Very comfortable in the way the restaurant is handling the pandemic. Of course, we could eat outside so not sure about inside. Nonetheless servers were excellent as was the meal. Even though we were told there would be a 90min limit on the table we never felt rushed or uncomfortable.
We were here on a rainy day during the pandemic. We had made a reservation for outside but it could not happen and thankfully there were available tables inside. We had a nice table looking out onto Newbury Street and diners were very separated. Our waiter was wonderful and the food was very good. I miss the Nicoise salad that Stephanie’s always had in the past.
Our waitress did not even tell us her name. Apparently, the restaurant was out of allll whiskey, and only had coors light and bud light for beer. When asked about appetizers and COVID regulations, we had to order a certain amount but French fries and cheesy cornbread (which we had wanted) did not count. For the value, the experience was awful.
Food was very good. Soup came out lukewarm for one of us, hot for another... and same with the special hot chocolate drinks for dessert - one came out hot for one of us, the other, barely warm - not at all hot. Not sure what was going on with that... we didn't want to complain with all the covid pressures on the staff.... but it knocked the review down a bit for us.
In this crazy time we were thrilled to find a nice restaurant with outdoor seating to celebrate our daughter’s 19th birthday. It felt very safe and welcoming. Thank you!
Service, food, and atmosphere were great!
Did not have a good experience at all. Will not be coming back unfortunately.
Clean, delicious and great service!!
Our server was very pleasant, efficient and accomodating. She gave me and my friend just the right amount of attention and service we needed during our visit.
The food was very good but the service was a bit slow and we waited a really long time to get our food even though tables who got there after us got their food and left while we we were still waiting for our food. They also charge $2 per person for the restaurants PPE which I think is a little odd as I have never seen this before on a bill post-COVID. Overall, the food was good and perhaps just a busy day.
Food and service were both great! We loved the outdoor seating>. Great experience.
Birthday dinner
I was there on a (holiday) Monday evening with my daughter. The place was busy when we arrived for our 8:00pm reservation but not out of control.
The service was seemingly "off". Timing for ordering drinks and dinner was sporadic and then we had to wait 20 minutes to get our bill at the end, despite the restaurant being completely cleared out. Like we were forgotten.
No real recommendations from the server when asked her opinion.
Food was good but I thought it was over priced.
One of my favorite meals in Boston! Outdoor heating lamps we’re great and the food was incredible as always. The tuna tartar is always excellent and the burger is a must have.
Soooo yummy 😋
Went for Saturday brunch, service was slow food was very over priced and not that great to be honest.
food and service were excellent. tables spaced apart nicely with several heat lamps for outdoor dining.
All heaters were broken so it was so cold! Also no lights so we were in the dark. But our waiter was very sweet and food was yummy. Only issue was the food got cold very quick. Nachos were our favorite.
Lovely space nice lunch salad and overall a wonder experience
The food was delicious and consistently adds a good variety for different tastes. Love the ahi tuna, their nachos are fabulous, burgers are excellent as well as the lobster roll. Cocktails were terrific. Ambiance was excellent outside and it's always fun to people watch. Covid protocols were followed very well, making us feel safe. Service was very good, too. We had an excellent time!
omelet -$19- was ok, nothing special... told me it would cost $4 to have one piece of toast. So, not the best value. The patio is very nice. However, we had a person on the sidewalk coughing and sitting very close and it was very upsetting and distracting.
We had a delightful date there. Made reservations for an anniversary brunch and there were quite a lot of people but it is Newbury St. But the server was great and the food was great.
Service was unwelcoming at the host stand and our service was snarky and unhelpful.
Great to still eat outside they have heat lamps going! Good lobster rolls!
Excellent safety procedures regarding Covid
The burgers were excellent; however, I think that a $2 per guest PPE charge was ridiculous. The service was only mediocre.
This place on Newbury has amazing ambiance. Service was immaculate and everyone working there was great. Personally not a fan of the food at all. Seemed pretty bland and didn’t want to finish even half of it. Great people but food was sub-par. Would come back maybe for drinks and the environment
Was a bit of a wait for a reserved time. Once seated we ordered and got my order wrong, even though I made a point to repeat it. Overpriced - $50 for a breakfast sandwich and 2 glasses of prosecco.
Amazing food, great service !
Always good to have a burger. Theirs are small but delicious. A nice, sheltered patio, protected from cars and pedestrians.
The outdoor seating was nice and the spacing was good. More heaters would have been nice because it was chilly. The food and service was good. The portions were generous. It was a pleasant dinner however it was a bit pricey.
Food was way overpriced for very underwhelming quality... was very disappointed in every dish we ordered, yet we paid same as we would have in a different restaurant with great food
I have been to Stephanie's many times over the years and I was quite disappointed with the service and my meal.
Our first foray into the COVID-19 dining world had us seated out on the patio at a table near the servers’ entrance and the bussing station. Despite a well thought out social distancing plan elsewhere , my friend and I spent most of our lunch talking over waitstaff chatting, dishes clattering into bins, and swatting flies and bees away from us, as they flew around nearby the trash barrel...attracted by the smell of garbage. Not very appetizing at all.
The service was professional and friendly, the food what you expect from a lunch menu...it was just the poor seating placement that spoiled the visit.
Good food and very good staff. However because of tourist location, overpriced.
With the pandemic, it was almost empty but still fully staffed and all staff were very pleasant. Food was very good, definitely will be going back.
I enjoyed my turkey burger but everyone else disliked their food. Very pricy for mediocre food. You’re really paying for the people watching.
Stephanie's is one of those places that will always get the business because of it's location, the best and his outdoor seating is great but the food is only ok and the prices are ridiculously expensive for what you get, not to mentions the $17 mini cocktail price. The service was also very very poor.
Just okay, not overwhelmed. Went for brunch and felt very rushed. I ordered the Mexican Fried Egg sandwich and it was just okay. Nice patio set-up on Newbury.
The service was extremely poor. My food was burnt and had no salt. The server came by to check in maybe once. Our table was slanted and glasses kept sliding off to once side. It was pretty bad for the price we were charged
