchen staff definitely did not wait for the oil to warm up hot enough to put in the calamari. The oil has a weird taste too, probably old frying oil. We ordered a Margherita Pizza . The pizza chef arrived same time as us. The oven was not ready to take our pizza order. After 50 min our Margherita pizza came, but it looked like a regular personal cheese pizza with a few whole basil leaves on it. Pizza was dry, crust was flavourless, barely any sauce, cheese was hard and tasted weird. We did ask for no parmesan cheese. It did not look or taste like Mozzarella cheese, or maybe it’s cheese that has gone bad. The half fried chicken was a disappointment. It was dry and flavourless. The sauce was starchy and sweet. Even Chinese take outs have better dipping sauce. For $23, we could order 2 buckets of KFC, more juicy and more flavourful. Lastly, the coke we ordered tasted like tap water.🙄 And when we asked for paper napkins, we got kitchen paper towel. 😞 One good note, our server was very polite and pleasant.
Stern & Bow was excellent. A 10 from start to finish.
They have a great Raw Bar. The bartenders and drinks are top notch
Always good and service is great !
We dine at this restaurant often. We really like the ambiance. The food is good; we usually eat oysters and pizza. The cocktails are great. It’s quite busy, reservation recommended. It’s a kid friendly restaurant. My son loves their margarita pizza. There’s valet parking but lots of street parking as well. The owners are very friendly, they come and check in. Overall, the experience is always positive. If one thing I could suggest would be turning down the music a bit. The music’s on later in the evening but it can get really loud. Other than that a perfect hangout in town.
The food was incredible! My first time at Stern and Bow. I’m still thinking about the fantastic seafood dish I had. So good! A little pricey and very loud but a fun atmosphere to do a friend get together. Can easily overlook that bc the food was so great! Can’t wait to go back!!!
A phenomenal dinner out!!
This was the first time for us. We were very impressed with the food (fried green tomotoes were the best we have had -- and we order them whenever they are on a menu). We enjoyed the outside dining (in the tent). We plan to return for dinner -- the wine list was impressive.
One of the best local restaurants in the neighborhood. Phenomenal food quality, freshest shucked oysters and great service!!!
Great food. Great atmosphere. And phenomenal service. Carlos one of best waiters I’ve ever had.
Fun vibe with a diverse menu and excellent cocktails.
Great food. Wonderful service. Highly recommended.
Amazing restaurant. Will comeback for sure. Pizza and Porkchop were delicious!
I went there with my family during the week , the place was quiet , we were celebrating my birthday ,I put a note on the reservation and they totally forgot , not a big deal but since they were slow i thought they were going to hit all the marks , well I was wrong .
We got sat in a area apparently kids friendly since we went with our 9 year old and they sat up next to a table with noice toddlers .
The oysters were on point , the pizza was forgettable we tried the regular margarita and the one with prosciutto with figs ,the doughy was hard , considering that they have a nice looking brick oven pizza that was credit enough to go for the pizzas but they were just ok .the fried chicken was fantastic with the 2 sauces that they serve it with also we order the ribs ,those were really good too. My wife had a cocktail with raspberries and tequila that I would recommend , our server was attentive but we left unimpressed and we won’t be back ,we were trying to find a new place in the area and we gave it a shoot , we will still look for it.we definitely won’t recommend it .
Brunch … lunch…dinner …you can’t go wrong!!! Delicious food and wonderful staff!
The food was great although a little pricey. I had the pappardelle with wild boar. It was really good and very filling. Other meals at the table were half roast chicken, half fried chicken and swordfish kababs. Very loud place.
Always a great meal. Russell has got a great thing going.
We started the evening with drinks at the bar. The bartender Rebecca made the best old fashioned I’ve had in a long time. The entire staff was so friendly. We ordered the paella for two it was outstanding. Another great evening at Stern &Bow
Was way to loud I was not expecting this. Don’t go during prime dinner hours if you would like to hear yourself think.
