The menu is rich with American cuisine ranging from fresh local sea fare and nutritious salads to mouthwatering flatbreads and exciting appetizers. Sterling’s has a handcrafted cocktail-focused concept that has been described as classic with an unconventional twist.
In the summer, Sterling’s is an ideal lunch or after work spot with its spacious outdoor patio and its 360-degree bar which appeal to both tourists, locals and businessmen and women. Able to accommodate intimate dining, large parties and functions, Sterling’s is the perfect destination for your next downtown outing.
Having the Impossible Burger on the menu will make me come back, as will the fries. Thin staffed at lunch though the two staff were friendly and tried their best.
A very nice birthday dinner. Thank you for being so accommodating :-)
Good, low key dinner place. I recommend. The prices are fair.
Sterling's looks like a fancy restaurant, more upscale than we usually go for out team lunches. The food turned out to be mediocre for most of the dishes - cold waffles that didn't seem fresh in the Chicken and Waffles, and a burger that was small, a little burnt on the outside. Basically the quality you'd expect from a much less fancy and less expensive place. The person who got soup and a Cobb salad said that was good.
The food was good but nothing really special. The waitstaff was not all that attentive but he very helpful and pleasant once we got his attention. The restaurant was very clean and the location is great if you’re in the Faneuil Hall area. We would stop in again.
Nothing special about the food. Mediocre at best. Attentive staff, good selection of beer and lots of room for our party of 11. Best described as standard pub fare.
The food was awesome and we had incredible waitress
We had a reservation for 6 Thursday night, they were very accommodating to our arrival being late with less people and the service was great. We ordered several appetizers and cocktails and enjoyed our night chatting and relaxing. Towards the end of our meal, my friend noticed a mouse at the table next to us running around the area where we were sitting. We understand that it is Boston, and that these things happen, however, nothing seemed to be done about it when we brought it to the attention of our server. While it wasn't a huge deal, it would have been a kind gesture to perhaps take some cost off of our bill (it was almost $300.00) or bring buy a round of drinks on the house as a nice gesture. Just something to think about the next time this might occur.
This is a good place to meet after work if you work downtown. The choice of menu items is large enough to meet most people's needs and the service was excellent.
There was only one server other than bartender. He did a great job
We were in Boston only for a day, very hungry and had no idea where to go. I’ll start with the positives: Great location with a nice outside patio. Our server was very nice and accommodating. They had a deejay so depending on what type of vibe you’re going for this may be a plus! The food however was pretty bad....and our group had a wide range of items. Even the cocktails! I don’t know about you, but a lot of the reason to get a Moscow mule is the cool copper cup. Not at this place...plastic all the way😞
Ive never given a negative review before and didn’t really see any on this site so maybe we just picked an off day/time but I would not go back or recommend this place....sorry guys, it’s a no for me
Their turkey club is an abomination. Bread not toasted, rather completely soggy - fell apart. 1 piece of bacon. Just a joke. Don't waste your time eating here - good for a beer outside though.
Caesar salad dressing was mediocre. I requested the white anchovies, but there weren’t enough.
The patio was the perfect for an outdoor lunch!
Staff is very attentive
I came here with my dad before a Celtic’s playoff game. It was pretty loud so it wasn’t good for a conversation but it definitely had us excited for the game. I got a few beers and the buffalo chicken flatbread, which was awesome. I want to come back here just to get this meal again. My dad got the burger, which he enjoyed. Our waitress was great and I think everything was reasonably priced. Will definitely be dining here again!
great place for a business lunch. Great view, quiet tables, great food, great service.
Was sat next to the very loud bar. Steak was burnt on the outside and too chewy on the inside. Wouldn’t order again.
Casual, good food, nice atmosphere, Great service!
Service was slow, food was mediocre at best. The restaurant was not crowded and yet we had to chase down our waitress. Our 6 year old's burger arrived more than 10 minutes after everyone else's food and there was no apology or anything. Would not return or recommend.
I was the first customer having the Seafood Cassarole. They had just included on the menu... I highly recommend.
Very disappointed. Waiter was rude and miserable. Steak tips lacked flavor and meat was poor quality.
Disgusting, I didn’t stay because a mouse ran through the dining room.
Sterling's is one of my favorite places to meet friends for drinks. At night you really have to make a reservation because it gets really busy. Prices are average too.
Nice outdoor seating area with views of Faneuil Hall. Food was good.
Room was uncomfortably cold.
Inside seating - waited 10 minutes to be asked if we had been attended to. Caesar salad was very plain, chicken was over cooked.
The service was great and the food was good. I loved the outdoor seating. It was kinda of hidden which I really liked. My only complaint is how small the menu was. The only thing I really liked/wanted was all out.
Food was subpar at best. Great outdoor space though!
This was my second visit to Sterling's for a business lunch. The weather was lovely and we were seated outside. The patio is very large and holds many tables. Our waiter was prompt, pleasant, and our orders arrived quickly. Another staff membe served and cleared - both were professional and courteous. Clearly used to patrons watching the clock which is most appreciated! Cobb salad was ample and fresh.
Beautiful night to be outside with the happy hour crowd. Appreciated the reservation in the crazy happy hour time. 2 diners had fish Taco's which were just ok and had been rated well recently. Other pub food was acceptable.
Although we did have a reservation I was surprised and disappointed by the kitchen's inability to meet our needs We did have a large group of 14 but they should not have been surprised and could have prepared better. They did not have enough food to meet requests of the guests, and not everyone was served at the same time. My pasta dish was served last and others had finished their meal by that time
Their saving grace was our waitress Alexis, she was very kind and attentive to our needs while apologizing for fact kitchen could not provide food we ordered.
It was a great location and the food we received was good so we might consider them again
I usually enjoy the experience there, particularly for business lunches but my sandwich was soggy and the salad had too much dressing.
service was abominable. bus server could not even identify our dishes and there were long waits in between drink orders. i was sitting for almost 30 min before someone came by. and unless there is inventory to support it, the kicthen takeovers are a bad idea. you may save overhead, but when you're missing avocados on an already limited mexican food truck menu it's simply unacceptable.
Nice outdoor setting. Turkey Burger is the best around. Buffalo Chicken Meatball appetizer is great.
Met friends for a quick bite before attending an event in the State Room. Although the menu is limited, I had a fish taco that way beyond my expectations. My 3 friends were all pleased with their meals, as well. Although we were surrounded by a loud after-work crowd, we had a great time there! Once we left the upstairs event we returned to Sterling for a cocktail.
I must comment on the amazing service! There was a bartender and only one server for the entire restaurant! She (sorry I forget her name) was masterful in handling the crowd and keeping everything straight! Kudos to her professionalism!
This place is a hidden gem in Boston's financial district. Great food, great service and the price was very reasonable. I'll definitely go back.
Food was a underwhelming. Had a simple Cobb salad and it was too dry for my taste.
We reserved a table at Sterling's after work for 4 - usually after work Sterling's is very busy - but I guess Tuesday nights aren't their busy period. There were very few tables taken. The service was friendly and prompt. The menu short but varied, the food delicious and speedily delivered. We had oysters (raw, local, fresh), seafood chowder, onion soup, a couple of flatbreads, the fish and chips and the soba noodle salad with tuna. Everyone was happy with the meal. We had a couple of reasonably priced bottles of wine to boot. In the summer, the outdoor patio is fantastic, but crowded. Sterling's is always a good time.
The server was rude and clearly rushing us with no regard for our experience. Would not go back.
