Excellent as always. Noisy though.
Fantastic breakfast! So good I returned the same day for dinner.
Very nice staff, comfortable ambiance, great neighborhood location, very tasty breakfast
We went here for a post-Boston Marathon dinner....and there were a lot of other runners doing the same thing. The bar was jammed full of people and really rocking. The dining area was more reserved. The food was very good. But a few hours after running a marathon, everything tastes good.
Stephanie's has become our go-to pre-marathon dinner for my wife, Stephanie. They are always very accommodating to pre run meal desires and making sure the food is proper fuel. This year they also went the extra mile and brought out celebratory free desserts for the table, so generous and kind of them.
Great spot for Sunday lunch with friends and family, nice variety of food, fantastic custom bloody mary. Perfect location. Highly recommend reservations. Prompt and efficient service.
We arrived and instead of 5 people we had 4 so I let them know ...I think that was the beginning...
We were also in between shifts apparently so we had someone come give us water then we waited....waited...
Then a waitress came over and we asked for lemon for our water and she brought it then was MIA again. I waved her down and we asked for bread and appetizers. We were told that bread was just during lunch and we were now for dinner service....we then proceeded to watch table after table get bread baskets ....
Got our appetizers they were delicious, ordered our meals and they were also delicious but we had to ask for knives we were only given forks.
We got desert they were just ok.
Pricey bull for the experience
A little loud, the overall quality of the food was good
Waitress had big cans!!
Every time I’m in Boston, I book a reservation. The restaurant never disappoints.
Plentiful portions
Stephanie's has been my go to place for the best hamburgers. I hope this was an off night and not a trend. I asked for medium rare and got well done and did not have time to send it back to be redone. It was awful.
It was fine. We had great service but the food was just okay.
Fun place with great brunch options. One of the most popular choices in Boston
We had a lot of fun at brunch. Stephanie's has a fun and bright atmosphere, and it's bustling - not a place to go if you want a quiet date night. It's much better for friends, family, looking to have a vibrant conversation. Great mimosas as they make their own orange juice which makes all the difference! My sister in law had a bloody Mary with their original mix which she said was really good. I got the Shakshuka which was delicious.
Salmon was undercooked — sent back again and still undercooked. The “tabouli” was just cold couscous and the bread was stale. Have had fantastic meals here in past but this one was lacking.
Very good food. Nice atmosphere. Will definitely go back.
We were visiting Boston and this is the first place we ate dinner. It was really beautiful inside and had great service. The food was the perfect mixture of comfort with fine dinning. Overall if we are in Boston again I would definitely go again.
Great experience. Our server, Keith, was terrific.
The restaurant is very pretty. Beautiful decorating job. Great ambiance. Nice menu and good food. We went for lunch.
Overall bad experience. Server was not courteous at all. When it was time to transition from lunch to dinner he didn’t even tell us he wouldn’t be our server anymore so I was confused who to even leave a tip for.
Excellent place for brunch and the food was delicious and delivered so quickly. I would of liked to sat outside but the weather did not cooperate. I would highly recommend this place to all for food, service and great atmosphere! Kim
Wonderful location on Newbury - cool ambiance - great mix of people - super comfortable.....leaving nice wide spaces between seating arrangements makes the space feel, well, spacious and airy and far enough from the neighboring table not to hear everyone else's conversations, unless of course that's your thing? We were there for brunch on Easter - very delish mimosas (the good champagne helps!), love the Bloody's - came with a menu of add-ins well beyond celery. Luscious lobster guac, the crabcakes were the best I've had in AGES!!! I will be back for more. Fried chicken sandwiches passed a very 21 years old's taste test - even the pickle was yum! The true test of a restaurant that cares right down to the condiments! MMMMMmmmmmm!
Sunday brunch’s Bloody Marys lived up to their reputation, and the range of menu options was great. Service was attentive and well-paced so we could have a leisurely meal with family without feeling rushed although it was really busy. My only negative is that I couldn’t taste any truffle flavor in the Croque Madame, which I ordered just for that flavor. Everything else was quite good though.
Good brunch spot - great customizable Bloody! Ample portions, great selection. Service was somewhat spotty - but all in all worthy. Patio seating in nice weather a great option.
overall food was good 2 people did both order steak,,,one was delicious the other was tough and chewy..I guess that can happen
Great place for families with small kids who still want a nice restaurant with an innovative, eclectic menu & a respectable wine list. Loud enough to cover “kid noise” & “bougie” enough for mom & dad tomboy feel like they’re @ Applebee’s! Food was fantastic & service was Pleasant & efficient
Great food, service was a little slow, drinks were fabulous. The eggs Benedict plate is large and very filling, hash brown waffle is filling and fabulous, pancakes were fluffy, delicious and large and came in a stack of 3, breakfast skillet was large and filling
Great food
Pricey but not for Boston
Been there twice and both meals wonderful
Great drinks too!
The waiter was cordial, but not accommodating. Came in during the latter portion of the Brunch, and was told I could not get an item off of the lunch menu. As I was sitting very close to the kitchen, I could see lunch items being served to other patrons. Nice concept, but not sure I will comeback during this visit or another.
This is definitely a "happening" place with lots of people. The food was creative and very good, not outstanding. Our service was excellent. The main downer is the noise level. They had the music on so high that it was extremely difficult to speak and hear without constantly shouting. We were all exhausted by the time we left. It could have been resolved just by turning down the sound a little but they refused.
In the neighborhood, has good food and good service.
Since we arrived at 6 pm, we were seated in an empty room, nice and quiet. Once it began to fill up after 7 pm, it became very loud. Scallops were great, wild mushroom ravioli only so-so. Dessert was a very generous size. Service was outstanding.
We had a sibling brunch reunion plus two toddlers. The staff was amazing! They brought some fruit while we waited so the young ones didn’t get cranky.
The food was great and the bloody Mary’s were a hit. There’s a pad of paper with additions to your Bloody Mary and you check off what you want in it (bacon was popular at our table).
We had a really fun time!
We love Stephanie's on Newbury as a place to bring friends from out of town. The location on Newbury St is great. The menu has many choices, it's affordable and consistent. I recommend it and will be back.
bathroom was fifthly
ONCE THE HIPPEST PLACE IN THE BACK BAY HAS NOW SLOWLY BECOME SLEEPY AND MEDIOCRE, ITS LOST THE BUZZ IT HAD IN THE 2000'S AS THE HIP TRENDY CROWD HAS MOVED ON TO THE SEAPORT AND SOUTH END. STILL A GREAT PLACE FOR A SALAD AND COMFORT FOOD. THE BAR IS STILL FUN FOR QUIET CONVERSATION, BUT NO LONGER PULLS IN THE ATTRACTIVE SINGLE 20 SOMETHINGS
BIG PRICE AND OBNOXIOUS METER MAIDS HAVE SCARED AWAY THE OUTH FROM NEWBURY STREET AND THE EMERGENCE OF THE LOCAL BREW OUB SCENE AS FAR OUT TO MELROSE AND PATRIOT PLACE MAKE THE TRECK IN TOWN LESS AND LESS WORTH IT
Too noisy and crowded. Food was just average.
Great food. Great atmosphere. One of my favorite places.
Waited 30 minutes to be seated after scheduled reservation time – plus slow food service thereafter. Not worth it.
