Overall it's definitely more bar then restaurant. They have a nice space outside that feel good given the current COVID environment. Food was was mediocre but service was fairly good.
Delicious chowder and lobster rolls.... the lobster was plentiful and fresh! And our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable. Wonderful experience. We will definitely go again soon.
Hamburger and chicken sandwich were just okay. There was nothing special about either. Waitress had no personality and seemed like she didn’t want to be there. Will not dine there again.
Upbeat sports bar feel. Not what we were expecting or looking for. Also they were out of several things on their menu.
Great location, great food great service ! five stars on everything
Can’t believe I’ve never heard of how good this place is! Totally nailed the fried stuff - light and delicious. And omg what great martinis for just $12. Will be back!
Had a very good time..food was good and service was great as well.
We had a quick weekday dinner and quite enjoyed Sterling. It was fairly empty on the patio so we felt very safe. We're pescatarian and had no problems identifying good options; the shrimp tacos and buffalo cauliflower were delicious, and the pretzel was the perfect level of soft and salty.
First time customer. Friendly service, good food and drink with nice variety of options. Will definitely be coming back!
First time there. Sat on the patio. Nice set up with lovely flowers. Had drinks only. The wine choices are very nice and served cold. The draft beers “were coming out warm” so our server recommended one of the canned beers which was cold. Due to quick change in weather we decided not to stay for food. Would go back.
Amazing service, extremely clean and cautious, great atmosphere!
Service was great, overall atmosphere was great. We ordered fish and chips, got one SMALL piece of fish (maybe 2x2inch piece), so basically the meal was French fries. We left hungry. Was very disappointed because overall everything else was great.
Great time had by all
Their patio set up is great. It wasn't busy and they use all of the necessary protocols for the pandemic. Our server was very attentive, funny and upbeat. The food was delicious. You must make a reservation but it was a delightful dinner.
GREAT FODO AND GREAT PATIO!! Highly recommend!!
Sterling's isn't my favorite restaurant (I generally think of it more as a place for a happy hour or business lunch), but I had a wonderful date there this weekend. The servers were really nice, gave us a great table, and my burger was fantastic. Couldn't be happier.
Great for grabbing drinks or just catching up with friends. Snacked through their pretzel (which is huge), clam chowder, and an order of Wings. Cool spot, we'll probably be back next week!
Sterling's has always been my favorite outdoor dining venue in Boston. Consistently good , always has a cheerful experienced staff
Had a great time at Sterling’s! We were seated on the patio - food came out quickly, was delicious and service was excellent.
Didn’t maintain social distancing well and had tables 3’ part. Would not go back because of that. Service and good were great though.
Alba was amazing, as always! They use a QR code you can scan with your phone to see the menu on your phone instead of using physical menus. Great idea!
Went during the COVID-19 pandemic; great staff; quick service; took great precautions to meet the CDC guidelines for food service! Overall great time, beautiful area!
Went there just as outdoor dining was permitted in Mass. Very nice outside eating area. Warm, friendly server. But martinis were watered down, hamburger served not as ordered, salad that description said had blackened chicken in it did not, and French fries were limp. Let’s hope it was opening week jitters.
You could tell the waitress was very overwhelmed ! Told her to give herself more credit than she is ! The guy who was checking in people was very polite ! And the food and drinks were amazing !
Not a lot of choices on menu for dinner but food and service were great.
Food awful and wait staff informed on menu options
There was a very long wait for ultimately overcooked, low-quality food with obviously old ingredients.
Met clients I hadn’t met before there for lunch. It wasn’t too hectic, we could talk, we weren’t rushed but attended to nicely. I’m not familiar with the area and picked it sight unseen. Might have opted for something a little less casual but it ended up working out well.
We booked this restaurant on OpenTable simply because it had a kids menu and could accommodate 9 of us for a reservation. When we arrived, there was no kids menu. OpenTable shows a kids menu for this restaurant.
Food was great, service was excellent! we ate outside, and it was very loud with construction next door, but that is out of everyone's control. Would go there again and recommend to others.
We have lunch on the patio here every year when we visit Boston. The food & service all always top notch.
We made reservations for 8pm on a Saturday night. When we arrived there was no hostess. The 5 staff members who were at the inside bar area watched us stand there while they chatted and laughed amongst themselves for over 5 minutes. We were the only people in the restaurant, the staff was not too busy to acknowledge us. When we were finally greeted by a young man whom appeared very confused as to why we were standing there, he seated us and we ordered drinks and food. While we waited for food we counted 6 mice running around the bar and seating area! When we brought it to our servers attention, his reply was "I'm new". What exactly does his length of employment have to do with mice? Will never go back nor will I ever reccomend this restaurant!!
Server was great and food (lobster roll, and flat bread pizzas) was delicious. The 3 of us had a leisurely lunch and did not feel rushed. There’s construction going on all around the place so I’m sure some folks though it would be noisy but it wasn’t. We’ll be back!
Despite the construction happening outside we had an enjoyable lunch for 8 people. A couple of the Vegetarians got veggie burgers and were convinced that they were meat and not veggie. They brought it to the attention of the waitress who said everyone says that an assured them it was in fact a veggie burger. As far as I know they didn't become ill so I guess it really was veggies. A couple of us got the Caesar salad with either chicken or steak and were disappointed. The portion was very small and there was hardly any dressing on them. We would have asked for some more dressing on the side but the waitress never came back to check on us until we were finished, so we just ate it the way it was. Overall, not terrible but could be improved.
Enjoyed our lunch tremendously! Service was so professional. We each had salads (Caesar and Caprese). Just the right amount of park and dressing and the tomatoes on the caprese were so good. Both plates beautifully presented!
The food was average. Veggie burger had an unusual consistency. Lettuce in the salads a bit wilted. But it was OK. The service was slow, they seemed understaffed and it wasn't even terribly busy. No real views due to construction fence around the outside area. Loud music from nearby street performers but again not terrible. On the plus side, they had corn hole, a putting green, and a few other games outside. Overall not bad but you may be able to do better.
Very good lunch. The jackhammer work being done on the patio forced us into the restaurant, but that's ok. I like how they grill the chicken wings and don't deep fry them. The calamari was very good. They could improve on the wine selection. Better rose and Chablis choices would be great. The pinot grigio was fine.
Booked an after-work outing for 11 guests and everything went smoothly. We had high-top tables by the bar (since it was raining out), and the staff couldn't have been more friendly. The food and drinks were tasty and we all had a wonderful time! Thanks!
