We made reservations for 8pm on a Saturday night. When we arrived there was no hostess. The 5 staff members who were at the inside bar area watched us stand there while they chatted and laughed amongst themselves for over 5 minutes. We were the only people in the restaurant, the staff was not too busy to acknowledge us. When we were finally greeted by a young man whom appeared very confused as to why we were standing there, he seated us and we ordered drinks and food. While we waited for food we counted 6 mice running around the bar and seating area! When we brought it to our servers attention, his reply was "I'm new". What exactly does his length of employment have to do with mice? Will never go back nor will I ever reccomend this restaurant!!
Server was great and food (lobster roll, and flat bread pizzas) was delicious. The 3 of us had a leisurely lunch and did not feel rushed. There’s construction going on all around the place so I’m sure some folks though it would be noisy but it wasn’t. We’ll be back!
Despite the construction happening outside we had an enjoyable lunch for 8 people. A couple of the Vegetarians got veggie burgers and were convinced that they were meat and not veggie. They brought it to the attention of the waitress who said everyone says that an assured them it was in fact a veggie burger. As far as I know they didn't become ill so I guess it really was veggies. A couple of us got the Caesar salad with either chicken or steak and were disappointed. The portion was very small and there was hardly any dressing on them. We would have asked for some more dressing on the side but the waitress never came back to check on us until we were finished, so we just ate it the way it was. Overall, not terrible but could be improved.
Enjoyed our lunch tremendously! Service was so professional. We each had salads (Caesar and Caprese). Just the right amount of park and dressing and the tomatoes on the caprese were so good. Both plates beautifully presented!
The food was average. Veggie burger had an unusual consistency. Lettuce in the salads a bit wilted. But it was OK. The service was slow, they seemed understaffed and it wasn't even terribly busy. No real views due to construction fence around the outside area. Loud music from nearby street performers but again not terrible. On the plus side, they had corn hole, a putting green, and a few other games outside. Overall not bad but you may be able to do better.
Very good lunch. The jackhammer work being done on the patio forced us into the restaurant, but that's ok. I like how they grill the chicken wings and don't deep fry them. The calamari was very good. They could improve on the wine selection. Better rose and Chablis choices would be great. The pinot grigio was fine.
Booked an after-work outing for 11 guests and everything went smoothly. We had high-top tables by the bar (since it was raining out), and the staff couldn't have been more friendly. The food and drinks were tasty and we all had a wonderful time! Thanks!
Having the Impossible Burger on the menu will make me come back, as will the fries. Thin staffed at lunch though the two staff were friendly and tried their best.
A very nice birthday dinner. Thank you for being so accommodating :-)
Good, low key dinner place. I recommend. The prices are fair.
Sterling's looks like a fancy restaurant, more upscale than we usually go for out team lunches. The food turned out to be mediocre for most of the dishes - cold waffles that didn't seem fresh in the Chicken and Waffles, and a burger that was small, a little burnt on the outside. Basically the quality you'd expect from a much less fancy and less expensive place. The person who got soup and a Cobb salad said that was good.
The food was good but nothing really special. The waitstaff was not all that attentive but he very helpful and pleasant once we got his attention. The restaurant was very clean and the location is great if you’re in the Faneuil Hall area. We would stop in again.
Nothing special about the food. Mediocre at best. Attentive staff, good selection of beer and lots of room for our party of 11. Best described as standard pub fare.
The food was awesome and we had incredible waitress
We had a reservation for 6 Thursday night, they were very accommodating to our arrival being late with less people and the service was great. We ordered several appetizers and cocktails and enjoyed our night chatting and relaxing. Towards the end of our meal, my friend noticed a mouse at the table next to us running around the area where we were sitting. We understand that it is Boston, and that these things happen, however, nothing seemed to be done about it when we brought it to the attention of our server. While it wasn't a huge deal, it would have been a kind gesture to perhaps take some cost off of our bill (it was almost $300.00) or bring buy a round of drinks on the house as a nice gesture. Just something to think about the next time this might occur.
This is a good place to meet after work if you work downtown. The choice of menu items is large enough to meet most people's needs and the service was excellent.
There was only one server other than bartender. He did a great job
We were in Boston only for a day, very hungry and had no idea where to go. I’ll start with the positives: Great location with a nice outside patio. Our server was very nice and accommodating. They had a deejay so depending on what type of vibe you’re going for this may be a plus! The food however was pretty bad....and our group had a wide range of items. Even the cocktails! I don’t know about you, but a lot of the reason to get a Moscow mule is the cool copper cup. Not at this place...plastic all the way😞
Ive never given a negative review before and didn’t really see any on this site so maybe we just picked an off day/time but I would not go back or recommend this place....sorry guys, it’s a no for me
Their turkey club is an abomination. Bread not toasted, rather completely soggy - fell apart. 1 piece of bacon. Just a joke. Don't waste your time eating here - good for a beer outside though.
Caesar salad dressing was mediocre. I requested the white anchovies, but there weren’t enough.
The patio was the perfect for an outdoor lunch!
Staff is very attentive
I came here with my dad before a Celtic’s playoff game. It was pretty loud so it wasn’t good for a conversation but it definitely had us excited for the game. I got a few beers and the buffalo chicken flatbread, which was awesome. I want to come back here just to get this meal again. My dad got the burger, which he enjoyed. Our waitress was great and I think everything was reasonably priced. Will definitely be dining here again!
great place for a business lunch. Great view, quiet tables, great food, great service.
Was sat next to the very loud bar. Steak was burnt on the outside and too chewy on the inside. Wouldn’t order again.
Casual, good food, nice atmosphere, Great service!
Service was slow, food was mediocre at best. The restaurant was not crowded and yet we had to chase down our waitress. Our 6 year old's burger arrived more than 10 minutes after everyone else's food and there was no apology or anything. Would not return or recommend.
I was the first customer having the Seafood Cassarole. They had just included on the menu... I highly recommend.
Very disappointed. Waiter was rude and miserable. Steak tips lacked flavor and meat was poor quality.
Disgusting, I didn’t stay because a mouse ran through the dining room.
Sterling's is one of my favorite places to meet friends for drinks. At night you really have to make a reservation because it gets really busy. Prices are average too.
Nice outdoor seating area with views of Faneuil Hall. Food was good.
Room was uncomfortably cold.
Inside seating - waited 10 minutes to be asked if we had been attended to. Caesar salad was very plain, chicken was over cooked.
The service was great and the food was good. I loved the outdoor seating. It was kinda of hidden which I really liked. My only complaint is how small the menu was. The only thing I really liked/wanted was all out.
Food was subpar at best. Great outdoor space though!
This was my second visit to Sterling's for a business lunch. The weather was lovely and we were seated outside. The patio is very large and holds many tables. Our waiter was prompt, pleasant, and our orders arrived quickly. Another staff membe served and cleared - both were professional and courteous. Clearly used to patrons watching the clock which is most appreciated! Cobb salad was ample and fresh.
Beautiful night to be outside with the happy hour crowd. Appreciated the reservation in the crazy happy hour time. 2 diners had fish Taco's which were just ok and had been rated well recently. Other pub food was acceptable.
Although we did have a reservation I was surprised and disappointed by the kitchen's inability to meet our needs We did have a large group of 14 but they should not have been surprised and could have prepared better. They did not have enough food to meet requests of the guests, and not everyone was served at the same time. My pasta dish was served last and others had finished their meal by that time
Their saving grace was our waitress Alexis, she was very kind and attentive to our needs while apologizing for fact kitchen could not provide food we ordered.
It was a great location and the food we received was good so we might consider them again
